3 Year Post Gastric Bypass Operation Update | I was depressed and not following Directions
Вставка
- Опубліковано 17 сер 2023
- I discuss the 3-year update of my gastric bypass surgery and how I became depressed and withdrawn due to not following directions. I talk about my gastric bypass results and weight loss, and how the impact of being "skinny" made me sad. I discuss the regrets I have when it comes to my diet and exercise regimen. I also encourage people considering gastric bypass to ensure that they are mentally prepared for the change and that it is important to take your vitamins and eat right. Because I was not gaining weight, I believed that it was ok to not take my medications, vitamins, and eat appropriately.

I’m so proud of you 👏🏾 for your truthfulness. I’m scheduled for Oct 10
Thank you for watching! Congrats on your surgery date. I wish you a speedy recovery, remember to drink plenty of fluids and keep walking as best as you can. It may take some time, but you will be recovered and losing lbs. like crazy. Go!! Can't wait to hear about your updates.
Hey did you have gastric bypass?
Thank you for being real about it all. I am due for my bypass on Oct 20th. I am very nervous...But I know it will be the only real solution for me to finally lose the weight for good. I am 58 and terrified I won't be able to walk by the time I'm 60. Did you have a lot of joint pain etc and find it difficult to walk before the op? I am hoping that my pain reduces significantly after my op. I've chosen the Bypass rather than the sleeve as for 19 years I had a gastric band in, which was taken out in July. I lost 30kg with that, but eventually put it all back on 😢. I learnt how to still eat all the bad stuff with the band. I think the Sleeve is too similar to the band. Having the Bypass and actually having consequences (dumping) for eating the wrong things might be the difference in helping me stay on track. Once I've lost some weight, I'll feel more able to do gym work etc. Sorry for the ramble! 😂 Greetings from Adelaide, Australia 🇦🇺
Congrats on your surgery date! That's wonderful. Before the surgery, my legs would go numb and my knees would hurt a lot. After the surgery and weight loss, the pain in my legs and knees stopped and ceased to become a problem. You'll definitely want to start eating right after the surgery because dumping is real. I talk about it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/YzIpb9BwolI/v-deo.html
The surgery will keep you on track for real. When you recover take your time and walk a lot, that will help you drop pounds. You can always work out when you feel up to it, but walking is essential. Good luck and thanks for watching my video. I always wanted to go to Australia.
@GaptoothDiva I can't wait to find the "me" I always wanted to be. I feel like I've wasted so much time. But I'm ready for the next phase. It's the small things...getting through my day with no joint pain. Not worrying about fitting in a plane seat. Going to a "normal" size clothes shop. Having a bath! Then bigger things like...learning to scuba dive! I have quite a list. Hopefully I can achieve most of them. Hope you get to visit this lovely country one day!
Is your concern post op more of a cosmetic thing or medical ?
