Disclaimer - I don't know much about edible plants, I just like trees. There's probably more ground plants that you can eat, and there's loads more mushrooms that I don't know about. There's also very abundant populations of squirrel, bunnies, and deer. And that's not getting into how productive the rivers around here are. I was literally eating some white bass that I caught this afternoon while watching this.
Clover, dandelion, and lamb's ear grow in abundance in Oklahoma. Cattails too if you are near water. The lower stems of young cattails are sorta like celery and the roots are hard and crunchy very similar in texture and appearance to ginger (i would suggest boiling like potatoes). And of course the cat tail puff itself when it is still yellow with pollen (and after it has dried and turned brown it makes great firestarter)
The plant that I'm very familiar with that Mike found is Burdock Root, it's because it is a frequent plant that I always loot in enemies and find in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Not gonna lie this would be relatively easy here in NE oklahoma. On my 1.5 acre land there's mulberry trees, mockernut hickory trees, black cherry trees, persimmon trees, a slippery elm (Only one sapling), black walnut trees, a black oak tree, redbud trees, apple trees (we planted these), peach trees (planted these as well), some kind of grape vine, and last but certainly not least, a somewhat regular population of genuine morels.
Mike: I am going to find plants that might be edible. Let’s see where we get.
Mike: Why did I eat that plant
Oof
I love how that guy didn't name any of the dangerous plants.

Everytime I am reminded there are people who know exactly what plants are deadly I am reminded that one day in the past, some person had to eat it in order for the rest of the tribe to know that the plant is poisonous.

oreos are very easy to forage in a supermarket
FYI there is a universal edibility test that was put together for US Army Rangers. Just in case you ain't got time to learn all the local flora.
T_L_K feed it to the lowest ranking personnel and if they don't get sick it's safe
Where is the forest? I live in London, but miss the nature.

@@blueberry7383 Buttercups make you give you bloody diarrhea and intestinal blistering. It's either you had very small amounts of buttercup and didn't get these symptoms, or you didn't eat real buttercup.
I would never eat nettles because of that one episode of regular show where Rigby ate a nettle and all his mouth swelled up
Me and my friend used to eat dandelions at recess
Fun Fact: You can go about a month on the fat reserves in your body. The 3 days for fishing wouldn’t be that bad.
Only if you have access to clean water though

Im so bloody happy I live in the age of supermarkets/ farmers markets. Imagine having to do this all your life and dying because you get poisoned by a plant... I'm honestly also really fascinated that my ancestors lived through all of that.
