Just finished the first season today. Such a brilliantly crafted program. Excellent writing, set design and masterfully chosen cast. Also enjoyed Medici: Masters of Florence.

I Loved it. I am of French Ancestry (my great great great great grandfather was a friend of the King of France). So it is thrilling to see France through Versailles the series, although at times I had to pause, because of seeing how life was during the earlier darker period of KLIV's early reign, but OMG, I am hooked and yes the men are prettier than the ladies. Hee hee hee. I loves the series.

I'm not gay at all, but I've notice a long time ago ever since I used to read Thor comic books as a kid ,and watch those 80's rock videos that any slightly tall and well dressed good looking man with a nice built and nice long hair would look Majestic and overwhelmed the presence of any woman standing beside them, but for that to happen do not wear a beard , or perhaps if you do! make it a slight trim mustache and a goatee (because a huge beard would ruin the nice suit and make you look like a hobo or a braggart instead)
For example, Just imagine a tall nice built looking guy like Christopher Reeve who has the type of face that you would find in an anime such as the Rose of Versailles ! he'd look terribly awesome.
That's the secret most people don't want you to know and therefore are against men wearing long well groomed hair and wish that those type of men to be gay instead,.. because most women standing beside them wouldn't look much... but sexual object to be dispose at any time.

The first thing that comes to mind when I see them is Vikings and Merlin. But they never mention Merlin in any of these interviews, how can you not mention Alexander playing Mordred ❤️️ also why must they both be so hot 😭😭😭.I love this show I hope it stays on air for years to come.

Mondo Cultura - I wasn't referring to how they pronunce it in the interview. They have spelt it wrong on the title of this video. They've written 'Versaille' presumably because that don't realise there's a silent 's'.

Yes, that's all well and good, but how much have they had to edit out for the version shown in the United States? American television is a lot more conservative than European television (i.e. no nudity, no graphic violence, no graphic depictions of sexual activities, etc).
Kayla ~ Seriously? Obviously you have not seen 'Game of Thrones', one of the highest rated series on TV since it began airing. No shortage of sex, gore, and even incest. The Puritans are long gone here.

Alexander has a bit of a stutter here, is this typical of him or maybe just a one-off owing to tiredness, etc. does anyone know?
I've never heard him stutter in any other interview. This was an early interview in the US and she asked him about the history . He's admitted in other interviews that he knew nothing about this period in French history before he started filming. He also said he didn't read up on it but relied just on the script. He only knows what the consultant tells them about the manners and etiquette at Versailles. She would have been better asking George Blagden that question. I think he said he did do some reading in preparation but they are actors, not experts on history.

@@heliotropezzz333 Didn't Alex attend school in Wales? I knew all about Versailles in grade school, and I treated myself to a trip to Versailles when visiting Paris. I was in love with history long before it became cool.
