It's Refreshing to see George seems So shy in real life. He had a very authoritative and commanding presence in the series. What a wonderful series, Loved it.
I only recently found, Versailles on Netflix. I have been binge watching the past few weeks while I have been at home with Covid. I'm so sad that they never made the 4th season. What a great show.
I loved George Blagden so much from his part in the movie version of Les Miserable that I had to see him do King Louis in Versailles. He is amazing and born for this role.
Alexander and George ...Such great actors. Im actually surprised to see Alexanders demeanour in interviews. This goes to show his superb talent in acting .love love Philippe in the show. Wish it was on going.
I just watched season 1 through 3 in a week and I must say it is beautiful and the acting is so so strong. The creators of this show may not realize that many of us in the United States are just now discovering this wonderful gem on streaming services like Netflix and we are just loving it. I understand the show was recently canceled and I think that is a big mistake. The acting is so strong, the writing is excellent, it is visually addictive...I could argue this is better done than Game of thrones ...it's richer, more well thought out, I miss it already. I watched the first episode of the new GOT season and I found myself missing Versailles. I understand we are limited by history but we should keep this team together somehow maybe for another story altogether it's just lighting in a bottle .... that kind of chemistry on screen is rare.
I dealt with my withdrawal symptoms by reading a lot about the period starting with a biography of Philippe, then Liselotte's letters and the Duke of Saint Simon's account of Versailles (in 3 volumes). I was gripped by those too. His account starts about 10 years before the death of Philippe and there's not a lot of Philippe in it as he hangs around Louis and his heirs and Philippe lived at St Cloud and Paris at this time. It goes on beyond Louis's death. Liselotte's letters are also gripping. I read a version that had a selection of her letters. I don't know what was deselected. I also read a diary account by Montespan which I found free on the internet. It wasn't very long and it was quite bitchy about some people. I got the impression that her account wasn't always high on accuracy and was rather self-serving. This century (17th) is the first period in history where we start to get people's diaries and accounts of their lives and a lot of the detail we know is based on such accounts. I think that's partly why the history and the drama is so vivid. Also it's the good writing, the good acting, the amazing settings and the attention to period detail.
@@heliotropezzz333 Thank you for sharing this Helen! I am still missing the show and will follow your suggestions. I didn't realize diaries from the period were free online that's wonderful! Thank you!
@@william5823 Only Montespan's was free online. I had to buy the others from Amazon books, and some may be harder to find now, but I hope you find and enjoy them.
@@william5823 Sorry, one more thing. There are lots of versions of books about this subject. The ones I read were 'Brother to the Sun King' by Prof Nancy Nichols Barker, Letters from Liselotte, edited by Maria Kroll and 'Memoirs' Duke De Saint Simon (3 vols) translated and edited by Lucy Norton. I'm afraid some of these books can be expensive now, especially the Liselotte one, but they may be available free from any good library.
Finished all three seasons in a few days. I’ve never been so invested in a show. I’m a French history buff before this and now even more so. Made me sad to find out their tombs were raided during the French Revolution. I grew to love these characters even though I know they might’ve not been the same in real life.
LOVED "Versailles" so very much. Historical fiction is so wonderful to watch; the writing was lovely, the acting sublime and of course, the sets, props and costumes sumptuous. I'm so sad to learn there will not be a fourth season. It was such a lovely place to retreat to...I looked forward to every episode and had fun following reading about the real-life characters and facts from the history of Louis XIV.
I was so excited to see a Season 2. I am watching 2 episodes a night and love it! The actors are doing a great job. Thank you all so much for this production. I am looking forward to a Season 3. Just don't make me wait so long.
I discovered Versaille about 3 weeks ago and just finished the series. What a fantastic show and really enjoyed it right up to the end (though the finale left something to be desired). George Blagden, Alexander Vlahos and Tygh Runyan and the actor who plays Chevalier (just to name a few) were all amazing. As for this inteview it's kind of funny how Blagden and Vlahos here, with their stubbly faces, look more like siblings here than they did on the show.
They're both amazing George portrayed Louis XIV really good in all his power and vanity but I obviously really liked Alexander, as Phillipe more than as himself. I'm glad I accidentally find this series as it is utterly uncommon for someone from my country to watch this kind of film.
Me encanta esta serie, no dejo de ver todos los capítulos, si se me pasa algo que no oigo viro el video para atrás jajajaja jajajaja muy interesante Gracias
Hi is me again my name is Kate muse about Alexander I just want to say that his so cute and really nice man and this is why l like him so much and l just wish that Alexander will known how l fill about him as a fan in his life.
It really sucks that they left it hanging, I would not have watched it if I had known. To the actors and actresses you were all awesome! Great job ,great show ,I am just really angry that it ended like it did . Louis and Phillip(don't know your names yet but both so gorgeous and great acting.

@S It's on Netflix in the United States. If you're outside the US it's pretty much dependent on the distribution rights for that particular country.

Omg, Alexander Vlahos is such a Pretty man 😍😍😍😍😍😍 I'm in Love

So sweet Alexander is my Favorit
Anika Wendland mine too! Just love him. Met him in London this year. Wonderful! 👍🏻👍🏻
they are both stunning to look at -- Blagden's eyes, Alexander's face overall facial beauty -- wow
Alexander is lovely! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I am finishing the 3rd season and hadn't seem any of the actors like themselves! I am shocked!! But also enchanted!! Wonderful!!
They are bo th such great underrated actors and George is so humble but mesmerising in that role.
"Humble" is not an adjective I'd associate with Louis XIV.
Maureen Hamill I was talking about George not Louis ..... I’ve never heard him being interviewed .... duh
But you said he was humble in the role. I presumed you meant in the role of Louis.

I wish for a 4th season so bad! I loved this series and it’s a shame to see it cancelled. Please bring it back!
Alex is so much cuter in real than in his Role from Versailles. So lively dreamy eyes.George seems a bit reserved but nice as well.

I talk about Matt Healy all the time. a little too often. 1975.
Beautiful men!!!
The middle aged female presenter can hardly speak having those two on her sofa 👀
:)
