I bought a bag of ky8051 led driver chips on ebarf, i drew out the circuit from some dead harbor fright solar lights, the diode, capacitor and inductor are all standard so i got them from dead tv's and monitors, you can make these without a board or use a universal soldering kit board, fun!
I want to up the coil uh to about 1mh or bifilar coil. That way I connect the near 1mh coil in the circuit while running the output of the other coil through a diode bridge back to the battery. This should up the run time a bit.

can I use 5V 30mA 53X30mm solar cell instead of your one??
I normally use 2v panel. I am going to use a voltage regulator for anything more as im not sure then hook up a second lot of leds

Digikey sells just about every small electronics part in production. (Sometimes things that are no longer in production too.)
It has a built in diode so its more simple to buid and less to go wrong
@@stephenburden2084 Last time built light from 2 SOT-23 MOSFETs (Gate threshold voltage from 0,4V to 1V) and one diode.

@@stephenburden2084 no voltage regulator is required. You can use solar panel of 2V output directly.
