Nice tour Clay, you guys are living the dream out there. Enjoy every minute of it. Its sometimes easy to forget you got paradise right under your nose when you get used to it. Keep inspiring us mate.
Enjoyed the overview! Glad to see you took the land out of the wheat rotation.... and dang the wildlife shots, awesome! Milling was great to see as well!
More stuff like this, Clay! (And also the bow building and hunting, keep that stuff around, too!) Loved seeing the place, definitely give us a tour of the truck!
Just caught this video. You guys have got a great piece of property! Living the dream. How peaceful, we love the wildlife and could just sit and watch it for hours. We love gardening, canning, if it were me I would not want to ever leave.
Clay, You are a lucky and talented man. Thanks for giving us a modern-day glimpse into the life of a Kendrick homestead. He great-granddad homesteaded there on Bear Ridge in 1903...
I appreciate your understanding and respect of wildlife and predator/prey relationships and how you concentrate on improving wildlife habitat. Your place is an awesome example of how to do things in a long term, sustainable fashion. Excellent job Clay, you are spot on! Thanks for showing folks a great example of how to do it right.
So glad that you won Clay! I missed seeing Liz suprise you on the show at your camp so I was really glad that you posted the video of your homecoming! Your family is wonderful! You deserved to win!
I’m now a part time logger for my family owned logging company/sawmill; my dad started his business 40 years ago. I’ve always appreciated the saw marks on lumber cut from our circular sawmill. We’ve since been rebuilding a 15,000 sq ft house we lost in 2012 to a fire, and I really enjoyed watching this video of your homestead. I wish you and your family the best, I’m happy to see your kids are helping you and learning - and as an environmental scientist, I also enjoy that you always invoke science in your videos.
Clay, you've become a great inspiration. The archery drew me in, but I see you're a true Renaissance man. When I can afford it, I've set my sights on coming out to build a bow at your class! Keep on!
I guide on the clearwater and would love to take you and your boys fishing. The least I can do you have reignited my archery passion. All the best to you and your family.
Clay, thanks for sharing your home and family with us, a real treat. I was getting worn out watching the amount of energy and work put into the home and land. One of the great things about it is how the whole family is a part of it, right down to the little ones.
This is what i call the dream life of real people... having a beautiful family and an amazing homestead location. My english does not cover the right words as in my language, but i can only say that keep your life as it is... because it is perfect. I wish i was born in America and living this dream. Congratz man and keep up!
GOD has blessed your beautiful family. Hard work is key and you, your wife and two boys are definitely hard workers. Thank you for sharing your homestead. Enjoyed it all. 🏡🚜🛻🌳🐇👬👩🌾👨🌾
What a great video showing your property and home .... Looks like a fun place ! I bought some property myself 2 years ago in the high plateau next to the national forest in the mountains where I back country ski in and since then set up a small cabin , Lots of work for sure.... but you already know this having and building , working on your place . thanks for the video always fun seeing what you all are up too ......cheers
Have lived kind of a similar lifestyle and know a little of where you are coming from. It is a great life. Wish you luck on your endeavors and good health to you and your family. My mother once told me, "if you have your health you have everything." That goes for a healthy way of thinking too. I appreciate and admire your perspective.
I loved your video and know my husband will too. The cherry on top for me was your sweet old Dachshund and I know my husband will love the info on your Dodge!
Outstanding and educational. I did something similar with two ten-acre properties in Manitoba - taking them out of crop production and planting wildlife cover. I live on a 2 acre lot now in a small rural village surrounded by farmland, but ironically have more game (deer, rabbits, squirrels, grouse, occasionally a turkey) in my back yard than I had in either of the original properties. Unfortunately, I can't bowhunt any of these deer for fear they will bolt when shot and expire on a neighbours property.
Great place to make a home. Love the simple, hard working life and feeling of accomplishment that goes with it. Your demeanor is relaxing and content and videography is top notch. I ran across WVO when I was learning to make bio diesel. Tried it for awhile but wasn't comfortable with it. Went ahead with building a 300 gal bio batch processor.
A dream being realized,Clay . I’m happy for you and your family..Lots of projects ahead but it’s all worth it.. One board, one nail, one tomato 🍅 at a time and there’s…. LOL
My shop is a Disaster to...never ending battle ! I watched your videos on board bows ..i liked it...some people look down on them ..boards do come from tree's !!
Dude, you where a BEAST on Alone, and I thoroughly liked watching you, and I was routing for you the whole time, Congratulations, you definitely earned it, Take care my friend.and good luck with everything
Ditto! Routing for you from day 1. Fellow Native Idahoans here! Love watching all your videos we are finding 😁🏞️ wishing you, Liz and the boys all the best!
dang dude that place looks so good and i do love the rustic feel of it and reuse of the old timber! would also love more homestead and also about you hunting on your land would be intresting
None of the hunting or fishing means anything without a home and family to take it all home to. I’m totally in favor or more homesteading vids on your channel!
Sorry for the late response, i am a new subscriber. I am doing similar things with my property in NW Iowa, have established over 100 acres of wetlands and trees as well as native type prairie plantings. Basically converted some un-profitable farmland into terrific wildlife habitat (and "ME" habitat). I want to commend you for your mostly "low key" approach to the restorative work you have/are doing. The long term result may surprise you. We need much more of this type of thing.
Clay...great video. Thanks for shaing your homestead with us city bound viewers who are dreaming of getting back out into the country. One thing that really caught my eye during the video was your Wiener Dog (Dachshund). Those are great dogs....but most of them are allowed to get fat and end up with debilitating spinal issues. Your Dachshund is nothing but muscle....maybe a bit of an old man gut....but man, he is so well muscled...and nearly totally gray faced. I have rarely seen a Dachshund with a face that gray....because they are allowed to get fat, end up with spinal issues and put down before they get old enough to wear the Gray Face of Honor. You have my respect for how you have taken care of that dog....as well as how you are raising your boys to be real men and working as a steward of the land that is your homestead.
Love the homestead! I have been wanting to move to north central Idaho for years and I need to visit so my wife can see it as she is not as sold on it as I am. This is our dream but she wants to do it in Arkansas on family land and I am still drawn to Idaho! Great video and would love to see the truck project!
Wow!!! I just found your channel today, and thus far I am in awe! You guys are living the life! I used to live in Idaho myself and plan to move back eventually. Your guys lifestyle is absolutely awesome and exactly what I want for me and mine as well thank you so much for the knowledge and sharing your life with us all! Can’t wait to see more! I live in cathlamet for the purpose of going off the grid a bit, I have the elochoman river in my back yard few acres of gorgeous cedars and firs and until recently my nearest neighbor was 3 miles now I have neighbors on either side of my property and want to move sadly....I fell in love with this place because of the solitude and now that’s disappearing with a quickness unfortunately. Well I will quit blabbing hahaha keep up the good work and keep enjoying your amazingly beautiful lifestyle!!!
Yes, all the Cummins and other general homestead stuff please.

You guys make me happy.❤️

Love love love this !! I have a lot in common with Liz. I put up 300 # of potatoes one year 🤯. So blessed 🥹

Many thanks for that outstanding way of life.
I like this video, and to me a vegetable oil burning 12 valve just falls into the self sustainability niche. Good work!
I’m working on that vid. Should be out soon.
very interesting...This summer I plan on buying 20 acres in N. Idaho and homesteading
Great video, beautiful property, magnificent family
Thanks so much
