The two things I admire are: 1 - the knowledge you have of survival and self sufficiency.
2 - sharing this with your son and spending time with him.

Hey Clay, i just finished your book. It was excellent and I'm not necessarily interested in reading. To anyone who hasn't read it, buy it! You won't be disappointed. I felt like i was right there with you, and with 2 kids of my own, i felt everything deeply. I can only imagine Christmas and the toy planes. You're a great Dad who not only dedicates time to his crafts but on improving himself as a father and husband as well. Much respect my friend. Take care. - Beau

My daddy taught me everything I know about the woods. At my age 50 he was 90, we had a talk. It was a scolding from him because I was planning to attempt to hike the entire Appalachian Trail for the first time. He said, "Go then girl but I want you to be smart not stubborn. Come home when you've had enough". What I woulda given to have him out there with me. SMH

So cool to see you teaching your kids all this stuff and seeing them grow over the years, they will remember these memories fondly when they are older for sure. It would be so cool 15-20 years from now to see one of your kids crushing it on Alone haha! Hey Clay,
There is so much about this video that is really good.
The snake handling was next level. 👌
Your acknowledgement of Karie Lee was cool. She needed a helper like you had to mix up her cob!
The tree bark was very very nice! If only bark like that was always available.
The fireplace and chimney were extremely finely crafted. There were several subtle touches that increased it's functionality.
All in all, a great video!
    Cheers from Alaska

Great video. When I first heard the snake rattle, I thought I was hearing a cicada bug. With my bad ears I don't always hear tones correctly. Very few rattlers in my area. Several things I enjoy about your videos. Taking time to point out the trail plant in this video and other small woodsmanship things in your other videos are always enjoyable. And Fen's He-man poise gave me a chuckle.😁. Humor is nice.
