I've completed another eclectic page gluebook and want to show you inside! I'm going to give you a glue book flip through of this latest book, and then start from the beginning, showing you how to make a gluebook from scratch, using a binding tool and a bunch of cool papers.

I can’t even tell you how much I enjoy watching you on your channel create these lovely one of a kind journals and books. You have such a keen eye for proportions, colors, and subjects. I promise I will be taking your on line course this year. 🤍🤍
Wonderful! I look forward to seeing you in class!
I really enjoy your flip-throughs where you talk about how you chose things, but I also really love your "create with me" projects where we get to work side by side with you. I really love your style so I enjoy seeing how you choose things. :)
Oh thank you, Katie! I'm so glad you're enjoying these. 😘
So interesting. I just watched the video of you making this book 2 years ago. And it's finished 5 months ago. Makes me feel more patient with my learning journey. Beautiful artwork as usual
Yes, I take my time with these. It's so enjoyable taking it little by little 😉💙👍🏻
Good looking series of gluebooks. I Love the one you flipped through, and I enjoyed seeing you put together the new one. Thank you for sharing. 😃👍
Glad you enjoyed it! 💜
I can see why you kept those two pieces for the cover--they're terrific. Several years ago you referred to your Zutter so I bought a second hand one...and then never used it. I was a little intimidated. It was very helpful to actually see how you put the book together (I'm a visual learner) and put the coil on. Also, I have a lot of postcards and greeting cards so this might be a good use for them. Thanks for this lesson. Nothing is too basic. We need this.
Great! I hope you pull it out and experiment with it. See how many pages are a good amount for your coil width. 👍🏼💚
Thank you for sharing. I have a Zutter. Haven’t used in awhile. Truly inspired me to start using it again. Love the idea of using postcards as pages. I have many from all my travels. Since I was a child. I do use them in my junk journal as flips or a nice surprise in a pocket. 😊🌸🌺
Wonderful! I'm glad you got some ideas to play with 😉
Thank you, Margarete. As you flipped thru the first book, I was trying to figure out how you put it together. I have a Zutter tool, so it’s as I surmised. I’m just really glad you showed us how and WHEN you put your book together. When: BEFORE you collage. I love all the different page sizes, especially the playing cards. Wonderful instructive video. 💕
Glad it was helpful! ❤️
💕
Thank you for demonstrating the Zutter! I bought one after being very impressed with your previous glue books. There are videos on using these machines but it really helps seeing someone who uses it the way I want to. You have ignited the glue book bug in me, this craft really brings me much joy and I have no shame in peeling something off a sidewalk that would work in a collage! 😜
Yay!! So glad your creating and have got a Zutter 👍🏼💙
You are such an inspiration and a great teacher. I was happy to see how your binding machine works. Will be watching for your next video. 🥰
Thank you. Glad it was helpful 💙
Thanks Margaret for this AWESOME &I NSPIRING Tutorial!!! I don't have that apparatus, so I improvised and used eyelets, and fashioned rings from 14gauge bare copper wire!! I utilized a small glue stick as a form/ mandrel ( could use that also!) to wrap the wire around one ring at a time, times 5 pcs.
I used a saltine box to make the covers..glued two pcs each for sturdiness.. Used my punch/ eyelet tool, similar to a cropadile, no extras..(wish I had one lol) to make 5 holes. Then, utilizing those thick political/ etc adverts, I cut to lengts, fold in half, punch the holes...Came out COOL! Now to decorate/ glue!
Love how yours came out!! I don't use fakebook or instgm...maybe I will try to make a video at some point...I just have my little Fire tablet small megapixel camera/vid..
Cheers and hope you are enjoying your summer!!
🤗💖💐🙋♀️- Mindi
Neat!! Wow! You've got something really cool figured out. This is going to be an awesome gluebook 💙👏🏼🙂
Thank YOU!! I am starting another one by glueing some postage stamps in A similar fashion, as that looks REALLY COOL!! So,, we shall see how they both turn out...something to do with what I have, and recycling materials!
Warm Hugs to you for being such an AMAZING Influencer!! 💝🤗🌹🙏🙋♀️See you next time!! Fond Regards, Mindi
Margaret thank you! I have seen journals with this type of binding before. I will definitely try this format. I enjoyed the steps you took to show how it’s done. You make it look so easy. 😊
I'm so pleased it was helpful to you, to see how I did it. I hope you'll put one together. ❣️
Margarete, fabulous as usual and thank you for sharing! You have inspired me to create a few of these and put some of my favorite postcards in along with my collection of playing cards. I find I tuck items away, wanting to use them and never do so these gluebooks are just perfect. Your books are wonderful 🥰
Super! How neat to have a book full of favorite postcards, with some playing cards in there ❤️
This is a wonderful video. I could watch this over and over!😀 I love your use of the different layers of napkins.
Thank you so much! 💙
I love the look of the zutter for binding but I know I wouldn't use it enough - it's perfect for collage pages though.
I think a hole punch and rings is sufficient if you are not interested in a binding machine. 👍🏼😉
Ah, now maybe I'll get my Bind It All out of the box! I've used metal binder rings to make some journals but there's a lot of flex in the pages which I don't like. Gotta be brave and try the Zutter. This vid was much needed demo and inspiration. Thank you!
Wonderful! Yes, pull out the Zutter and experiment. 👍🏼💚
Very informative and helpful video. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
Thanks for demonstrating the Zutter. I always wanted to know how that worked.❤️
I really appreciate this video. I haven't used my Zutter for quite a while and it is such a great way to bind journals. Thank you!
I too have a Zutter which I haven’t used for years. She has inspired me to use it and bind up some pages.
Love your books, Margarete! It's so fun you used the Zutter - I've been intending to look up a video on how to use the one I was given. Thank you! :D
Great! So glad you will pull yours out and play with it 👍🏼🙂
@@MargareteMiller yes - finally lol :D
Margarete:
That cinch machine and I would have a hard time getting along. However, those little plastic rings have potential. Almost like the small metal rings that are readily available. Thank you for suggesting that.
And your personal combination of cards and paper are most interesting. I can see this being a lot of fun.
Carol from California
Love these little books! The size is very appealing. And, of course, your collage is exceptional.😊
Thank you! That's kind of you to say 😘
I just received the cinch for my birthday. Now I can make a glue book thank you
Awesome!! Have fun with it. 👍🏼❤️
Thank you for the great tutorial! The spiral binding is great. I will try it with my Cinch.
Awesome! I’m so glad 👍🏼🙂
Love, love this tutorial/demonstration. The Zuttter is great for binding. Love the Dutch cover and the cards I saw pas by on camera. Thx so much fot this greta idea to use ols postcards.
I’ve got lots and lots of them. Greetz from the Netherlands
Awwww. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. I love the Netherlands 🇳🇱 ❤️
Love the covers you chose for the book and I love my BIA. It's small and works great. And I enjoyed seeing your collection of books. TFS * L
Loved the flip-through. Enjoy working in your new one!
Thanks so much! 💜
Enjoyed this. I have been wanting to do a smaller book. This shows me that collages this size can be just as interesting. So plan to make this my next project. I always learn so much from your videos. Thank you for sharing this process.
Thanks you, Jean. This size is best for me. If you like something more, do that size. Whatever works. 👍🏼💙
💜💜💜 I love this binding!
Super inspiring, thank you!
N i c e.
Your work is lovely- thanks for sharing!
Love your ideas.❤
Love your videos! BTW - Un-do Adhesive Remover is my go to for removing those stubborn stickers.
Thank you! I'll look that up 😉👍🏼💜
I recently got a mini cinch that will do the job. It will bind at least 6 inches, but I read somewhere I could get it to do more. I think 6 inches max is plenty. I haven't used it yet, but I'm looking forward to it! I love all your postcards!
Awesome!! I'd love to see one of those in action. I hope you like what it does👍🏼💙
I like this size. Not so much real estate for a beginner to collage. Like me!
Yep, you're right 😉 It's the perfect size. ❤️
Did your puppy chew on the one journal? I think you mentioned that something was gnawed on! I like the idea of the rings as I don’t have room for any more tools.
Yep. My puppy 6 years ago chewed the corner of one of them 😛. Yes, rings are a great alternative 👍🏼
Thanks for showing how you make your gluebooks and for demonstrating the Zutter machine, it looks like a lot of fun with many possibilities. Is there a reason you only bind part of the spine and not the whole length? Just curious if it's a Zutter limitation or personal preference? Thanks, love all your videos!
It's just personal preference, I guess 🙂
Hi Margarete! I recently bought a Zutter binding tool on Facebook marketplace. It came with a package of larger coils. I was thinking of buying some smaller ones from Amazon, but I thought I would ask you what size yours are that you used on the glue books you have in this video. I really like them! Especially the one your dog chewed on. I’m currently having issues with our 6 month old Lab puppy chewing. He wouldn’t have stopped at the corner. He would have demolished the whole book. Anyway, if you could give me some guidance on what size coils I should use, I would appreciate it.
Hi Tracee, I have 3/4 inch coils and those have been working fine for me. I pick about 20 to 25 papers and then bind them.
Thank you so much. It’s hard to tell by looking at the open coils. I love how your books look where you’ve used them!
thoroughly enjoy this video - I don't have a zutter but it's on my christmas / birthday list!! Do you take the pages out to collage them or do you collage in the book?
I collage straight in the book. That's working out just fine. Thanks for asking. 💙
Oh I'm new to all this. I'm going to give it a go. Do you have a Facebook group?
I have a group. It's not on Facebook. It's here: collective.margaretemiller.com/feed
I really like your glue book. What do people do with them??
Thanks. People who make them usually keep them
What size rings did you use for this, please? (What size do you use for 20 page books?). Your rings don’t seem oversized for the thickness of the book.
I used 3/4 inch coils and I think it works well. It's not too big. 👍🏻
How many pages do you put in your glue books?
Right around 20 pages. That's plenty. 😉💜👍🏻
How is a "glue book" used? What's the origin? Thank you!!
