i always hear "classic fm" in my local radio, were they usually have some great songs from the 80s and 90s were lots of good music was made, and yesterday this song popped out. i was born in the 90s but i highly appreciate this songs, they have such a rythm and i no longer hear so often this simple brilliance on actual songs. bravo martha davis!!
the summer my family got cable my sister and i went beserk over mtv. i can remember singing "shame on meeeee, shame on you.." in front of the mirror and the tune still lingers in my memory for some reason. funny how the brain works sometimes. this takes me wayyyy back
to me this is one of the most coolest underated songs of the 80s.Although it only got to #21 on the charts in September of 85,this would be the last top 40 hit for The Motels after having great songs like "Only The Lonely"...."Take The L" and "Suddenly Last Summer"
Chaooooooooooooooooo.
porfin !!! he buscado este video desde hace mucho tiempo, first time i listen this song was in 1986 if i remeber and i simply love the sound of that voice. thanks for this videos. long live to youtube.
Man, I'm gonna start cryin' I love the Motels that album "Shock" is way out of print. I bought it as a cut-out cd in '87 for $5! The record cost me $8 new in '85. But it needs a re-pressing for those of you that don't have it
Thanks for finding this! I was in junior high this year and actually remember seeing the premier of this video on Mtv. I wish Mtv was the same as it was then...
Martha appeared on "Hit Me Baby One More Time" about a year ago, but lost to PM Dawn. I felt bad, because they made her sing a truncated version of Only the Lonely. Not just an 80s singer. She's much more than that, as this video and song proves.
Shame...That's what I've been feeling because of my reaction to some issues at work yesterday. It's a decent job, but I don't like being talked down to and having to repeat myself constantly. It's some tough stuff, but the lyric "Shame on me/Shame on you" describes where I'm at...Shame on me for being frustrated, shame on the managers for not understanding where I'm coming from. I'm just glad that October 31st is over...It's now a new month, and hopefully a new day.
En argentina la escuche una sola vez un día en un programa de radio llame y la pedí que l pasarán. La gente de la radio quedo fascinada e inmediatamente pidió saber el álbum.
Oddly, everyone remembers other L.A. bands from the era (Motley Crue, Chile Peppers, X, Germs, Go Gos, etc.) but The Motels had a way bigger scene. The Motels were the biggest band in L.A. at the time.
Shame on the record companies and execs who didn't properly promote her...especially when she went solo with Policy... She should have been SO much bigger than she was, but a phenomenal talent, nonetheless...and those eyes!
My favorite song from the Motels. Marhta was definitely an exotic beauty. The only thing I didn't like about the video were all the scenes and images of the roaches. Very disgusting. Not something you want to see if you're watching tv in the dark or eating a snack.

80s are the best for music...and this song witnesses it...you can clearly hear good guitars, bass, drums piano and keyboards...very good....
I haven't heard this in 20 years. It's never on the radio. Takes me right back to 12th grade. Five stars.
Martha is so beautiful and I have always loved this video since it first came out back in the 80's.
Talk about a nice trip down nostalgia lane. For some reason I thought to search this song today. It just "popped" into my head. Those were the days..

Martha Davis and Ann Wilson of Heart are the ones who started my Love of Brunettes.
This song was The Motels' third largest hit. I am not sure why it's been relatively forgotten. I always loved this song.
