    When my grandma died in 1993 at the age of 53 my mom was at the hospital and was a wreck, my mom was an only child. My dad had to keep telling my mom they had to leave because he just KNEW what was happening. They got to my grandma's house and my moms cousin's and their wives were in the house ransacking it. The wives had clip boards and were divying up her stuff and my grandma had money and a ton of expensive jewelry. My grandma had gone Christmas shopping for her grandchildren, my brother, sister and I already so one of her spare bedrooms had wrapped christmas gifts in it. These horrid greedy people opened our gifts and divided them up for their children too and my little sister cried on Christmas day (grandma died on November 29th) because she saw my moms cousin's kids opening gifts that she knew my grandma got specifically for her. It was sad and I'll never forget the audacity of those people.

      Family can sometimes be so greedy and evil. This happened with my grandma while she was still alive. She'd moved to assisted living and my aunt, uncle and their 8 mostly adult children showed up at my grandma's house with trucks, trailers and even a horse trailer and started taking all her things. My grandma had promised to give her granddaughter in law a dresser but the granddaughters freaked out because she wasn't technically related so they felt she shouldn't get anything . It was a mess. Luckily my mom showed up and was able to get the things her mom had promised her. My husband's family did the same thing when his grandma died. She was poor and didn't have anything of monetary value but the siblings started fighting over little things. It was so bad that some of them never spoke again(this was 3 decades ago). People can be so petty and greedy. It's sad.

    This happens all the time. I hate seeing families squabble over property they they think are owed to him. My uncle was well off and when he passed family started showing up at his house and tried to remove items that they believed were owed to them. The lawyer had to put locks on all the doors. He hadn’t even been dead for 24hours before everyone’s greed kicked in.

      I'm so sorry, that's wrong! All I can think of is wanting to yell at everybody, "WHAT WOULD THE DECEASED THINK ABOUT THIS?" How are you honoring their memory by fighting over possessions? I could understand a small argument over Mom's wedding dress, Dad's high school jersey, pictures, etc. because of the sentimental value, but to be greedy because of financial gain seems extra sad, and disrespectful. 😢

      I know my greedy half brother couldn't wait till our mom died he embezzled our moms estate! He kept screaming that their was no money in her estate when he was applying for hospice and the hospice worker for citrus valley hospice told him how to commit medi- cal fraud to get medi- cal to cover the costs I heard how and what he did and reported him and the worker! When medi- cal heard that they were furious! Saying she had no business telling people how to commit medi- cal fraud! And the IRS was notified and they are investigating him also!!!!!!

      That’s what wills are for. My parents had a Will and I am youngest of five and I was left their home, contents etc. I have siblings and took care and paid for both of them when they died. My two sisters paid for nothing but wanted everything when they died. Family can be evil and just break ties with them. Have not seen them in 20 years best decision I have ever made. They are thieves, alcoholics and you can’t be around them. Make your own family my friends are now family.

      Though smoking can cause an increase in heart failure, what better option would you suggest for the stress? Drinking? That can cause liver disease. Some type of mood stimulant? Those can also cause dependency and have been know to also cause health problems. Drugs, oh wait, those are not only illegal but also highly toxic to one’s body. There is always weed, which is legal in many states, but weed causes one to be “inebriated” in its own way. I.E., slowing if motor skills, meaning less reactive times, the inability to work due to the afore mentioned inebriated state it can put one in and, it has been known to be a gateway drug to other, more addicting and harmful narcotics. So, tell us again how the person should quit smoking.

    • @24tommyst
      @24tommyst Рік тому

      @@heatherbolen9252 They should quit smoking. Unless you're bipolar or something like me you don't need "mood stimulants" or whatever you're talking about, and alchol is TERRIBLE for stress relief and depression in the long-term. Go for a walk. Meditate using an app. Talk about your issues with others, joke about it. Take some l-theanine or drink some green tea. Do a hobby. Etc, etc, etc. Smoking is never the answer. I used to smoke a cigar almost every day but overall I feel more relaxed now due to better self care.

      @baneblackguard584 2 роки тому +2

      doesn't even matter all the documents are in order, people can challenge it in probate, and often do. having it all documented is better than not, but don't think it solves anything, it's just another piece of ammunition.

    • @CuriousGoodsJessica

      How sad that any family member would challenge the deceased person wishes! My Grandma had us do a video of her showing what every item she owned was, who it came from or where, & who would receive it when she passed. We looked through every item she had from birth onward, it's a memory I'll never forget of learning everything I never knew about her. She passed in 1992, I have many things of hers including her bridal shower album from the 40's.

    I don’t envy “ The Job “ you must do. I grew up in a town squeezed between Newark and Jersey City NJ. My Dad and Uncle were on the job for more than 30 years each.
    I saw it daily. When I applied and took the written test , I scored a 100% and came out top of the list.
    10 days before the physical trials i tore the ligaments in my right ankle. I took the physical and missed by 3 seconds or so , between the cast and torn ligaments it was a bitch!
    My Dad and uncle were thrilled. The job had changed so much then and that was 1990. The shit you put up with is insane! Playing nursemaid and couples therapist is crazy. No nightsticks anymore is wrong, they were the best way to put down a serious threat. God bless and be careful…. Never forget that many of us are with you.

    Had to turn that camera off real quick so u could tell ur recruit how stupid that call was lol kudos to ur recruit for being stern and putting that guy in his place. They literally wanted the city to pay for blood tests bc a neighbor is gossiping???? Absolute insanity! Thanks so much for sharing the vlogs, and teaching recruits. You’re an amazing officer and have a natural ability to communicate and be personable, I think recruits will learn a lot from you.

      My mom told us a LONG time ago to write our names on the bottom of things we wanted in permanent marker. There are 5 of us (well more…but she has 5 of us). We’re all nuts. So I’m quite sure some will have marked through names and written theirs. Ha! I get a necklace I bought her when I graduated to thank her. Can’t exactly write your name on that so I told her seeing that that’s the only thing I really need to have of hers to write it somewhere for me. She said everyone knows that goes to you. I don’t see any of us fighting over anything. We’ve lost our real dad and our stepdad. We know better. But I’ve seen families I never thought would act like that become very foolish. Shouldn’t be that way.

    Just stumbled on this channel, and it is nice to see the clear transparency and insight it provides with respect to yourself and those you interact with. Not all cops are bad, and it is unfortunate so much mistrust exists (albeit rightly so in a lot of cases, unfortunately) right now between the public and law enforcement.
    Thank you for sharing and hope you continue to stay safe and continue sharing your experiences in your duty serving the public.

    Deaths have a funny way of bringing out the worst in people. Always make sure everything is in writing (wills & such) & everyone included has copies to avoid this.

    The patience of Law Enforcement Officers just amazes me. You guys do such a great job with people and I know that cannot be easy!
    Note to the first cop at the feuding brother's house: Conversate is not a word. The word he wanted was converse. It's, "I, as a cop" not "Me, as a cop". I taught elementary school for 33 years and can't stop teaching grammar😁.

    My Mom just passed away after 55 years of marriage to my Dad. 2 weeks later my Grandma, Mom's Mom, passed too (yes, c). Dad barely came through it and he's getting stronger everyday. There are 4 of us siblings, all between 44-51 years old and I'm the oldest. We all have kids, and I myself have 14 grandchildren. It was a gigantic shock for all of us, and immediately we had to get Dad out of that huge house (all 3 of them lived together), move him into his motorhome, and bring here to western Washington be closer to us. I cannot express the grief....
    That was last August. I am so thankful and proud to say that athough we had a few moments of tension, we ALL worked together to make sure everyone was at peace with what they received of theirs. There were thousands of decisions to be made in a very short time, but we accomplished it, and successfully. Yes there was money - no not a ton - but plenty to take care of Dad comfortably, and what we received we are grateful for.
    We never expected to have to deal with this late last year, but when I see a video like this, it reminds me of what we avoided by being selfless and patient with eachother, and allowing LOVE to reign supreme as we moved through that grueling process. I feel so sad for those brothers acting liked idiots after the Dad passed. Honestly it's extremely disrespectful to their dad's memory, and they really should be ashamed.
    Thanks for the great content and I'm sorry for the long message.
