I wish we could get more spooky dungeons or content in FFXIV. As a dirty coward, I'm quite fond of these horror segments without actually playing a horror game or watching a horror movie!
Nice to know UA-cam still directs people to my little corner of the internet now and then. Even more pleasant to see a familiar face! I hope my labors satisfy any lore based desires you may have.
How fitting that the Padjal once again are in a round about way tied once more to the void. I never knew they where the first owners of such a manor. Great video.
Well well, I never knew that Haukke manor had originally belonged to the Padjal. And to be honest at the time I did it as a dungeon I lacked the understanding of the lore and of the voidsent to understand what had truly happened to Aldine. Next time I play it, likely with my second character I will know exactly what I face. Thank you. I may never have known without your teachings.
(6.2 spoilers) Now that we have some insight on the mortality (or lack thereof) of voidsents, we can wonder if maybe Amandine is still out there somewhere, although it would probably not be a good idea to cleanse her soul from darkness considering she had already gone mad before she turned.
If Haulicarnaus and Lady Almondeeznuts are somehow still around in the void, do you think we'll run into them on the 13th? I hope so, so we can maybe actually talk to Lady Almondeeznuts and see if mentioning her former servant in gridania will actually make her feel any regret for her actions.
Ah, wonderful! A tale I have long awaited! Permit me to ask, have you any intention of covering the lore of the Gridanian Goldsmith who was involved with Amandine?
Well, should you feel the urge, it's a fun little puzzle that might make a good video. No pressure though! Beggars can't be choosers, and you've clearly been working hard (and it's paying off 🙂). Either way, thank you for this lovely video. 😄
I feel like Gridania has more trouble with voidsent that any other region besides maybe Coerthas. I wonder if they’re leftovers from the war of the magi.
so many places that are dungeons werent always dungeons it seems alot of dungeons were places of tranquility or holiness but ended up corrupted and misused over time. Even without ascians I wonder if a Zodiark apocalypse was inevitable because people of this world have a tendency of damaging the world themselves.
Yo I just realized who this story is loosely based on! Elizabeth Balthory. Again REALLY loosely based on her but it adds up. (If you subtract the ascians and void)
I am somewhat surprised that it is a Duskwight. Considering Duskwights generally aren't that well regarded, and might have a particular grudge against Gridania, considering Gridania's birth was Gelmorra's demise.
While not as common, some Duskwights eventually embraced the future Gridania promised. We see this as some of them have become respected leaders within the Twin Adder as well as members of various Guilds.
I'm not sure why, but in the in-game description of the dungeon Amandine is listed as a Wildwood Elezen, not Duskwight. Not sure if there is some discrepancy between the duty finder listing and the actual lore, but it's always been weird to me.
Hmm it’s almost ironic how such a spiritually strong place was twisted towards evil. Although… while it’s a guess on my part as we don’t have any definitive proof… if we assume that certain places thick with aether can become weaker with regards to the fabric of reality (and I mean the crystal tower is a veritable beast of power and it’s able to slip between worlds) then it may be possible that the irony was forced. Maybe not planned exactly to turn it into a voidsent nest but if it was a seat of power and made communication easier with the elementals then I could see the connivances of the ascians stirring the pot to disrupt that communication. Or at least that’s a possibility. Not every bad thing has a scary ascian shaped boogeyman behind it but at the same time their plots and methods have expanded across virtually all venues to create the chaos they require. I do think there’s something to aetherically dense places being more liable to tear into other worlds but I might just be thinking about being able to see Aglaia now who knows
Never knew it was pronounced like "Hawk" i always read it in my head as "Haw-Kay". That being said very in depth and great video as always. I'm just curious if you know how the version of Halicarnassus in HM Hard differs from the version created by omega?
Not to downplay the Calamity, but why do I get the feeling the extent of her disfigurement was like...a small scratch on her cheek. Someone that vain and narcissistic would definitely lose their marbles over the smallest of infractions
What happened to Haukke Manor? Well it’s the site for an All Saints Wake party, hosted by… voidsent! I wanna know more about the Impresario & Continental Circus, the Gruff family, and the legendary Great Gourd. Most of these are Voidsent that break all rules, natural and unnatural. Btw, if you stay inside the All Saints Wake version of Haukke Manor when it’s open, you can stay there forever! I have a character who’s been in there since the 2019 All Saints. Ultimate Housing. You can do Duties just fine, you’ll return to the Manor. Just every year leave and get supplies!
Didn't they change the identity of the family from Duskwight to Wildwood in some patches in the dungeon description? Though aside this amazing video like always 😊

You might yet get your wish in 6.2...
funny how this pops up in my recommended just as 6.2 is recently released

You make the lore better than than the scenes themselves!
That's very kind of you!
The irony of Haukke Manor's origins is crazy. Thanks for covering this as it's one of my favorite dungeons.
The irony is so thick you can cut it with a knife.
@@SynodicScribe that or a Warrior's Axe.
Must be from all the blood.
Ive been waiting for this one! It’s one of my favorite dungeons. I can’t wait to explore it again after watching this.
Hope I did it justice!

Does this mean we're eventually gonna see dungeon delves of all of ARR? That'd be awesome.
I'll eventually cover EVERY dungeon. It'll just take me a while. lol
@@SynodicScribe THAT is something i really look forward too!
Yesss I'd love to see more Dungeon lore explored like this!
I wonder if we'll see any tiebacks to Haukke Manor in any of the new content since we're now focusing on the Thirteenth Shard and the Voidsent?
I wonder if our adventures into the 13th will show familiar faces
Awesome! I had no idea there was so much history to this dungeon. Love the video.

hm, maybe. I just try to glance of the dungeon material in these videos. But I'm not opposed to covering side stories!

You're not entirely wrong.

I can't believe after the update on arr dungeons she still has the same problem for over dpsing
Still the Hardest Dungeon for ARR!
(Hard mode indeed)!
I had no idea it was just pronounced like "Hawk". I always pronounced it as "How-k-key" in my mind. >
