I spent a year in St john's, before moving to France two years ago, and even tho I am not from Canada, I must say that I miss Newfoundland like I never missed any other place on heart. Simply love this place.

The sound in a lot of the video I filmed of us out and about (oot and aboot if you're my people, as it were) was incredibly windy, and frankly I couldn't stand listening to it when I was editing! So I just decided to slip it behind the audio of me talking. I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

My family lived in st Anthony Newfoundland for quite a while and we still go back in the summers (we live in Ontario now). Newfoundland is one of my favourite places to be, i love the ocean, the moose, and puffins!

Here's a few of my favorite places within the area.. Bowring park, Burgs Ice cream parlor, Cape Spear, and the Bell Island ferry in Portugal Cove (20 minutes outside of St.John's) Have fun exploring!

Strange, I'm from Newfoundland and I've never thought about this island the way that you described it. I feel like this video has given me a new appreciation for what I'm surrounded by. I'm not from St. John's, but I'm from a smaller place around 4 hours away. I guess I just kind of forgot how beautiful it is here and how not every place has the landscape that we do. Thank you for reminding me to appreciate my roots.
I went on a trail where I had that feeling in Spain. It was called La Ruta de Las Xanas, the route of the fairies. and it was about 3 ft wide the whole way with what felt like a straight dropoff into this tiny riverbed and there were no railings, only ropes on the walls and only for some short bits, not the whole way. Scary as hell for someone afraid of heights.
Haha, yes I was at Folk Fest! I was with my sister and her friends. Did you enjoy the show? I had never heard of Mo Kenney before, she's very talented! Had to look up a bunch of her stuff when I got home!

I might eventually but I don't know, other than Rupaul's Drag Race I don't watch very much Reality TV, the drama and situations are super contrived and intentional and I find that hard to relate to. Of course it's interesting to watch for the artistry, so I might eventually check it out.
When I was watching you drive my first thought was Kiki's Delivery Service! Glad im not alone there. I'm from Onatrio as well and now I'm definitely going to be checking out St John's this summer.

my grandparents are from the rock too. their accents exist and so my own has kinda stuck. but yeah like, newfoundland is one of my favourote places. when i went i was mostly in harbour bay, but my visit to st johns was awesome. i love the city and want to go back.

Newfoundland! Whatya at? I haven't made it out there, but I grew up in Fort McMurray, AB, which is sort of considered the third largest city in Newfoundland; about a third of the population were from NF, there to work the oilsands. Love the post, now I want to go there even more!
Haha nope another trip by myself! It's actually been awhile since I've seen him, long distance is the pits. Earrings are from a store called Original on Queen St. in Toronto! I have no idea what designer or anything they are, they came with no information. :( Might just be heart gems glued on pegs for all I know haha but I had to have them, I love iridescent stones.

My mum is from Newfoundland and we live in Nova Scotia, the same thing happens with her accent when she talks with her sisters aw x
