Wow my grandparents lived there in the Hollow .All my Uncles and grandfather died of Black Lung from the Coal Mines .Good Country People but I sure was glad my dad decided to get out of it .My Parents are and grandparents all buried at Glencoe Cemetery .I do enjoy the beauty when I visit though
My profile picture is a Norfolk southern train coming out of natural tunnel and my grand parents lived in the valley of Big Stone Gap Virginia. I will always remember those mountains.
My father and his relatives are scattered all over Powell Valley (Appalachia, Big Stone Gap & East Stone Gap). it is always good to come and visit the valley once in a while. My grandparents are buried in the valley, too.
I watched this because I'm looking to buy a house there. I've never been there before, but my friend moved there & she loves it she bought a house there already. It's odd my dad's name was Harry Mead one of the spelling's is meador, meaden, Meade so in a strange way I'm drawn to the beauty of it.
