New Persona video will go up tomorrow! Just wanted to throw that out there for those of you who were wondering. Like I said in the video, I struggled quite a bit with one for some reason. My mom also came into town for a couple days as well, which sort of delayed posting for a bit too. Also I wanted to include his relationship with Ryoma in this video as well, but couldn’t really find a place to fit it. Their dynamic is really interesting to me because Kaito mentions that as a kid he saw Ryoma as a hero since he was in tennis club. I think that was why he was so hard on him in the game tbh. Other than regretting his harsh words towards Ryoma though, I don’t feel like their dynamic contributed too much to Kaito’s overall development though. Which seemed like sort of a shame, since it’s a cool concept. Maybe I can find another video to talk about that in later down the line. Anyways hope you guys enjoy the video!
Kiyondo never did anything to earn it besides yelling. Kaito earned it by BEING the stereotype itself. He spent the entire game being a bro to Shuichi (and to an extent to Maki).
But the friendship between Mondo and Taka was probably the best experience in his life. Through Mondo, Taka actually made a friend, and when Mondo was executed, Taka was completely heartbroken. Only through Alter Ego was he able to cope with his loss (admittedly in a terrible way), but even though one was gone, their friendship and Mondo's ideals went on. If thats not the truest bro of all, I dont know what is.
I appreciate Kaito. I didn't expect him to die off because his design was so interesting but i really didn't expect to like him at all before playing. I'm glad you pointed out how he does show doubt before going back to his confident personality. Most people miss that or don't care to look and just write him off as a happy-go-lucky kind of character. He puts on this facade of always being on the right side but you can almost see this facade breaking down in Gonta's trial where he desperately clings to that belief, realising more and more that he isn't in the right. Kaito was portrayed as someone who was a good judge of character but it's kind of disappointing that he didn't try to help other characters who were clearly having major issues after ch3. Like Gonta, Miu and Himiko. I think it would have been interesting to at least see him attempting to help Gonta and then having to convict him as a murderer. It just didn't make a lot of sense that he didn't take serious action when Gonta was basically about to wrestle an exisal because he felt powerless. I like the contrast between Ouma's villain complex and Kaito's hero complex. Didn't really notice this aspect before. Neat Good insight on the character! Keep it up :3
He tried to help those he knew how to help. Miu was a very hard one to help as she didn't care for others even if she secretly wanted friends. Himiko was not having issues after chapter 3,she was finding herself, and that can only be done by yourself, and if you meant before those events, she had been taken in by our resident whacko priestess, so she was beyond Kaito's help. And Gonta was a hard one to help because his question was almost impossible to answer (how exactly could Gonta help? He really was no use to the group beyond being a nice guy). Let'snot forget Kokichi was being the bigger threat during that period and Kaito focused his attention on stopping him (which is precisely what Kokichi wanted). There's other characters he failed to help like Ryoma who Kaito admits chose not to help because his attitude dissapointed him extremely (Kaito played tennis in middle school and Ryoma was his hero during those days). Basically, Kaito merely tries to be a hero, but he was not a superhuman capable of fixing everyone. And as shown when he CHOSE not to help Ryoma, he also could let his personal feelings get in the way of his judgement.
LeonGun8 Rather than /choosing/ not to help Hoshi, I feel it's more like he did want to help, or someone to help him, but everytime he talked to Hoshi his feelings got the best of him and he just ended up speaking harshly. Hints that he did want Hoshi to get better are how he regrets the way he talked to him after his death, how he was quite down when he saw his motive video and in the development plan, there is how he wants Hoshi to open up to Monomi, and then there is an event where he actually manages to interact properly with Hoshi at last.
LeonGun8 wouldn't it make sense for him to want to help others after not helping ryoma? Himiko was clearly very lost after ch3. 2 of her friends died. She didn't know how to change and what to do. Kind of similar to Saihara so i don't see why he wouldn't include her or at least try to include her into their group. Sure, it wouldn't be easy to help Gonta but the problem is that he didn't really try. When he saw Maki distancing herself from the group and Saihara feeling guilty, he went to them directly and supported them. Gonta was also feeling extremely guilty and powerless so it's a little weird that Kaito didn't do the same thing he did for the other two. I'm not dissing the character or anything but thus kinda bothered me after ch3
I just wanna discuss the problem with having multiple characters to help. The focus on the specific characters would go down because more characters means it would be harder for Kaito to manage. Himiko was perfectly fine on her own after he development. After the death of her two friends, she finally let her emotions out with the help of Ouma as she was trying to figure things on her own. Remember that specific characters need specific help. Shuichi and Maki needed that help while Himiko was fine. Besides, during the third trial, Kaito, Shuichi, and Ouma were the ones trying to cheer Himiko up into finding the truth. As for Gonta, Kaito tells him to stop crying multiple times and trying to encourage him throughout the game, although not as focused as those of Shuichi and Maki. As for Miu, it's really difficult because of her attitude, 'nuff said. Remember that Kaito is not a god that is able to help all people. Kaede, like Kaito, is not perfect and is unable to rally the group as successfully. The most he can do is target the characters individually, which is extremely challenging counting the factors of how many he's trying to help, the attitudes of the characters, or the circumstances of the killing game.
SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILER Kaito Momota Status: Bro level as high as the Stars > Bro > Can't be tamed by some smoll liarliarpantsonfire > Super crushed on sushigirl >literally the only blackened who doesn't die from the punishment AND DOES SO WITH A SMILE > ABSOLUTE BRO
Kaito's valiant optimism as the hero archetype was incredibly meaningful for me. It reflected my sensitivity & lack of self-confidence, and my willingness to assert & believe in myself more than I have. He's kind of like a muse for me, as I see a part of myself like Kaito now that encourages me toward confident risk taking- often in insanely theatrical ways. He's probably my favourite character in all of V3 because I like his design, character and philosophies. And despite his masculine energy drive which can be a bit harsh, he also has a feminine receptivity to and trust in the potential of himself and others.
I feel you. Shuichi reflects my insightful personality. I see through what I believe to be false, but I don't know enough sometimes to trust in my outlook. Is what I believe true? How much of it is? I'm not anxious, but Shuichi's waves of confidence trying to trust in what he knows and what he finds out resembles me. And that's why he struck me as one of the better of the Danganronpa protagonists. (Personally, of course) As he grew to become more confident in himself, I felt like I could also. I want to be right. I don't like being blind-sighted by facts. I want to change myself for the better. Always. I guess that's partly why Danganronpa V3 hit me so hard. It's more of Truth vs. Lies, than Hope vs. Despair. And after completing the series, I want to find truth more know, cheesy as it sounds. I want to trust in my judgement to make the right decision when it's needed. I want that self-confidence, combined with the comfort of knowing all the variables. That's why I love Shuichi so much.
I love Kaito's character development and his change in the game. The writing and the subtle nuances in his character design and the way they made him act and his change into the 5th chapter was fantastic. I feel he is one of the best written characters in the series and that Team Danganronpa put their writing into the game brilliantly to really make Kaito stand out and have his characterization and growth happen in an extremely well paced out sequence of events. I can say that I believe Kaito to be one of my top 5 characters in the whole series.
I have really low self esteem, similar to Maki I guess. I honestly think I’m worthless and a waste of space. I love Kaito so much because he’s such a big comfort character when it comes to my self esteem. It’s a shame he died, but I guess that’s the aim of the game. To bring the viewers to despair.
@@claireshim7313 Yeah, it's really annoying. Kokichi died because he asked, in the 3rd trial (japanese version), Kaito accidentally called Kiyo a homophobic slur but that was mistranslated, and also, it's not like people hate outer space. Kaito has a lot of hate in his hands, but then KOKICHI JUST HAD TO FLEX BECAUSE *HE* HAS A LOT OF FANS.
He's hated for a pretty weird reason. He killed Kokichi, but Kokichi made the plan and made Kaito kill him because of the ending killing game, maki becomes blackend stuff. Huh.
Not deep enough?! This was way deeper than I was expecting. I thought Kaito would be an easy analysis. Give your some credit Weeby do something this deep in 17 minutes and not be boring is amazing. I am curious what an anime review or analysis would look like from you. Your analysis skills and dedication remind me of UA-cam channels Mother's Basement and Game Explain analysis videos. On a personal note l like Kaito. Even though I could see through his hero complex, I liked him because he was friendly and upbeat character which I felt Suichi and Maki needed.
He's my best boi but I also feel there's not too much to analyze there? The whole gentleman obsession is outlined and explained pretty thoroughly by his free time events. The only thing to talk about that wouldn't be obvious would be his relationship with Ouma and why he committed murder.
Momota is one of my favorite characters, and I think you have done a very great analysis on him, I feel many people ignore many traits when it comes to him, or somehow twist his flaws to make him pass off as if he never cared for the group (which makes absolutely no sense), or never trusted them (it was blind trust, but he definitely trusted those he wanted to). To add some of my own thoughts about him About him not being as confident as he lets on, there would also be his LH Scene where he thinks Saihara wouldn't reciprocate his feelings, which sort of implies he feels he shouldn't have flaws and weaknesses the way he has. Something else I like to point out and that I pointed out both times I analyzed Momota's character is that I believe his desire to be his ideal, hero self in his words too, and that his advice seems to have a sort of duality to it, with him saying stuff he honestly believes in and backed up by good intentions, but with a very extravagant phrasing, so to make himself look cool, also that in the 5th trial, the look cool part just isn't there anymore. About that, I think in addition to what you have brought up, and his need to prove himself, etc, another side to him wanting to be a perfect hero is due to the fact he admires heroes and cool people in an innocent, almost childish way, after all Momota has quite the childish side, like when he says his reason to become an astronaut at first was 'because it looked cool' and the way idolized Hoshi for being an amazing athlete. To add something to the trust/distrust thing and Momota/Ouma, I feel it's worth mentioning how a balanced mix of both, the way Nanami would have been proud of, can be found in Saihara. For instance in chapter 1, he trusts Akamatsu and believes in her good intentions, but this doesn't prevent him from uncovering the truth of the case and exposing her as the culprit, the same goes for Gonta, as he believes in his kindness to the end, and Momota himself, whom Saihara just knows wouldn't kill for just any reason, but once again, exposes as a murderer. Chapter 5 as a whole, and Saihara's role in it is particularly interesting because with the lack of solid evidence pointing at the culprit, Saihara follows both Ouma's logic and Momota's trust to find the truth.
I will never get why people hate Kaito so much. Especially the people who obsess over Kokichi. I love them both, but I don't get why they hate Kaito. Most of the time it's reasons like, "I hate Kaito cause he killed Kokichi" or "I hate Kaito cause he's mean to Kokichi" or "I hate Kaito cause he's homophobic" or stuff like that. For the first thing, it was literally Kokichi's idea. He wanted to end the killing game. Kaito had to do it or Maki would get executed, and it was also to stop the killing game, which Kaito also wanted to do. Kokichi already forced him to drink the antidote, there was nothing else he could do to help Kokichi other than to help him with his plan. If he didn't do that, Kokichi would've died anyway and Maki would be the culprit. Kaito knew he was going to die soon anyway, he had to agree to it because he was going to die eventually anyway. Kokichi couldn't have done the plan on his own, he needed Kaito's help. Kaito didn't willingly want to kill Kokichi unlike Maki, but there was nothing else he could do, and it would be worse if he didn't agree to it. If you hate Kaito because he's "mean" to Kokichi, Kokichi wasn't being a very good person in the game. They didn't know his true intentions, which was that he didn't mean it and he only said that stuff so they'd believe him when he said he was the mastermind. Kokichi just seemed like a sadistic piece of shit to them because they couldn't tell he was lying during chapter 4 after Gonta's execution. I saw in a comment once someone said they wished Kaito helped Kokichi with his problems like he helped Maki and Shuichi, but it's not exactly his fault. Kaito's not that smart. Kokichi was a good liar, everyone believed him when he said he was the mastermind. Kaito probably couldn't tell Kokichi was lying, so I don't think it's his fault. If you hate him because of the "homophobic" thing it was only translated wrong, and he meant to only call him feminine. Although I do wish Kaito believed Kokichi's last words. Like he was literally dying, do you really think his last words would be a lie? Kaito overall just wanted to end the killing game and believed in everyone, he only didn't believe in Kokichi because he genuinely thought he was evil. But Kaito probably saw that Kokichi was genuine in chapter 5, and they ended up working together in the end. I don't care if you just dislike Kaito because of his personality or something or thought he was annoying, but if you hate him because he "killed kokichi" or "hated kokichi" then I'm just here to refute that.
Yeah F A C T S tho Also, can we please talk about how Kaito was the only one who noticed something was off with Kokichi after he'd (presumably) saw the Truth of the outside world? Yeah, he did punch him, but he said "What the hell has gotten into you" implying that he noticed Kokichi was acting different. Everyone else was like: Yeah Kokichi is just being a sadistic asshole again, but Kaito noticed that he was being more extreme than usual I really love their dynamic and AHGSUAHXDAB it made the game so much better to me, especially since they are super similar but just show it differently Like how Kaito doesn't trust anyone with his problems due to his hero complex or Kokichi trying to help the cast, just in veeery roundabout ways Aand I'm just rambling again If anyone's still reading, thanks OwO
I’m glad someone else thinks that way, honestly hating a Kaito because he killed Kokichi is a tell-tale sign that you just played the game in your sleep
I totally love ya for this! Kaito is my favorite DR character and I was so shocked and glad you did a video on him. You even said something's even I didn't notice at first
Aaah i'm so happy you uploaded this! Kaito is like my favourite character of all time and it upsets me that he gets a lot of hate! This was a good video and i'm glad you spend time making it. (Sorry for typos or anything, English isn't my first language ^^')
I don't think Kaito ever answered Maki's feelings back. He always kept everything on a friendship level (unlike Kaede and Shuichi's infatuation with one another). That's kind of sad in a way since Shuichi did at least knew his feelings were not one-sided. Maki had to see Kaito die without even a single word of love or affection.
I never even knew he got hate. Maybe Kokichi diehards? There seem to be a lot of posers who like to constantly keep the "Kokichi did nothing wrong" meme alive, and some actually believe it (and are not just screwing around).
this dude is my top danganronpa character and my life. he’s my top comfort character and has saved me probably more than once. it physically hurts when people hate on him.
Kaito’s belief in others reminds me of when Nagito said “Isn’t better to die believing in others rather than live by doubting others” (something like this was said in trial one)
Pretty much. We did learn he was the Ultimate Adventurer, if we're to assume his Bonus Scenes are to be believed (which IMO I think we can since scenes from the main game can corroborate that Rantaro hinted at having sisters, especially in scenes like when he shows he knew how to paint and take care of women nails).
Kaito's one of those characters I had a mixed reaction to (Chapter 5 made me lose my shit, though). Though most of his personality was left untouched in the official English translation, some lines from the original Japanese were straight up changed. I don't remember where exactly, but there are some instances in the original Japanese where instead of saying "coward" or "weak," Kaito uses a Japanese homophobic slur (which still works with the whole old-fashioned beliefs thing, but it was still upsetting). His treatment of Shuichi post-Chapter 4 was also frustrating to me (though I agree with the analysis that Shuichi symbolized his shortcomings), as in his freetime events he condemns that sort of reaction to being proven wrong. HOWEVER, at the same time Chapter 5 proved just how much he cared about everyone, even willing to work with someone he despised to save everyone else. Plus, his desire to help Shuichi and Maki shows that in the end, he just wants to help others not just with short-term problems, but with how they view themselves.
@@natiao3589 Possibly, but every time I came across someone mentioning the word was homophobic in nature, it was via let's plays by bilingual people in the original Japanese (I was impatient and watched them before the official English release) either having to pause to look up the word or outright refusing to translate.
Honestly his character could’ve easily fallen into a lot of pitfalls, but I’m glad he didn’t. In fact he was portrayed really well. His “do what you feel is right” attitude has its two sides of the coin, he guessed correctly guessed that it wasn’t him or Maki despite them being the only suspects left, but he also guessed wrong when Kokichi manipulated Gonta into becoming the blackened. There were also more realistic consequences for his actions like him and Shuichi getting a dent in their relationship. Although he was a bit arrogant at times he was still a genuinely good person, and everyone liking him didn’t feel forced at all. I could easily see him being a protagonist in another story. Whelp, RIP. At least he got to go to space.
I always found Kaito interesting and he’s one of my new favorite characters in V3, but I gotta admit I like him so much more than I would just because of his death and how he pissed Monokuma off because of it
Kaito is best boy :( I too noticed how similar he is to Kamina(one of my favorite characters of all times), so maybe that's why I get so frustrated when I see people hating on him. On my first time playing the game, I didn't noticed at all how deep his flaws were, and I actually thought he was a great hero until the end, his death broke my heart. I never blamed him for being an "idiot", mostly because I'm too, lmao. The only problem I have with him is how he repeated the same line to Saihara over and over again to motivate him, and how Saihara reacted like it was amazing everytime, kkkkk, but I understand that it may have something to do with the issues they both were facing, so I can accept it, it's not a big deal anyway. Kaito is in my top 5 characters of all the danganronpa series(1.Ouma, 2.Komaeda, 3.Hajime, 4.Kaito, 5.Kaede), that's how big my love for him is, I can't even decide if I would prefer to bring Kaito or Ouma back to life, both of their deaths were heartbreaking to me, and their class trial was my favorite, mostly because of Kaito pretending to be Kokichi and being hilarious, but the murder case on it's own was fun to solve too. And I loooove Kaito's and Kokichi's relationship, it was so interesting to see them reacting to each other, and how they cooperated in the end makes me so happy, I actually ship them a lot, lmao(in a healthy way), if they got along they would be such a great team. Anyways...Thank you for making an analysis on this precious man, he deserves it
Kaito is the guy that, if I ever hugged him, I'd feel a sense of security; almost as if he's some sort of father figure. ... Yeah, that's a good way to describe him. "Fatherly!"
A few times in each game, I cried a bit but for Kaito's death I actually fucking sobbed for hours. As soon as I saw that he was coughing up blood, I cried. Kaito, Kokichi and Rantaro were all my best bois (but rantaro died too soon for me to get truly attracted and while I loved Ouma, and did get emotional when I saw his death, Kaito was just the sweetest and I loved him so much) The smile he had when he died also made me emotional because I knew that he didn't want to die on Monokuma's terms. Fuck.
Ok Kaito is my overall favorite character out of all the games Kaito is such a great character he try’s his best to help people and I love that about him!!!
after watching both kaitos and kokichis analysis i can safely say that these two characters practically are the same, trying to bring everyone together, pushing people to be the best they can (maki for kaito and keebo for kokichi) which both work, they both hate the killing game so much and want to end it. They just express this in VERY different ways
No one: Me: Kaito: *YOU MAY SAY I'M A FOOL, FEELING THIS WAS THAT I DO! YOU CAN CALL ME POLLYANNA, SAY I'M CRAZY AS A LOON, I BELIEVE IN SILVER LININGS AND THAT'S WHY I BELIEVE IN YOU!*
I've always enjoyed your videos (they're always very interesting), and your analysis and theory videos are always wonderful and make me think. I'm kind of new to your channel, but I would like to see an analysis of Kiibo. Seeing comparisons of his insecure side and confident side as well as tracking his character development through V3 would be a sweet treat!
This video was posted a while ago but my opinion on Kaito and Kokichi are that they represent the two stereotypes of how people would act in a killing game. One is the “villain”/“evil one” always lying, being mischievous, the villain type, not trusting anyone, the one you’d expect to be the first killer. While the other is the hero believing in everyone, trying to save everyone, always trying to be positive, the basic heroic leader.
I think Kaito and Kokichi represent yin and yang, Kokichi is black lies while still having some truth to the, Kaito white truths still have lies underneath.
If weed man..aka Yasuhiro Hagakure and luminary of the stars bro aka Kaito Momota meet?-. I could picture Yasuhiro predicting that kaito WILL go to space one day. And of course, a LOT of bromance. but I think Mondo and taka would be apart of there bromance too since they do treat each other as bros. I would picture them 4 as the Bromance squad
She did a Tenko one and half of it was basically Himiko. I don't think there's much point to a Himiko one anymore. I think she already even mentioned her most important backstory traits, which was the story about her Magician Master abandoning her after she surpassed him in skill.
Also, in chapter 4, its spoken as if all he wanted was to be right, when in fact all he wanted was to believe kokichi was wrong about the culprit. And honestly, so did I, it was one of the hardest trials to accept, and even after the trial it was hard to accept the truth...
Seems like Kaito and Kokichi are two sides of the same coin - equal but opposites, while still sharing many traits at the core. Their dynamic really does drive the main themes home - truth/lies, belief/doubt, and even hope/despair. And Shuichi survives and leads bc he learns to balance everything by watching these two as well as everyone else. Anyway I'd like to see either Angie or Shuichi next. Where's the poll?
Ngl When I first played I really wanted Kaito or even Shuichi be the mastermind it would have been such a twist and would have made me like Kaito more. Now looking back on Kaito he has become my second favorite character in danganropa (yes the entire series)
I love this analysis, but Kaito definitely wasn't raised by his grandparents. In his FTEs with Saihara, he says "When I was a kid, I'd go to my gramps' place to play sometimes". Whilst his traditional views may have come from them, he definitely wasn't raised by them since he only saw his grandfather "sometimes". This is when he's lying about adventures from his past, but it seems like such an arbitrary detail to lie about, and makes me think he's being honest about not seeing his grandparents often.

@@kaieatswater8969 _YES_
I appreciate Kaito. I didn't expect him to die off because his design was so interesting but i really didn't expect to like him at all before playing.
I'm glad you pointed out how he does show doubt before going back to his confident personality. Most people miss that or don't care to look and just write him off as a happy-go-lucky kind of character.

Lol KO Fully agreed

THANK YOU HES MY 1 FAVORITE BOI!!!
(Personally, of course)
As he grew to become more confident in himself, I felt like I could also.
Kaito Bromota
Yes

He's hated for a pretty weird reason. He killed Kokichi, but Kokichi made the plan and made Kaito kill him because of the ending killing game, maki becomes blackend stuff. Huh.
I hate him because he punched Shuichi and Kokichi
I dislike him because he was loud
Not deep enough?! This was way deeper than I was expecting. I thought Kaito would be an easy analysis. Give your some credit Weeby do something this deep in 17 minutes and not be boring is amazing. I still want my boy Gonta Gokuhara ;-; best big boi
Agree! I'd love to see an analysis o him!
he seemed pretty simple to me...
Robatic I know but still best big boi
Summer D because he knows miu gonna build stuff
To add some of my own thoughts about him
About him not being as confident as he lets on, there would also be his LH Scene where he thinks Saihara wouldn't reciprocate his feelings, which sort of implies he feels he shouldn't have flaws and weaknesses the way he has.
Yeah F A C T S tho
Also, can we please talk about how Kaito was the only one who noticed something was off with Kokichi after he'd (presumably) saw the Truth of the outside world? Yeah, he did punch him, but he said "What the hell has gotten into you" implying that he noticed Kokichi was acting different. Everyone else was like: Yeah Kokichi is just being a sadistic asshole again, but Kaito noticed that he was being more extreme than usual
I really love their dynamic and AHGSUAHXDAB it made the game so much better to me, especially since they are super similar but just show it differently
Like how Kaito doesn't trust anyone with his problems due to his hero complex or Kokichi trying to help the cast, just in veeery roundabout ways
Aand I'm just rambling again
If anyone's still reading, thanks OwO
I mean Kaito help Shuichi and Maki but didn't even try to help Ryoma who, not just was a hero for him before, but obviously has depression

Sparkly Larch i love the ship between him and maki
ikr I hate how Kaito gets lots of hate
and your English is fine! :D
Speaking of which, why *does* he get a lot of hate? I never really understood why liking him was considered a bad thing according to some fans...

God, why is Kaito such a great guy. I'm literally in love with him. I would marry any man like him. And thanks for this analysis, Weeby ❤
Wasn't the whole Kaito's homophobic issue claimed as a mistake of early unofficial translation though?

I always found Kaito interesting and he’s one of my new favorite characters in V3, but I gotta admit I like him so much more than I would just because of his death and how he pissed Monokuma off because of it
BABY BOY!!
Anyways...Thank you for making an analysis on this precious man, he deserves it
He’s my favorite character I love him
Kaito is the guy that, if I ever hugged him, I'd feel a sense of security; almost as if he's some sort of father figure.
... Yeah, that's a good way to describe him. "Fatherly!"
A few times in each game, I cried a bit but for Kaito's death I actually fucking sobbed for hours. As soon as I saw that he was coughing up blood, I cried. Kaito, Kokichi and Rantaro were all my best bois (but rantaro died too soon for me to get truly attracted and while I loved Ouma, and did get emotional when I saw his death, Kaito was just the sweetest and I loved him so much)
The smile he had when he died also made me emotional because I knew that he didn't want to die on Monokuma's terms. Fuck.

They just express this in VERY different ways

This video was posted a while ago but my opinion on Kaito and Kokichi are that they represent the two stereotypes of how people would act in a killing game. One is the “villain”/“evil one” always lying, being mischievous, the villain type, not trusting anyone, the one you’d expect to be the first killer. While the other is the hero believing in everyone, trying to save everyone, always trying to be positive, the basic heroic leader.

I hope that you cover Keebo next
Kaito dying before the execution is completed, despite the ending, is my favorite series moment.

Yes! My Favourite Danganronpa character! Nice job!
Bro was the literal definition of an OG
Kaito's the full package.
He's hot AND nice!
Kaito was an awesome character and an awesome guy. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Kaito could've been the Ultimate Hope in this game.
