I won this antenna at a race last year. Haven’t taken it off my HDO’s since. Love this thing. Paired perfectly with an axii long range antenna on my furiousfpv true-d v3.9 module.
Awesome just grabbed a set of these off racedayquads, i am super happy these are american products. That is a big win for the fpv community. We need more and more American made products coming back here.🚀🚀🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪💪
The guy who built them is Ryan Grubbs or Darrel Ogden. They are the ones who make those products at our shop. U.S. made products are unfortunately rare.
Just received mine today! Great! Looks good and now for a test flight. Might compare Aomway 5.8G 13dbi Diamond Directional Antenna just to see the difference.
Wow. amazing mate. I wish I knew which was the best antenna to buy. Need to get as much distance out of 5.8Ghz as possible. Flying one direction out, and back again.
Wow! Would you recommend retro fitting these on the a DJI Phantom 4 controllers or DJI Mavic controllers?? Or do you have to change you receiver antennas aswell??
How is the signal penetration behind trees at range with this vs the pepper box? Curious if I should upgrade to two of these or stick with my pepper box + patch for long range 5.8 down low?
Alex gave me one to run for months now...and folks....it's simply amazing...I mean awesomeness...you won't regret it. Punch through and range. If you run diversity pair this with the Ion and you are good to go
IBCrazy - I fly the DJI FPV system and would like to know the best spots on the DJI Goggles I should install the Crosshair Xtreme on? Should I put one or two on the goggles? Should one or two go on the two bottom receive positions? Should one go on the botton ( receive only) and one on the top ( rx & tx). Would really love to know and ready to buy at getfpv as they are in stock. Thank you for your time.
The best way to mount the Xtreme is with one on each of the top terminals. You can put them on the bottom as well if you like, or you can use omni antennas for the bottom such as the Minion. However, if you are planning on using 4X Crosshair Xtremes, I would recommend simply getting the Cyclops antennas. it is an array of 4 Crosshair Xtremes on a single back plate.
If you have your pepperbox tripod mounted, stick with it. If it is goggles mounted, you will probably find that the Crosshair Xtreme is better since few pilots hold their heads straight and level all the time while flying.
@@CAGreve1231 I've spent a lot of time practicing holding my head still and level with the pepper box directly mounted to my goggles but if I was doing any longer range flying I'd definitely look in to a tripod or other stable mounting system.
i have the 5.8ghz pepper box, thinking about changing to this as i dont do long distance but i fly in and out of derelict buildings and such, iam to believe this will be better due to beam width and penetration? struggling to get it to uk, tbs ship to uk but they havent had it in stock yet.
I personally feel this has more punch than a pepperbox. Others say the Pepperbox is better. It all depends on your environment. I punched a signal through a hill 1/4 mile away on 25mW transmit power with an Ion V2 and the Crosshair Xtreme in a live video in March.
@@CAGreve1231 thanks for the response. You are a freaking wizard, building stuff that can impeccably receive video signals from thin air. But I have no clue about RF. I really don't understand how a directional antenna with less gain (crosshair) will punch through objects better than one with higher gain(pep), but nevertheless, here I am with a *pepperbox xtreme* in my cart and yet you're telling me to get your more *inexpensive* option xD You rock lol!
@@Director-M - The antenna doesn't actually "punch through the object, but really just gathers up the bits from reflections. The pepperbox picks up a lot more parts due to the wider beam and thus the signal isn't always as clean as the crosshair Xtreme.
Video Aerial Systems Alex, have you pulled all the 1.3 G Pepperbox extreme antennas and if so, do you have a replacement coming out. I love my pepperbox, but I want something smaller and lighter to carry around.
It seems like there are 2 different versions: www.team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:vas_ch_ex_rhcp and www.defiancerc.com/collections/fpv/products/vas-crosshair-xtreme-5-8ghz-antenna-rhcp
I bought mine at Defiance RC. This thing is awesome! They have both the Crosshair Xtreme and the Pepperbox Xtreme in both 5.8 and 2.4 GHz - www.defiancerc.com/collections/fpv
Thanks for all your videos mate .They are all very informative and educational . Cheers from Australia .
getting that as soon as I can.... stoked..... you always put out the best of the best....
Glad to see you're still at it Alex. 👍

I just got a MadMushroom V2 and all I can say is WOW! Night and day difference! Going to get this Crosshair Xtreme next.
Nice work Alex! Going to get one ready for our Australian Summer :)
Been running one of these with an Ion on my goggles for a few months now, works really well.
Thanks Alex for another great product! cheers!

Sweet can’t wait to try the one I ordered!
AWESOME. my Buddy in Cleveland has one. It's awesome. I'll have to pick one up.

I wish you would do some video side-by-side comparisons.
I put a pair of these on a RapidFire/HDO and WOW! very close to zero break up all through my house and even going down to the basement.

Sweet....could you please do a similar video for the VAS 433 Mhz Microwave Diamond Antenna... Thanks!!!
hey mr.crazy, at what angle does this stop receiving signal?
also, is it gonna be available to purchase at racedayquads?
Can you post a link to the gain pattern - would like to see how it compares to a 8 turn helix. Thanks!
I have the previous gen...with ion on my goggles, in what situations would cross hair extreme be better?
Test it now, but red triple feed patch, sometimes better in long range(

I will likely replace my Pepperbox with this 👍🏼

Ok, Just buy one now, I hope it's better than my 5.8GHz SpiroNET Mini Patch Antenna ...

This definitely has better penetration. TBS should have stock. I will bug them for you ;)
@@CAGreve1231 awesome dude! Keep up the good work.
What is the advantage over a 10dB helical? (Appart from the size difference)
Beam width....
Would you say this can penetrate objects better than a pepperbox? If both were aimed the same.

Alex, IBCrazy as well! Where, how much, and what frequency’s?
1.3GHz, 2.4GHz, and 5.8GHz. $35 for the 5.8GHz. $45 for 2.4GHz.

@@sten6537 - They read the wrong line on the price sheet. The priced it at the 2.4GHz price by accident. I already talked to them about it.
Does it come with any coax on the back to bend down and attach to my goggles??
It comes with a 45 degree adapter to attach to your goggle so it is nice an low profile.
Will it come with 2 Crosshair just a question
Not sure what you mean by 2 crosshair. The assembly of the antenna is shown in the video with all of the parts.

Will this Yawllow me to use my drone to clear a office building by searching it room to room from outside.
No. Your control will not make it through those scenarios. You will get a nice view of the floor when you get control loss, though ;)
