- I want to give a BIG THANKS to all my subscribers! To celebrate, I restored 100 year old fan for my FANS!
Heres the "Diehl", the diehl fan is from the 1920s and originally had 3 fan settings (low, med, high) along with oscillation. Also the oscillation gear is too worn to work. It had previously been taken apart and was missing the speed coil. I could not source a speed coil for the video. Hope you guys enjoy!
Much Love,
Dr Restoration

I have a fan like this. It was my grandfather's shop fan. It has outlasted every Walmart and Target fan that I have bought. I just replaced the power cord and oiled it. Made at a time when things were built right and to last.
Yes they certainly don’t make them like they used to!
A nice old fan. Build to last.
Most people would have probably thrown it out.
Thank you for saving it.
Thank you Pauline, I still have some final touches to add to it later 😃
Very nice restoration! I think the result is wonderful!
Thank you!
Very nice work, ready for another 100 years...
They made such stylish design for a functional household item in those days. Solid and ready to go for another 100 years. Beautiful restoration!
Your paint booth is the same as mine! Lol. Beautiful restore!
😂
lol awesome restoration! I Love those antiques Fans. Hope in the future I make a restoration of one too. Great job! Keep It up Bro!
Thanks!
Lovely work! Those old fans are beautiful 👍 😊
19:09 sand sand sand. WOOF!! .......... 🤨.......... continue sanding lol. I love watching you work. And the subscribe hardware dump was awesomely clever 🤣👍 one thing tho. Use a good polish on those expertly sanded fan blades or they will oxidize quick
Thanks for the comment and advise! :)
Great Video!!
When someone says, The new stuff is built better
Wow 🤩
Sublime
I have one I need to restore - yours looks fantastic!
Thank you so much!
Im a big FAN!! lol
hey man! great job, great attention to detail. one thing though (although this is old, not sure you still do this) but you HAVE to stop gearing gloves around the grinders and the drills. anything can happen and without realising the toll is wrapping your hand around itself. don't ask how I know... so no gloves around anything that turns!!!!
These will teach kids to keep their fingers to themselves.
😂 so true
I have one like this. Rewired it and run it in my shop!
hermozo.... un locura... muy lindo trabajo!!! genial
I like this old fan good work
Thank you!
very nice restoration....
Wow
We’re you able to repair those worn oscillator gears?
excelente restauración
Thank you! 😀
Perfect 👍👍👍
Thank you 👍
Very good.
Many many thanks
❤❤❤
Hello 👋
Hi!
Круто. 👍👍👍
I know this is three years old but I have the exact fan and I am restoring it. Cannot find much information on it. How did you determine the year it was manufactured? Great video thanks.
Nice i loved😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thanks 🙂
👍👍👍👍
Great restoration. I think the cord is missing a plastic plug/grommet at the base.
Thank you! Yes it’s coming in the mail 😁
When you receive the grommet, and install it, place a knot in the wiring on the inside portion, this will help in keeping the connections from pulling loose by tugging on the cord. You do excellent work, and I love the “Paint Booth” !!!
The speed sensor It's hard finding parts for a fan that's a 100 years old, the main thing it works
In Việt Nam ❤ love🎉
What was the media you put in the rock spinner?
It was beach sand! You can use mostly anything to tumble, you can even rig up a mason jar attached to a drill!
I found a Diehl wall mount fan. I think it's from a train. Has DC motor. It's gotta be 120 years old. Who can help me find out more about it?
There’s an antique fan Facebook group called “antique fan collectors association”, they are a big help!
@@DrRestoration thanks for the info. You know how to guess the age of a fan. Everything I find is pointing at my fan being from pre 1905
So what happened to Part 2?
It's a good restoration overall yet I think you shouldn't had painted the moving parts between base and leg.
Do you sell these restored items?
No, they are only for my personal collection 🙂
你有兩個細節沒做、1)底板沒做 2)開關少了兩個接觸點缺失了,(或許你沒拍這兩個的過程?)
I’m sorry. I don’t accept that you couldn’t find a speed switch. 🙂 Look harder.
That’s why it’s says part 1 ;)
This is not a good job
Wow, real constructive criticism champ. Go away 🖕
Looks good to me.
