Give an award to someone who renounced her US citizenship in favor of Chinese citizenship then getting an American award? Why am I not surprised
She didn't renounce it on the U.S. side though, which is part of the problem for her. She gets to effectively have dual nationality when it's denied to most in China.

Is Japan an oppressive, communist regime? And Osaka didn't lie about it, Gu intentionally didn't wanna talk about her citizenship status while all the Chinese people were told she renounced her US citizenship which she clearly did not. That's the difference. I really like what she does in both China and the US.
