This is Bud Light's 'nightmare from hell': Kevin O'Leary | Fox News Rundown
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 лип 2024
- Last month, Bud Light partnered with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney to promote the beer’s brand on social media. The branding move sparked a major backlash from Bud Light drinkers, who largely went on to boycott the drink nationwide. Even with weeks past the initial controversy, Bud Light saw its fifth consecutive week of plummeting sales, bringing dismay to the Anheuser-Busch executives who are brainstorming how their brand can recover. O'Leary Ventures Chairman and investor on ABC’s Shark Tank, Kevin O'Leary, joins Dave Anthony on the Rundown to talk about how brand partnerships can make or break a company, what steps Bud Light must take to recover from this mishap, and why he thinks America's small banks are on the decline. #foxnews

For the woke, it’s not about reading the room. It’s about forcing the room to think a certain way.
people have had enough.
Well stated.
i have no idea what your saying. all i know is that we are in a morality and sickness crisis and people need to stop the insanity. this country has let too much be okay for too long. now we are in a serious crisis.poor moral judgement with this one and keep boycotting.
...and not caring about what could be tremendous fallout. Take CNN. They don't care if anybody at all watches anymore. They are pushing their agenda at all costs. Then, after watching and reporting on the Bud story, Fox-weiser all but did the same thing with their rash of firings.

Well said.
When you target the 1% and forget the 99% that actually buy your product, you go broke!
Go woke, go broke
Lol, you do realize that this will have minimal affect one of the LARGEST beverage suppliers world? Why are you on woke youtube and why do you folks buy any Big Three vehicles?
it's no longer bud-lite, we call it "queer beer". The name will stick to the 0.4 %.
Got to give it to the marketing exec, they conned their way to the top!
Go woke, go broke!
He’s absolutely right. I’m no CEO or marketing manager, but even I know that you don’t mix politics and business. You lose half your customers by taking political stances. It’s not a requirement to tell everyone who you vote for. There’s a reason why we vote behind a curtain: it’s no one’s business but your own. Keep your personal beliefs out of your product.
This is VICTORY for normal people in society and we need many more!!
thats right keep it going in all areas of this country. we are in a crisis. the sick have been taking over for too long its time to fight back.
Yes go norms! Then go trad wives!
Amen! America needs to truly pay attention!
There's no such thing. It's all relative.
Don't you mean fascist 😂😅
People are sick of less than 1% of the people's lifestyle rammed down our throats by the media and corporate owners. Keep your opinions to yourselves. That's the bottom line of why this is happening.
Thanks for your opinion
There's nothing he said that wasn't a fact lol
Nailed it! 👍
Yeah, but it is OK to ram your beliefs down their throat? It’s a two-way street bud, just because a group is bigger doesn’t necessarily mean that what they are doing is anymore, right. And honestly, you both are doing it to each other, this whole thing is just silly. If they, Bush, wanted to support, send Dylan a can with him on it, so what? They are free to do that, and if the audience is honestly going to wig out over someone being recognized that they don’t necessarily agree with, then, I think that speaks more towards the audience than the company.
How can Americans call ourselves freedom loving when we lash out when other people are represented? Why only present what is perceived as normal life, people should learn about other people and sub cultures in our own culture, but I guess we are all too closed minded to do that, sad, sad sad
Thank you, Kevin, great post. We gave them their rights but now they want us to celebrate their lifestyle or coerce others to. AIN'T happening. And the CEO's who push this crap need to be on the street, begging for scraps.
It isn't the narrative only...it was the OPEN CONTEMPT of their customers
Miller Lite you're next. Go woke, go broke.
This didn't burn out because we're reaching our end. It's not about being judgemental of people's way of life, it's about being able to consume 30 seconds worth of any media without having things shoved down our throat.
Budweiser did NOT own their mistake. They turned and blamed their customers for not buying the brand, causing pain to the truck drivers, and the line workers. Then they countered with the worst virtue signaling commercial ever made. Then they said they were quadrupling the ad budget over the summer to get their customers back. Nothing acknowledging the Trans mistake. Wanna know the secret to the minds of the drinkers? Men wanna kiss pretty girls. They will NEVER kiss some dude posing as a woman - Ever, ever, ever, ever. Budweiser literally poked their consumers in the EYES, then BLAMED them for not liking it.

I just hope people who decided to boycott budlight doesn't change their minds when the company lowers the price of beer during this hard economic times
It will probably stabilize. I mean giving $15 off so that beer is 29 cents a can is going to produce sales. BUT, they can't do this forever. Once it goes back to regular price, no one is buying it again.

A lesson in staying neutral as a company
Neutrality is wokeness in disguise. The ONLY way back is to remove the managers responsible for the disaster and agenda within and publicly and loudly notify the consumers of the change in direction from the top down that we fully and completely renounce the former management and their woke ideals, and that we fully and WITHOUT reservation support the nuclear family, men and women, and families. It's not a difficult thing to figure out. It's just difficult to implement, when the bankers are ordering you to comply with wokeness or die by removal of the ESG credit lines of the World economic forum.
They could note that they are not opposed to people of wokeness but they're not in charge of this show anymore and we won't allow them to influence our business decisions on any level. And that we're discontinuing support for wokeness, equity, diversity, and inclusion programs within.
Aw. keep crying snowflake
Us beer drinking men over 40 were told by the Harvard trained But Light VP that we aren't wanted as customers. OK. bye.
Finally something everyone can agree on.
Fact of the matter is most of us can careless what someone wants to be or “identify” as. It’s when we are FORCED to accept their decision is when there is an issue. It’s where people get in trouble because they don’t accept how someone wants to be treated.
But when someone that is not part of their abclgbtqxyz community wants to “identify” as something THEY don’t agree with, then they get bent out of shape and demand laws be made because it’s not right.
News flash, you can identify as transgender, but I can identify as someone that doesn’t have to accept it. If you were born a male, your a male. If your born a female, your a female. Don’t tell me I have to accept you as one gender or another because that’s what YOU want. I don’t want to, so you want what you want, and believe what you want, and I’ll want what I want and believe what I want. I am not going to try to change your mind or assault you, or scream in your face and hold parades to demand I accept it, don’t do it to me either.
The straight population doesn’t hold parades and demand acceptance, but if we did the transgender population would riot, but they want us to accept them peacefully and don’t like it when people talk out about them? Don’t force people to accept you, and you will never have an issue.
Be what you want to be, it’s a free country. But also accept the fact that if people don’t like it, they don’t like it. Don’t demand they have to accept it if they don’t want to. You can have a conversation with them if they want, if they don’t, move on about your day.
I love how he mentions nothing about ESG’s being one of the primary factors on why the business went woke
Simply because they haven't fired anyone yet is what gets me. No apology and nobody getting fired, this should go on forever.
It is because they don't want to upset and offend anybody in the LBGTQ community. I say let the LBGTQ support these companies. I am going elsewhere and knowing where they stand, will never come back. That includes Target, Disney, NBA, Hollywood and all the others.

It’s not a boycott. It’s a cancellation. A crappy beer is a crappy beer. They can’t change that fact.
It was never about the beer. It was about the blatant disrespect of the company towards its customers.
@mrbombastic2485 your sensitivity is hilarious. Freaking snowflakes
The customer who supported them for decades.
Bud Light *was* the best selling light beer in America and no matter what *you* think that’s is a fact.
With you on this one, S A. I only tried Bud Light once. Tasted like beer(ish) flavored water. Just barely carbonated. Total crap.
I think the bigger issue is the VP called her customer base "fratty and out of touch", in a negative context. Might as well have called them transphobic, rasist, idiots. I don't think it's ever a good idea to insult your customers.
Yah. Her, wealthy lawyer parents. $100k/year prep schools. Harvard.
Calling others "out of touch".
@@2paulcoyle Yep, and now that little rich snot is hopefully OUT OF WORK. I'll bet she's hiding in her mansion afraid to go out.
That morronic VP litterally alllienated BudLight fan base consumers, who WERE drinking the beer BECAUSE it was"fratty" !!!
Bad move...
That same VP said Bud Lite was a "dying brand", & needed to broader their base. That's like chopping down a 100yr Oak to plant an invasive specie.
Not just business advice...life advice!!!
Fulfillment in working hard and doing it right. 💪
You cant fix Bud Lite anymore. It is done, it will die. The moment Bud Lite join hands with Dylan, the reputation and the symbol that Bud Lite once stood for is forever gone. It is something that the eye cannot unsee. Impressions create a lasting image forever!
You have to know Budweiser's history.
Budweiser had a loyal following within the conservative circles. Their past marketing campaign was build on the patriotic symbolism which resonates with the right.
If the new female VP studied the history of Budweiser and thiught it out, she wouldnt have gone in the gender direction.
They could apologize. They won't. As a female Veteran, and a mom, I am concerned for the influence on the children, the under 18s. Now other brands are going the same route. No one learns.
They won’t give up on the agenda. They won’t give up until we surrender just like they keep attacking the 2nd amendment and chipping away at our rights generation by generation until we are meek lemmings. Sheep essentially.
I commend you on your service! Here's where I can't understand the wokesters! They claim it's okay for a man in a bikini frolicking in a bubble bath! If you don't like it you're a transphobic! If you see a woman frolicking on a beach in a bikini! Then you're a sexist misogynist! Good grief!
Drink local beer
I’m grateful for Dylan Mulvaney because it caused me to stop drinking . Dylan did what AA could never do.
You'd have thought the taste of Bud Light would have been aversion therapy.
Budweiser and Miller Lite V.P. and CEO need to resign as there's no other option for stockholder resolve!
- Budcott "boy-lite" and Miller-tite for the crown! (dilly, dilly) ...!!
😹
@@drmodestoesq I actually had bought a case of O'Doul's Amber and Budweiser Zero about a month or two prior to InBev's Mulvaney partnership.
I previously recommended to a friend who wants to get into drinking beer that he should purchase O'Doul's if he wanted the beer taste without the fear of getting intoxicated. I never will recommend Anheuser-Busch/InBev beverages ever again. Those creeps at ABI earned my relentless contempt.
See? He IS an influencer! He influenced you to stop using whatever product he is attached to
Americans are over boycotting. I believe most of us are at the point of complete cancellation of ALL companies that shove this crap in our face. Cancel Target, Cancel North Face, Cancel Adidas, Cancel Nike, Cancel Tampax, Cancel Torrid
I can't believe a guy with his experience is missing the main point. It's not "some trans ideology people drink beer, and some traditionalists drink beer." They were trying to expand their consumer base.
I think someone else is missing the main point, Brak. If a brand wants to go into new territory they feel will be positive, they need to analyze the potential downside of that decision. This is especially true if they are venturing into a polarizing issue that could split your consumer base in half. Instead of tinkering with one of their flagship brands, they probably should have focused this new campaign on pushing one of their seltzer products.
@@elmerslick8700 - Maybe I wasn't clear. Essentially he's saying they already had the market they were trying to capture, and that they did it for the controversy, to get people talking. That's not why they did it. What they were trying to do was reach out to a consumer base who didn't buy their product. In their own minds, there was nothing controversial about the Dylan Mulvaney partnership. Also, I really have to believe that most people boycotting Bud Light, don't have a problem with trans people. We live in a toxic and polarized time. In that context, the blunder is, you're not JUST partnering with a trans person; you're partnering with someone who wants to censor what you say and do on every social platform, who wants tp ban you from college campuses, who wants to put words in your mouth by law, and who wants to take away your parental rights. Kevin O'Leary wouldn't DARE say any of that, but that's the crux of the issue. Ultimately, if you're the CEO of a consumer product these days, your primary goal better be to cling to the middle of the road for dear life.
@@Brakathor Well said. I'm hoping to see your comments again as we watch this play out.
Now lets boycott Disney!! 😡😠
Have you seen how much lower Disney income and Disney profits are this year?
Disney is already being boycotted by good parents.
Boycott all these Woke companies. We have to break them.
Already am!
Already on it. My kids don't watch that garbage and honestly nobody is missing out on anything
No!……… let’s unfreeze Disney!😏
As a veteran I didn’t think I could be more disgusted.
Then you are an old bigot. If you want the same treatment as you hand out to trans then get ready to accept people spitting on you because you are an old bigot.
Yes, trying that bullsh*tin the military.
Disgusting.
fr woke culture is bs
And what, exactly, are you disgusted about, sir?
😂😆🤣
It's a shame, these transphobes need to give it up.
They are fighting a losing battle. They'll never push them back into the closet again. So knock yourselves out🏳️🌈🇺🇸❄️
Add Sports Illustrated to your LOOOONNNG list of boycotts 👍🏼😭
They just put Gorgeous transgendered singer Kim Petra’s on the cover!!😍😍😍😂
Funny trump wears orange makeup all the time yet they have a problem with Dylan🤔😂
And good luck on finding a beer as well. Miller light, Corona, Heineken, Yuengling, Coors light, and many others have a long history of supporting LGBT.👍🏼💪🏼🏳️🌈🇺🇸
Kevin O'Leary knows his stuff.
Kevin is ultra logical, every word coming out of his mouth is so well calculated, well thoughtout.. As against our woke nightmares and feminist. Much love Kevin. 🎉🎉 U r awesome.
A great lesson to all woke companies. More of this has to happen to these companies that are pushing woke agends.
We can't stop at bud light! Coke, Starbucks, Nike, Adidas!
Queer beer
What does woke mean?
Ya to hell with free speech. The GOP way.
Go Woke, Go Broke!!!😂
Good friend of mine is a bartender in a very popular college town at a top bar for the students. He said he can count on one hand how many bud lights he has sold the past month. Bud Light used to be in 80% of hands in bars on a weekend night. Now you can’t catch anyone sipping one. Absolutely insane turn of events.
Everyone should boycott every woke company.
I thought college town is mostly liberals, and there would be a Bud Light increase. What area is it?
@@waltchan South east. Far from a liberal college.
@@waltchan liberals are boycotting too because they backed down thier stance instead of doubling down.
I like the sensible and thoughtful approach of Kevin O'Leary. A company is there to do their business and make profit, not statements.
It is not the Dylan Mulvaney post that caused this. It is the Alissa Heinerschild interview where she calls the company’s former advertisements (and by extension the customers that liked the ads, “fratty and out of touch”. This is consistently omitted to make people who have changed brands seem to be bigoted bullies. That’s not the case at all. We were told by the marketing VP that we were no longer wanted. Ok, bye. Also, you can tell Mr O’Leary doesn’t drink much beer - associating Bud Light with pure mountain water.
What a wise man is Mr. O'Leary. Basically he's saying, "Sell your product, and only sell your product. That is your job. Stay out of politics and "issues."" Famously, Michael Jordan said, "Republicans buy sneakers, too."
This thing is getting serious traction. You can't fool all the people all the time.
Keep the boycott going strong
What was that? Sorry I was just busy sipping my bud light, soy boy snowflake
I would quit drinking rather than purchase ab products. That's a 52 year drinker. Thanks Budweiser!
Yep
Guess what? Regular folks are getting pissed off and don;t want to accept the BS narratives that ESG companies are shoving down our throats.
honestly... its beyond a temporary boycott. anyone who stopped drinking it will definitely not go back. It reminded me how popular the beer actually was; which is amazing because it is absolutely flavorless watery beer.
It's high time Americans hold companies accountable for their actions, stay strong America and boycott all Anheuser-Busch products!
It was a boycott for a few weeks. Now, there is a stigma attached to the brand. No one wants to be seen buying or drinking it.
This will go down in the history books as one of the dumbest marketing moves of all time
Worse than New Coke in the 1980's.
Lol no it won’t. You people are so silly.
@@KelleyT29 so you think it was a good move??
No it won't. It'll go down as the bravest marketing campaigns ever. Only ignorant people are against trans rights.
@@JohnDoe-ew3xt it was the greatest marketing move I've ever seen.
I think the big take away from Bud's experience is that the general population is fed up with the gender ideology stuff. It's bad enough in the schools without the adults having it crammed down their throats (now literally in the form of beer).
Yep, and this guy totally doesn’t understand that.
Aw. keep crying snowflake
I Absolutely agree Stop Pushing this on everyone. PLEASE. Enough is Enough.
So many people are saying that it's a "gender" thing. It's not, AB stated that they wanted to get away from their "fratty image" and then they embraced Dylan M. They alienated their consumer base, plain & simple. It's the wokeness, the identity politics, the virtue signaling, etc most of us are sick & tired of. Companies need to STOP trying to make all of these little faction groups feel special. When you try and please & kowtow to everyone, someone is always going to feel less special, not represented, etc.
He said it perfectly “Why would you go down this road”… you own it now
So proud of Americans standing together
You need to get rid of the Biden administration
And then what? Hahahaha, your a sucker....I bet you believe in god as well.
Standing together to do what exactly? Hey, remember when people boycotted products because they advertised with black people? Same thing - nothing to be proud of.
that’s not a bad idea. I prefer not to buy any product that does that either.

Just like their “influencer “
Summed up short and beautifully.
Died a drag Queen 👑
That’s a good one .
GOPs new slogan.. we hate people!
I was glad to hear him talk about what his daughter said. People, rich and all the way to the bottom need to understand that when you take a job on a board of trustees for a company all the way down to say, trustee for a church. If you accept a job either payed or voluntary, you should take it seriously. How you live where you go things you do will now be an open book.
4:50 Coors Light is the pure Colorado water story. Having the people the back your product be people that actually use your product is truly very important. Unexpected problems can come up otherwise.
The Bud light boycott is really important for the future we want for our kids. It must be kept up until the brand is dead so that big business don’t forget that they are not in charge.
Amen.
And Disney as well.
Totally 💯 agree
We the people have the power to topple Anheuser Busch and teach corporate America a lesson once and for all. We can boycott all companies that are going down this path of being WOKE and destroying women.
Blah blah blah we the people 🤣🤣🤣 you are a 🤡
It needs to be done Robert.
Molson Coors are another one
What a distraction. You think this is a win?
The people are cowardly, obese, medicated fools who will never truly fight.
I'm an investor and they are holding their own.
That's why I have so much respect for Michael Jordan. He knew way back in the 90's when he wouldn't take a controversial stance when pressed by reporters stating "Republicans buy sneakers too".
Its a permanent boycott for many of us. Nothing will change that.
Yea sure. You buy what you are told to buy and you will go right back to the trailer water for the one simple reason, it's cheap and so are you.

They should have taken a big whiff of the situation before they stepped in it. Alissa Heinerscheid brazenly insulted Bud Light's customer base and transgender men are destroying the hopes women athletes. Their job was to sell beer and not alternative lifestyles.
1. The CAUSE of this: Politics over profit.
2. The CONSEQUENCES for this: FIRE those responsible.
3. The SOLUTION to this: The CEO, on video, totally DISAVOWING ALL WOKE CULTURE.
4. ENDORSING traditional American values.
5. DONATING millions of dollars to Conservative & charitable institutions.
6. A TOTAL Mea Culpa.
7. NOTHING less will restore brand integrity.
Call me old fashioned, but hiring a woman in an industry that caters to men is the first mistake! I expected this type of outcome we have seen I knew it would happen since she's a woman she just couldn't help sneaking in some "corrective action" by accusing men of the "existing" sexism and then showing men her ideology of how women "contribute" to making beer, that how wrong men were! As for transgender men destroying women athletes, well good for them! People need to understand that those women didn't care that transgender men were still stronger... they cared more about being beaten by men! You can read how they explained why transgenders should not compete with women and it was some "advantage" over women! They would never say the transgender had won due to him working harder! In the past many women had challenged men across all sports... and when they won they made sure the world would acknowledge women as even physically equal to men or that women "must have" worked harder than men! But all those challenges between women and men sports we knew they were not based on fairness anyway!! In other words, when women won against men, it was women who had worked harder than any men! When a transgender won against a woman, oh he had some type of advantage...but nothing about him working hard to win!
She had this I'm better than you attitude in that interview and that alone made me cancel bud light
