- The Camino stage from Castrojeriz to Frómista spans about 25 kilometers and begins with a challenging ascent up Alto de Mostelares, offering panoramic views of the surrounding Meseta. After the climb, the path descends into a peaceful valley and crosses the Pisuerga River via the 11th-century Itero Bridge, marking the border between the provinces of Burgos and Palencia. The route continues through agricultural fields and small villages, including Itero de la Vega and Boadilla del Camino. Just before Frómista, the path follows an old canal, the Canal de Castilla, which leads into town. Frómista is known for its well-preserved Romanesque architecture, especially the Church of San Martín de Tours.
