- The Camino route from Frómista to Carrión de los Condes is about 20 kilometers and is generally flat, following quiet country roads and pathways through the Meseta’s vast farmland. From Frómista, pilgrims often choose between a scenic path following the historic Canal de Castilla or a parallel road that’s closer to villages. Key stops along the way include the villages of Población de Campos, Revenga de Campos, and Villalcázar de Sirga, home to the impressive 13th-century Church of Santa María la Blanca. The stage ends in Carrión de los Condes, a lively town with rich medieval history and notable landmarks like the Monastery of San Zoilo and the Church of Santiago, known for its intricate Romanesque carvings.
The walk to Carrion de los Condes was mostly alongside the road and also battled the forces of nature with rain and strong winds at 50 kmph.
