  • This was an attempt to make a sun or star wall piece. But when I took a few photos…..well it does look a little dark.
The idea was to have the epoxy illuminated from behind to make a star effect. It does until it get real dark then it turns for the worst.
I should have figured this as there was one misstep after another all along the way making thing. From cutting the incorrect angels on the nicely laminated piece matching wood for the the border, the cracking epoxy due to heat and a host of other little niggles.
That being said I think the finished project is really cool and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I love watching woodworkers who know how to enjoy themselves. Cool project, Brett.

Thanks heaps Louis. It’s a lot of fun getting out and creating things, even when we suffer from “learning opportunities” 😀 Brett

Thanks Denise. The lights are a permanent feature. Just need to find a wall to put it on ;-)

    Hi Brett
Nice to know it was worth getting shares in the glue market!
Great project Brett, and the Nova is handling everything you ask it to. It’s always amazed me how all those little angles work, should have paid more attention to maths at school back in the 50s. Thanks for sharing look forward to the next “glue up”
    Regards

Fingers crossed the next glue up will come complete with good math.
I always look forward to your comments Mal and yes the Nova keeps on turning. Although with a flywheel like this attached it takes a while to slow down. 😀

Now that is impressive even thought I am not a fan or the wood and tupperware mix, but of a purist I guess

Certainly getting on towards the max diameter of your lathe Mr Stark , was that a case of measure once cut twice, maybe?
I am really enjoying your creativity and looking forward to what treat you have in store for us next.

Darryl still 100 mm to maximum 😀
But rim of drama. Big sigh.
In the end I had three shots at it.
The first I got carried away with glueing everything thing back up.
The second was me cutting 10 degrees not 15 so gaps galore
The third time I got it right
      Thanks for watching
      B
