Put of the HUNDREDS of lathe operators I've watched over the years, you are THE FIRST one to use that special cut out tool that didn't waste all the material everyone else loses when gouging out the inside of the bowl. Why hasn't anyone else figured that out like you have? This sets you apart from all others. Well Done!
Drift wood pieces I have personally collected and received from a talented friend, now a World Bank Consultant. But your skill and talent is pure inspiration. I wish my Dad could have seen this. He made some incredible pieces out of rosewood and sandalwood with just a chisel, kitchen knife, bare hands and imagination ❤
Mama Mia! That is absolutely gorgeous! You are so talented and creative, it just blows my mind that you took all those roots and turned it into a stunning bowl. Amazing work! Bravo!
David, this has to be one of the most beautiful bowls I have seen. And I like how you saved the middle for a future turning instead of turning it into waste. Cheers, from Canada.
When I saw the thumbnail, I figured you would have to make something small. I was surprised. I hadn't seen that done before. Great idea and very nice, finished piece.
That's quite.the setup he has there. Pan jaws, buffing wheels, the stabilizing wheels ( not sure what that's called ) and that bowl shaped trepaning tool sure saves time and materials. You could make a matching set of bowls with that. Definatly worth the investment if you make money doing it. 👍👍
Today (July 19th, 2024) was the first time I watched your channel and for that I apologize that it wasn't sooner. This bowl is beautiful and Ihope to find the video whereyou make a bowl out of the center core of the first. Beautiful work.
what an awesome idea of carving out the centre...you could do that again and end up with three bowls... absolutely stunning work as per usual... I like that your work "speaks for itself" without any commentary... thank you so much for sharing your creativity with the rest of us... it is so inspiring...
Thank you so much 😀 It is a pressure pot and helps with air bubbles. Due to positive pressure it squashes the bubbles to a size human eye cannot even see. Then the resin cures like that
The time that you take to make these art pieces are worth it! It is an incredible gift to have and to share your work talent with others in life is amazing. This bowl is beautiful!😊
Nicely done, coring a great idea. Seems like it cut pretty well with that Oneway system. Often wondered if their cutters cutting vertically with that wedge shaped cutter is superior to my Woodcut cutter that cuts horizontally? What do you polish with? Looks great only sanding to 1000! Stay safe.
Thanks for sharing that and all the steps! I love seeing the process though I know nothing about woodturning, it certainly is a wonderful skill to have!
Love the shape love the colour, I was watching thinking does David have a coring system as it would be so sad to lose all that middle thankfully you have one. Please show us what you make with the core.😘😘.what is the colour called because it's so stunning.
You have produced a lovely piece of work, David. And so much of your video was interesting, not least your use of a coring system- I would have one by now if utility bills hadn’t tripled 🌞
Hi David I was mezmerised watching you put this together and turning it. The bowl is magnificent and unique, I bet the small one will look just same or will you make a pot out of it. Thanks for a great video showing your skills and intelligences, Amanda xx

It's called evolution...since the discovery of wheel...
Thank you so much 😀 To be fair there are many turners used them maybe you just have not come across with them yet
I have poured resin before, but what is the pressure pot for?
@@mnotten1 vacuum to remove all air bubbles trapped in resin . flame heat, vibration and vacuum pressure are all ways to eliminate bubbles
@@Dan_d00d thanks, I haven't done deep pours like yours, generally use a torch for my little pours.

That burgundy and wood would have looked amazing with some gold? Wonder if you could use some gold leaf? You have a God given talent

Called Roar polishing. Primary for automotive use but works great to my needs. Their course polish removes marks from 800g or finer
