I love how they used the "hurry back!" and "dead center of the room" parts. Very iconic parts of the ride.
I think the “dead center of the room” was their doing. All that the ride says is “Kindly step all the way in please, and make room for everyone. There’s no turning back now”

@@caljones Oh, that’s probably why I don’t recognize it. I’m really only familiar with the soundtrack, not the cast script.
@@EricDG326 they might only say it in California. Here, the stretching room is an actual elevator because the ride is outside the boundaries of the park, and we have to get underneath the train tracks. Elsewhere, the stretching room is there just because it’s in California

I paid $100 for a Disney ticket and rode only the Haunted Mansion ride all day so that I could sing this song over and over again. My family has since disowned me.

I love the part Geoff sings from 1:11 to 1:16. It makes me realize that I'm definitely not a bass when it comes to singing.
He's unusually low bass. I am not even remotely close, but still placed on the bass group.
I wish I could sing that low. Dad-Blast my luck! Wouldn't you just know it?

Oh, well...at least I can sing that low. I used to be a Tenor, but thankfully, I didn't stay in that Vocal Range.

I love the subtle changes in head movement to make it seem much less 'human-like' and more rickety and 'statue-like'. That for me was what sealed this as one of my favourite music videos

The singing busts have always been my favorite part of the Haunted Mansion. One time our "doom buggies" broke down right in front of them, so I had a nice long concert. This version is fantastic, from the singing, the arrangement, the acting and make-up, to the video editing.
Who else is in love with Geoff's bass voice? 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

I grew up about 3 miles from Disneyland, so this song was familiar to me from a very early age. This was the first a cappella song I remember hearing, and I used to go on the Haunted Mansion ride extra times just to hear it. Thank you so very much for happy memories from half a century ago. Excellent arrangement and performance!!
P.S. Geoff's homage to the legendary Thurl Ravenscroft is fantastic.
I grew up near D-Land too! Euclid and Orangethorpe. Saw the fireworks from my Bedroom window. 9:30pm like clockwork.
Both my brother and sister worked at Disneyland, and both met their future spouses there. I was the rebel who worked at Knott's. I said if I worked at Disney, the ONLY thing I'd want to do is the Haunted Mansion. My brother told me it doesn't work that way, you might be rotated to other rides. Forget that! Knott's was fun, more laid back, plus I could get Mrs. Knott's Chicken on Fridays. Yum!

I grew up in So. Cal. in the 1960's and the BEST, ABSOLUTE BEST ride at Disneyland was AND STILL IS the Haunted Mansion... It's been copied MANY times but, NEVER BESTED. Then, and now, it STILL IS the KING of Spooky Houses. This was one of the last attractions that Walt had any DIRECT control over and it shows. There have been MANY attractions over the years from Disney, but like so MANY, they have fallen by the wayside... BUT STILL TO THIS DAY, the Haunted Mansion from ALL the different theme parks around the world it has had MORE visitors arguably to this one attraction than any other. And the Singing Busts are one of the MANY reasons just why this place is so popular.
