Loved this episode Alexei, I've listened to you since Ruby introduced you through Back Pocket. 12 Monkeys is one of my favourite films, and choosing both Colossal and Los Chronos Crimenes as recommendations was perfect! Keeping on track with this ep, my other most memorable mind-bending films are Fallen starring Denzel Washington (interestingly the first time I heard of the ancient measurement 'cubit', which John Leary could've helped you with on the Saturday Quiz - you are popping up everywhere mate!), and the 2005 film The Jacket starring Adrien Brody. As for a new-ish release I would go for Suzume.
I'd completely forgotten about both 12 Monkeys and Colossal, gonna have to give them both a rewatch! If I had to pick a recent release it'd be Longlegs, loved Oz Perkins' direction even if the story didn't quite live up to the hype, and my weeklys would be Lost in Translation (never fails to make me tear up) and Tron Legacy, the ultimate music-video movie!
Jumanji is such a good early horror suggestion. I saw it in theaters with my older sister and that movie wrecked me but definitely started my love for horror.

A brilliant way of showing the three acts by each of the characters perspective. My two weeklys are...the true history of the kelly gang, hunger (michael fassbender)
Absolutely love these picks! Last Duel is so underrated one of Ridley’s very best. I’m gonna recommend you his very first (and in a very similar genre too), the Duellists!

As my weekly picks I gotta say for one Swan Song for loving a bit of existential dread packed into a neat near future environment disguising an apple commercial with the outstanding Mahershala Ali. My comfort watch would be Oceans Eleven, for an ultimate turn of the millennium vibe that must have felt iconic even back then and of course everyone's favourite sceemin’ boys ;) Would appreciate a pick from you a lot :))

Truly think it’s the best starting point for a kid wanting to see something with a bit of scary tension but want scar them
Spirited Away i reckon is good for kids. I remember being 8 and it came on SBS in the evening. I was freaked out, but so intruiged.
