I hate so much that y’all are going through this, I’m so glad the dogs were ok and I’m heartbroken that the cats didn’t make it. I hope the Bakers’ dogs are being well cared for, and I’m so thankful they were there to prevent the damage being any worse. All the luff to you and Fi.
I'm sorry that your cats passed away mine did to, and that must of been a really exspensive house my me looking at it when it was clean but i hope y'all are doing fine now
I know and thank you so much for the kind words. Coming home to having lost 4 cats was beyond traumatizing. And interestingly enough today is the 4 year anniversary of the fire. I don't think they did so we take some comfort in that.
It’s heartbreaking to hear about your cat, I can’t imagine going through that. Our house had similar damage to this, we were in a hotel for like a month. Some people said it should’ve taken them way longer to rebuild the house than that. But I don’t know. There was a smell that never went away. We moved about a year and a half latter.
It’s amazing how much smoke gets everywhere from just one room fire and ruins everything, even though the fire doesn’t get to other rooms. Same goes with how much heat damages things from other ends of the house or building. It’s pretty scary though
No it was electrical. A nail was shot through a piece of working that pulled a current for several years before it finally ignited. We've fully rebuilt and and are back in and doing well. See this video :. ua-cam.com/video/kmW6icgVegI/v-deo.html
How did everything turn out? Just had a similar fire in my home but it actually took out and entire wall downstairs. Every room is covered in smoke from ceiling to the floors. Just wondered how yours turned out after everything and what kinda time it took
Hey Zack sorry to hear about yours. All in all it turned out okay, they gutted the house down to the frame for a total rebuild. Had to pull out the HVAC systems completely. We were out of the house 4 days shy of a year. Here's a walk through after the full completion : ua-cam.com/video/kmW6icgVegI/v-deo.html
I'm really sorry to see the damage it took, I also imagine it's one of the most painful ways to lose your cats. I'm glad the dogs are safe, but sad the cats didn't make it. Also sounds quite odd it took longer than a year for the nailed wire to arc into flames.
When I say gutted I mean they tore out the sheetrock and insulation, but left the studs standing. So basically a framed house on the foundation for most of it. They did leave the sheetrock in the master bedroom and the upstairs loft and it was cleaned and used a Kilz paint to take care of the smell.
One of the nails in a cross bracing hit into the romex and was arcing over a period of time. It finally held good enough connection to ignite the lumber.
@@katiem4539 I'm so sorry I just now saw this. The insurance company sends out a cause inspector - he's a retired arson inspector to assess the nature of the fire in case it was negligence or something. No we were out of town and friends were taking care of our place, but they were down in our shop doing some work. We estimate the fire probably had about 30 minutes of a slow burn to build up that much heat and soot.

It really is. I had no idea how much it distributes ! And the heat - wow !
I’m so sorry to hear about your cats but I’m glad your family and dogs are alive.
Thank you so much. It was quite an ordeal

Your fire started in your microwave? Sorry about your home! Any good news updates? Hope you and your family are doing well.

Thank you for kindness. It was definitely a tough ordeal.
Im so sorry for your loss
Thank you so much ❤
Were there any possible suspects connected to this Fire?
A nail had been shot through the wire 10 years prior in the construction. It sat there arcing for a decade then lit off.
So wait u can gut all the walls out right? Or tear the whole house down

So sorry u lost ur cats
What was the cause?
One of the nails in a cross bracing hit into the romex and was arcing over a period of time. It finally held good enough connection to ignite the lumber.
How did the microwave catch fire?
The microwave did not catch fire, but it definitely suffered heat damage and some melting. The fire started in the wall from an electrical component.
Wow. That whole situation sucks
Thank you. Yeah, it was an absolutely horrendous ordeal including the rebuilding afterwards.
Did the microwave start it.
No it was a nail in the Romex wiring from the original construction.
Temple Thomas wow. How do you find things like that in a home? That’s worrysome. Were you guys home when it started?

my house caught on fire to
This is why you don’t buy Samsung or LG appliances.
?? The appliances had nothing to do with the fire
Will u allow Mormon missionaries to come see u?
And what exactly can Mormon missionaries do for this family. Would you offer help without attempting to convert these people.
