I don't want to make any assumptions, but your back gate and door could have been unlocked due to fire fighters or other emergency services checking to ensure fire hadn't extended into the house or that there was nobody inside needing help.
Just wanted to say thank you for giving your cat a safe place to play outside. Too many cat owners think it's ok to just let them out to roam. Good hooman.
boofighter it's Canada there are pricks here that would have done that but it's in the downtown ish - not saying there all bad just alot of scumbags there -
Boosted Lifestyle I hope so. It would be so pointless and sad to see your own ok-condition house bulldozed down because the government wants that. It seemed to me that a day of vacuum cleaning and some odor cleaner would solve 99%.
Go read Agenda 21 on the UN website. There are certain areas they want cleared out in the name of saving the environment. Could be a coincidence that some of these areas are getting burned down, maybe not. But, it's a lot easier than trying to ask people to move or sell to them. Too many don't go easily. THIS IS EASY.
Ah man, it's truly so devastating to see thru your videos this. I feel so sad and sorry for those who lost their homes, I'm glad your house and those others around made it thru though. Truly puts things into perspective.. Thoughts with you guys moving forward hope things are all okay for you both !
In the northeast, big cities, you're probably right. Small town people look out for their neighbors. Looters should be shot on sight, no exceptions. They are the lowest form of scum.
i don't like how the houses are built so close together my neighbor is more then 500 feet away there are no houses in back of us because its all forest and my back yard 450 feet from the house to the property line the other neighbor is 320 feet away and i like it that way
My family was evacuated for 10 days in 2003 during the Okanagan Mountain Park Fire. Our neighbours house burnt down. The one beside had extensive damage. Everything around us was burnt to the ground. A few hundred houses burnt to the ground. I was four almost five years old and remember everything vividly. The smell and feel of everything when we returned home. The extensive cleaning process we had to go through to make our house livable again was insane. I feel for ya man. Happy you were lucky enough to keep your house. All the best and Love from Kelowna BC.
Damn, I feel you. Crazy to think your parents/insurance broker decided to heavily clean your home instead of just rebuilding because of smoke damage, mold, etc
I was in a apartment fire in 2018 and I now have PTSD and MDD. My neighbor didn't make it. I hope that everyone is alright. God bless you and your family.
I hope you guys can rebuild. I was happy to see your house was still standing. I've never really talked to anyone whose been put in your situation but this video is really sad.
Boosted Lifestyle, was the terrible smell in your home just from the rotting things in the refrigerator? If not do you know what caused it? I hope you are allowed back to stay in your beautiful home. Looks like you had a catio out back for your cats; I hope the cats love it. Hoping very much that you can get back in to stay and you can get the stench out quickly. Thanks for sharing your continuing struggles. I had hoped everyone who could back home was back home.
+sharppointy1 I would imagine it's the food and the smoke. I live 1200+ miles away and I smelled the smoke. if you watch his last video he goes back to his house and people are cleaning it.
+sharppointy1 thanks man, I think it was a combo of what was in the garbage and the fridge with a little bit of smoke. We are hoping to be back soon, getting home sick
So sad to see the neighborhoods. This happened to my family in BC when I was a teenager - our neighbors lost homes and ours was OK. In the end it worked out but I feel for you and the community. Hang in there bro.
Good to see your house survived intact...Like you said, that doesn't guarantee that your house will be allowed to remain...There's a lot of fire damage up there, and even if you can return, changes to the ecosystem possibly may affect a lot of other conditions (and rules) in the area for years to come...
Wow, that's incredible how much stuff was on fire around your house. I'm glad to see most of your belongings were recoverable. Hopefully the whole situation turns out well for you guys in the end!
+Arif Khan (KHANAGE) in the area there was a wild fire, mowed through 2600 homes. Some less Than 1 block away from mine. So the toxins from those plastics and treated wood are all airborn so we can't return home
Boosted Lifestyle wow very complex, I wouldn't have thought abut airborne toxins. So sad everyone life hood in wait. I wouldn't be able to handle it well like these guys. Hope they are ok now: Hi from-UK, ESSEX.
i work for a company that was working in ft mac when shit when crazy , glad you folks made it out in 1 piece and the aerial pic is just nuts , you house was literally in the middle of part of the inferno .. damn lucky ..
I do not know what originally happened in your community there but it is terrible and I pray and Hope that you your friends your family and your neighbors all around you are all safe that's most important everything else can be replaced outside of heirlooms etc but your life is most important and I know you're path will be hard right now but you will survive. I pray and ask God to give you all strength to get through this horrible ordeal but again I am so thankful that you are all alive and okay!!!
Will you please post a video and let us know how you made out? If you have good fire insurance the house will be cleaned and you will never know you were in a fire less the view of the burned areas around you. Hope all works out well.
the smell would be the fridge mixed with the stagnant water in the sump pump area mixed with smoke i bet I deal with the stagnant water smell every spring as my basement drys out from the atlantic canadian spring thaw

So most of time when it's stink like that it's because after 37 days without humans activity in the house all P-trap of the drains are getting dry and shit from drain pipe are all exposed to vent in da house. refill with a bit of water, let exterior fresh air vent the house for a while and put perfumed baking soda on carpet.
+Boosted Lifestyle that would be pretty interesting to see. I don't think anyone has ever tried a tire that small. 26s are usually the smallest people use
Such a frequent commonality with Canadian fire videos I see on UA-cam is how closely built the houses are. I also notice a lot of vinyl siding on them that burns with great intensity once it gets going. All that coupled with modern lightweight construction is a recipe for conflagrations such as your community has suffered.
Seems a standard in Canada to build 3 to 4 meters apart... even in areas where brick and stone houses predominate (Ontario) homes are built such that there's no need to leave your bedroom to share a handshake with your neighbor.
They did! The news media tried to make it sound like most of the town had burnt to the ground. But when I looked at a map of the town's fire damage, I was surprised by how few homes were actually destroyed.
We’re y’all able too move back into the house? Other than the smell you talked about and the bugs on the floor the house itself looks in perfect condition. Hope y’all were able to move back into your house
I can relate - when I was a kid they evacuated Mississauga because of a chlorine tanker train derailment. We weren't allowed in to our homes either for weeks. Thankfully it wasn't broken into or looted. So - did you guys move back in and clean it, or did they demolish it and a new one built?
Wow this is nuts! Can't believe your home and vehicles survived the fire. Other than some bugs and smells you guys should be back to normal hopefully soon. Man what a devastating mess

Brian Johnson the fire was quite close while we were driving out of town. Fire on the sides of the road, buildings and grass on fire. It was kinda scary
That cabin air filter is just old. The ash wouldn’t have gotten to your filter because in order for air to pass through the filter the HVAC system must be sucking air through it
Aside from the utillities still cut off & minor smoke damage, if any(from one window open)(and was window open before or during (or after, not likely) fire?) (Impossible to find out) Why don't they let you back to live there again???????????? Liked how they fenced off everything! (Like there's anything to grab!)
It was actually MAJOR smoke damage as you can tell by their melted siding. The wildfire was so huge and hot it could melt siding from 1/4 of a kilometer away. If you check out their channel today you will see that they have rebuilt and are now living a normal life.
Glad to see your house is OK; hope you are back in it now. Vinyl siding, polystyrene sheathing and vented unfinished attics should be banned everywhere; it amazes me that anyone is willing to insure houses built that way. An individual house with those features is not so dangerous, but once you get a whole city of them, it's a disaster waiting to happen.
Back in September of 2017, I live in Washington an there were wildfires everywhere, I was lucky there was not wildfire near my house but it was very smoky that the sun and the moon turned red and I couldn’t go outside.
Here where i live we do see some blockbuster droughts and wildfires one in a blue moon, but very infrequent though think goodness, the last wildfire we seen in my region that caused so much lost of homes and life was the Gatlinburg fire back in 2016, the natural disaster that has been more of a threat to the public here is tornado.
boosted wow dude I had no idea that that happened to you wow dude, the cali fiers suck man , it looks like your house was spared, much props to you bro, I guess the mustang is the fire stang.
when something bad happens to your friend, you don't fell very well, actually you fell very sad. So now I'm feeling bad, because even if I didn't ever meet you and I wouldn't meet you in my entire life, I consider you as my friend. I tried my best to write this comment but I'm not English or American lol
Isn't that the big one that happened recently? I know a few weeks ago the Twin Cities in Minnesota, USA, where I live, had a air quality warning from all the smoke coming down out of Canada.
+Boosted Lifestyle wow. Yea ok. It got to the point where it was down to 1/8th mile visibility during the night one of the days. It smelled like a camp fire everywhere.
This is actually worse than having your home burned down entirely. His home was severely damaged from smoke and water, if your home was burnt insurance would have easily covered that and rebuild for you. Would be harder if it wasn't.
+P Star it was, but we have water sumps in our basement that rise with the water level. And since nobody had electricity nobody could pump their sumps out
Canada's largest wildfire. Mainly the smoke and the homes still burning kept everyone out that long. The smoke spread so far it even went into parts of the USA. The fire was so large it spread into parts of sakatchewan.
What did it smell like? I was helping a friend move out of his apartment recently and the air conditioner unit was really moldy inside, so the whole room smelled like an aquarium/fish tank. It was disgusting and turned my stomach. The landlord didn't do anything about that either. I don't know why he didn't get air fresheners for the room because I would've if the landlord wouldn't clean out the AC unit. And why so many dead bugs? Because of the smell/rotting food?
am i the only one that noticed the 3 cans of racegas in the corner??? first thing to take imo especially in a fire, thats like a bomb waiting to go off 0.0
I don't want to make any assumptions, but your back gate and door could have been unlocked due to fire fighters or other emergency services checking to ensure fire hadn't extended into the house or that there was nobody inside needing help.

Same thing I was thinking
Just wanted to say thank you for giving your cat a safe place to play outside. Too many cat owners think it's ok to just let them out to roam. Good hooman.
I am amazed at the lack of looting that went on.
boofighter that's Canada for you

not many black people in FM
It was guarded if you saw by the checkpoints
You were extremely blessed to still have your home. God was truly with you guys
What would be the reason for bull dozing the homes that are remaining, Doesn't make much sense.
+tigergreg8 the contamination apparently they didn't actually bulldoze any
tigergreg8 they never did they’ve been rebuilding the houses from what I last heard
Boosted Lifestyle I hope so. It would be so pointless and sad to see your own ok-condition house bulldozed down because the government wants that. It seemed to me that a day of vacuum cleaning and some odor cleaner would solve 99%.

Smoke damage is the main cause. You can never fix smoke damage of that magnitude. Easier and cheaper to tear down and rebuild.
Ah man, it's truly so devastating to see thru your videos this. I feel so sad and sorry for those who lost their homes, I'm glad your house and those others around made it thru though. Truly puts things into perspective.. Thoughts with you guys moving forward hope things are all okay for you both !
+NinjaxBart thanks man, much love! Just hoping they decide to let us keep our home, my girlfriend and I worked so hard to get it
your lucky your house didnt get looted soo lucky
Here in America people looting would probably have done more damage than the fire :(
In the northeast, big cities, you're probably right. Small town people look out for their neighbors. Looters should be shot on sight, no exceptions. They are the lowest form of scum.
That is only if you are in the cities. In a smaller town/city people look out for another.
Bob LaRue yeah in the small towns, we don't have a big issue with looters
i don't like how the houses are built so close together my neighbor is more then 500 feet away there are no houses in back of us because its all forest and my back yard 450 feet from the house to the property line the other neighbor is 320 feet away and i like it that way

Rebuild what? They literally only need to do some cleaning and replace their fridge and food.
"Rebuld"....
Wow, that is incredibly lucky! Happy everyone & your stuff is ok. Hope you won't have to move.
+Intransversable thanks :) I hope we don't have to either

Streko Rodriguez dead bugs, lots of dead bugs

+Streetsandpeaks I hope it doesn't get condemn or anything. I already lost one house to a flood in 2005 -.-
Dang, that's incredibly bad luck.
+MultiKillsHD very bad
I don't understand why in so much of Canada with so much land houses are built so close together... just begging to be burn en masse.
Did yall ever get back in your home
Imagine the people that want to go home and see they lost everything. You guys are so lucky
I feel so sorry for all those people who lost so much in that fire!
Your house isnt damaged that bad

Seem to be doing a good job of that for the most part. Are you guys able to get back to work yet?
+Ben C I won't be back until the 27th, days are getting long and boring, trying to find something to film now
What happened to the neighborhood?
+Michael Lutz huge forest fire hit the town hard
you're very lucky! your house is ok after this VERY BIG fire
Our hearts & thoughts are with you my friend from New York state:)

is that real? no-one ever mentions that kind of thing in Europe?
Wild fires? wild fires are actually really common in the US. There was a big wild fire not that far from where I used to live in Colorado.
i work for a company that was working in ft mac when shit when crazy , glad you folks made it out in 1 piece and the aerial pic is just nuts , you house was literally in the middle of part of the inferno .. damn lucky ..
Let you rebuild? Your house is untouched. It would be stupid if they wouldn't let you go back
It would be a better idea to rebuild. It was impacted with heavy smoke damage, mold, and water damage. Insurance has got you covered 😉
I'm glad to hear your home was spared.. good luck and best wishes!
+Lightpaws Hird thanks :)

the smell would be the fridge mixed with the stagnant water in the sump pump area mixed with smoke i bet

You don't know whether you'll be allowed back TO YOUR OWN PROPERTY.
What do you think might be wrong with the above statement?
Mike Brown well it is unsafe probably
sure let the people of chernobyl back to their property
Umm. Well, they have. And some people continue to live there, which is what they want to do.
If someone dies or your shit gets stolen who do you think your going to complain to? Hint its the people who let you in....
@Nato Potato- well, you can complain to them all you want, but you won't get any sort of compensation for your losses, since the "authorities" enjoy Sovereign Immunity.
SCOTUS ruled years ago that the police have no obligation to protect you or your property, just "society" in general.

Massachusetts Matt. And have them complain later and sue the city if they get sick. There is a reason for these regulations man . +yvon malette I have no idea to be honest

it was in fact was a oil train that caught fire
+Esto In USA that doesn't make sense
Oh wow those fire fighters did a good job at stopping those fires
They did! The news media tried to make it sound like most of the town had burnt to the ground. But when I looked at a map of the town's fire damage, I was surprised by how few homes were actually destroyed.

It wasn't in good condition whatsoever. Severe smoke damage and mold forced them to rebuild.
I can relate - when I was a kid they evacuated Mississauga because of a chlorine tanker train derailment. We weren't allowed in to our homes either for weeks. Thankfully it wasn't broken into or looted. So - did you guys move back in and clean it, or did they demolish it and a new one built?

when something bad happens to your friend, you don't fell very well, actually you fell very sad. So now I'm feeling bad, because even if I didn't ever meet you and I wouldn't meet you in my entire life, I consider you as my friend. I tried my best to write this comment but I'm not English or American lol
+TGOT we will always be internet friends :)
+Boosted Lifestyle
now I'm happy
Question, are you guys Canadian? It just sounds like it by the way you guys say your "ou" like in house.
Yes they are, this was in Fort McMurray AB.
Was this in California or Canada?
what caused the fire in the area? just came across the video
Was this in Georgetown Township?
Where did this happen? Is it the huge wildfire in the southwest of the US right now?
+Nick Chinn northern canada
Isn't that the big one that happened recently? I know a few weeks ago the Twin Cities in Minnesota, USA, where I live, had a air quality warning from all the smoke coming down out of Canada.
+Nick Chinn that would be the one, apparent largest natural disaster in canada history
+Boosted Lifestyle wow. Yea ok. It got to the point where it was down to 1/8th mile visibility during the night one of the days. It smelled like a camp fire everywhere.
+Boosted Lifestyle I hope you get everything sorted out eventually.
New here, this was recommended to me, what fire is this guy talking about?
Onion Rings fort McMurray just look it up
A wildfire
So what happens if your house burns down?
Hope at this time watching your video everything went to normal !
+Fidelito in South Florida almost back to normal but still pretty shitty in our area
What did he give you at 0:53?
You call this really bad omg your blessed my brothers house was in a fire yesterday that was bad when you can't get nothing back
This is actually worse than having your home burned down entirely. His home was severely damaged from smoke and water, if your home was burnt insurance would have easily covered that and rebuild for you. Would be harder if it wasn't.
Where? Ft. McMurray, Alta?
Why would it be flooded? Was this not a forest fire?
+P Star it was, but we have water sumps in our basement that rise with the water level. And since nobody had electricity nobody could pump their sumps out
Ahhh
I hope you can keep your home!!!
+Shannon Robinson (SchleichLover) thanks :) I hope so too
Wait, you put the hay bales inside, or someone else did?
+aserta no they were ours we have horses
Curious, what was the event that you were kept out for a month? More in the summary description would be good. Seems like you were lucky.
Howard3S just google fort McMurray fire
Canada's largest wildfire.
Mainly the smoke and the homes still burning kept everyone out that long.
The smoke spread so far it even went into parts of the USA.
The fire was so large it spread into parts of sakatchewan.
What caused all the bugs?
jvolstad what do you think
Bugs practically live underground. So the best from the wildfire caused them all to retreat and find somewhere to hide
How did all of those house burn
What did it smell like? I was helping a friend move out of his apartment recently and the air conditioner unit was really moldy inside, so the whole room smelled like an aquarium/fish tank. It was disgusting and turned my stomach. The landlord didn't do anything about that either. I don't know why he didn't get air fresheners for the room because I would've if the landlord wouldn't clean out the AC unit. And why so many dead bugs? Because of the smell/rotting food?
Bugs escape heat by going into the house thru any gap, but then smoke fills the house.
Alex hvanicedaymthfkr
But if smoke filled the house, then there would be smoke damage.
smoke damage?
Alex hvanicedaymthfkr
Look it up.

What city was this in?
I wish people would list the city and other location info in the description.
