Oh really, what if I told you that the ISA took Vekta from the Helghast and exiled all of them to Helghan just because the Helghast were the most successful in trade and such, they were driven from their homes for that stupid reason alone.
"Visari loses his first battle but gets the band back together to invade Vekta" No. Vekta was the Helghan homeworld, which was extremely prosperous as an important interstellar trade hub. The "First Interstellar War" was old nations on earth got jealous of the Helghan's success and basically kicked them off their own planet so they could have the wealth for themselves, and exiled them to a shitty planet full of noxious fumes in the same system. Generations later, the bitterness and resentment towards the ISA lets Visari seize control as a fascist dictator by promising the Helghans they'd get their homeworld Vekta back. The proceeding games compound the crimes of the ISA by invading Helghan and then genociding their entire population and rendering their world uninhabitable. In killzone, you're arguably playing as the bad guys.
>"Visari gives himself up." Oh really? Because I quite very clearly remember Visari saying loud and clearly, "We, will choke the streets with our DEAD before we surrender. Your masters will BEG me to restore order!! YOU HAVE NOT WON!!! AND YOU WILL NEVER-!!!" before Rico shot him. It's already bad enough you take bribes from big name game companies to give shitty games good scores. But at least have the common decency to play them, good god.
I was watching a killzone mercenary walkthrough and the ISA said that the Helghast were rebels kicked off of Vekta and 90% of things you said about the Helghast were wrong
You ignored Killzone Liberation. Where the remainders of the Helghast forces on Vekta have regrouped and under the command of General Metrac is wreaking havoc in the southern continent. Not to mention the Helghast intentions to capture the ISA's nuclear warheads a critical part of the story in Killzone 2. Or the fact that Vekta was originally a Helghast colony. Although it may have been a PSP game its still adds to the Killzone universe and should have been mentioned.
@wolfman12144 neither have i, the vid is a quick synopsis of the first two games for those who want to play the 3, or want a refresher on the events that happened, killzone 3 comes out this due this month
No wonder Killzone is so unique and special and popular. It looks very cinematic and cool to me. like the cutscene camera view where a few guys base jumps together and circle their heads together in the camera view. etc.
This is THE. SINGLE. WORST. story summary of the Killzone story I have ever heard. IGN, were you just trying to be edgy and cool? I feel bad for people who are trying to get into the Killzone games, and are unfortunate enough to watch this, trying to understand the story.
This game would have been so much funnier and interesting if you played as the Helghast most likely Mael Radec. I mean just look at Playstaion all stars.
@voro122 actually, ISA never "sold" the two planets. The Helghast colonized both of them, but after the first war (happened cause the ISA didn't like the taxes Helghast was taxing the ships passing by), ISA confiscated Vecta from the Helghast after the ISA won the war, which is the nicer of the two planets and lets the Helghast have the shitty Helghan planet. The Helghast were angry and stuff so they invaded Vecta instead, igniting the second war.
This explanation is just god awful you made the isa instantly look like they were the good guys when In fact they started the war but they were caught off guard when the other people fought back instantly labeling the people protecting their homes the evil ones
UCN not ISA, ISA was established after helghast left to Helghan as defence organisation, every planet under UCN have ISA financed and controled by local government and is always meant to be weaker than UCN army
actually the invasion of vekta was a counter invasion because the helghast origionally owned it but the ISA invaded them and took Vekta so the helghast had to escape to helghan so they are the goodies
True that. Luger and Hakha were my favourite characters, and they just happened to be the only ones who vanished off the face of Vekta (or Helghan) after the first game
fishkluch well yes. but the only difference is, is that the ISA kicked Helghan of vekta in the first place. and it was originally part of Helghan. it did not happen because of any war that took places before hand (like with WW 1 with the Germans). but in shear jealousy from ISA because of Helghast's better economy and higher living standers. that is why Helghan doesn't like the ISA. they got fucked over for no reason. and the only thing that they want is to get vekta back (and the elimination of the ISA). So really, they are not so much as Nazis. but a concurred nation, eager to reclaim there homeland (or home planet because it is in space).
junior fio Also i never realised that the ISA forces don't wear masks or anything to help them breath while some helghans that has nearly adapted to the harsh enviroment still need masks to breath while rico and sev are still fine
@SinerAthin well actually, i dont think they are too mindless including in Killzone 3 it pretty much says the Helghast are more advanced than the ISA. i only say they arent humans because they are born on a different planet with different unique traits that makes them different from other humans. but that accurately describes everything up to Killzone 3
2. Helghans weren't actually kicked off Vekta. Earth shipped human refugees to Vekta, and Earth-Vektans were getting persecuted by the Helghans, which forced the government to crackdown on them and brutally punish the Helghans. Rather than continue, they chose to leave for Helghan (which was under the Authority of the Helghan Authority) and eventually the two people would become one and form the Helghan Administration, which would eventually setup the Helghan Empire.
Okay for everyone asking, the music is from the Killzone 2 credits sequence, which you can see here: watch?v=Ps24cWdBFno Just search for the killzone 2 soundtrack online and you'll probably find it. Please thumb this up so people see
I don't remember Rico killing Visari. I was so on hyper-mode after beating the game on Elite that my mind was still stuck on the "stairs open" checkpoint after repeating it like 50 times XD
0:46 The Helghast dress like shults from hulgans heros. And they wear helmets with glowing orange eyes. It makes them scary looking but easy to snipe. *Helghast peeks out and shoots at you, pull trigger, BANG!!! Head pops off.* 2:34 The Helghast insist of wearing their glowing head gear on their home planet.BANG! so there's more sniping. XD
There were a few questionable decisions, such as Rico changing voice actors, and Jan's first name, voice, rank, and age all being changed for no apparent reason. And this is without considering 3 and SF. But yeah, 3 was still the bomb back then.
MOTHER FUCKING YES. "HOGAN'S HEROES" REFERENCE FUCKING ROCKED. Seriously, I feel sorry for some of you guys. Some of these 70's and 80's comedies are pure gold and amazing.
Anyone remember the traitor Helghan that was fighting for the ISA. In the very first Killzone game. He totally disappeared out if the storyline after that. Or did I miss it? Anyone know of him being mentioned from killzone 2 on?
@Daniel03p You can also say.. "Now I will never experience this awesome story first hand, if only I didn't watch this movie and spent 8 hours of my life in full enjoyment of such an epic story".
the UCA. The UCA saw the Helghan Corp as a threat, and began building a fleet to blow through their defenses before taking any other action. They then imposed sanctions on them taking away there right to tax and build a fleet (A clear violation of the agreement they had with the Helghan Corp). Only after they failed to come to an agreement (Earth refusing to honor the deal) did they secede. They attacked first because they knew Earth was coming, and the ISA was loyal to the UCA.
For some reason no one knows the damn backstory at all to the killzone series and always assume that the ISA is the Earth. No ISA are local colonial forces. Earth has the UCN and UCA. The Helghan Corp once owned Vekta, not the Helghast
I did wonder how come the ISA didn't seem to have any trouble breathing on the harsh planet of Helghan. Why don't they need any protective headgear, like the Helghast wore on Vekta?
Ah, the Beach Resort planet I did not know about; that would make more sense (and good one on the historical reference; I hope the story delves more into that ... the morality of fighting a way against an enemy you kind of help create). And no, I don't play COD. I'm trying to get into FPS so I was checking around for one and Killzone popped up. Thanks for answering my questions.
Guerilla Games, NEVER fire your artists. However, you guys seriously need to get that story working, and crunch out some bigger and better campaigns. Make the Single Player longer, more open, and BLEED replay value. More shooters need this these days.
yeah, didnt they send the ISA because it was so far away from earth that they didnt want to send the earths navies. and from my understanding the ISA is basically like a militia for planets? like its funded by its own system and is not a formal military like earths.
Actually you will see Sev in action but not for long....He's at the first stage of Killzone. But you can't reccodnise him if you didn't hear he said "Im Sevchanko" or something
Plot twist: The ISA are the bad guys.
(look it up)
I always thought they were
They turn on each other
Yeah, no way, the Helgans are basically space Nazis. The ISA are nowhere near as bad as that.
Oh really, what if I told you that the ISA took Vekta from the Helghast and exiled all of them to Helghan just because the Helghast were the most successful in trade and such, they were driven from their homes for that stupid reason alone.
Not all but in mercenary Isa is bad and black jack is good
"Visari loses his first battle but gets the band back together to invade Vekta"
No. The proceeding games compound the crimes of the ISA by invading Helghan and then genociding their entire population and rendering their world uninhabitable. In killzone, you're arguably playing as the bad guys.
A prequel where you play as the Helghast fighting the ISA needs to happen!
yeah, being a helghas trying to prevent isa from taking vekta (which you fail)
ISA would be harder to shoot because they don't have glowing goggles.
Sequel. Not prequel. I'm sure many want to see the Helghast win.
69th like!
@@matthewgaviola8885 No, because the ISA have blue glowing boxes on their waists.
Across the solar system? Vekta and Helghahn are in the Alpha Centauri star system.
>"Visari gives himself up."
Oh really? Because I quite very clearly remember Visari saying loud and clearly,
"We, will choke the streets with our DEAD before we surrender. Your masters will BEG me to restore order!! YOU HAVE NOT WON!!! AND YOU WILL NEVER-!!!"
before Rico shot him. It's already bad enough you take bribes from big name game companies to give shitty games good scores. But at least have the common decency to play them, good god.
Buckster355 do you mnlw whats funny.that visary words become truth
This was more humorous but a lot less informative than usual.
Stick with the usual.
They skipped over Killzone liberation too
this guy knows shit about the killzone's story
ISA are actually the bad guys
Vekta was a Helghast word but ISA took it so the Helghast had to settle for Helghan
Ucn not the ISA, ISA was established on Vekta after helghast decided to leave to Helghan
Killzone 1 and 2 in 5 Minutes, not Killzone in 5 Minutes.
Where is killzone 3?
Or liberation and mercinary
Am I the only one who noticed they said "Vetka" Instead of "Vekta"? That threw me off haha
Same
I thought that my memory wasnt holdin up since its been 5 years since i played killzone on the PSP
Although it may have been a PSP game its still adds to the Killzone universe and should have been mentioned.
What if sony released the original Killzone for PS4 with new graphics and all the bugs fixed? I would pay extra for that!
it would be heavan on earth ;-;
The best killzone game was killzone 2
It definitely had the best villain: Col. Raddick.
J-Gonzo's channel Killzone 2 has the best campaign, Killzone 3 had the best multiplayer.
Radec!
Playing against the AI in 3's multiplayer was almost endless fun, much better than with other people.
NO KILLZONE MERCENARY
KILLZONE SHADOW FALL
KILLZONE3
Agreed
I been playing kz,kz2,kz3 for 4 years now. still the best game btw am #1 big fan of kz
1:55 NUT SHOT
It s vekta not vetka
vodka :v
@wolfman12144 neither have i, the vid is a quick synopsis of the first two games for those who want to play the 3, or want a refresher on the events that happened, killzone 3 comes out this due this month
Helghasts look fucking awesome! I always hated the way the ISA looked.
2 years later and i completly agree
I know this comment is two years old but I'm a huge fan of Killzone and I thought this was hilarious. It's clearly meant to be joke.
2 years and a pandemic later... and still true
For the people saying it's only 3:48, you can see that he said sort of just after he said kill zone in 5mins
This game would have been so much funnier and interesting if you played as the Helghast most likely Mael Radec. I mean just look at Playstaion all stars.
Can you imagine game where you are playing as Col. Radec on his way to establish Radec academy and how he was climbing ranks in millitary
I'm here because I never looked up Killzone and Helldivers 2 now has a collab.
IGN thi video has so many mistakes have you ever EVER play the games.
@voro122 actually, ISA never "sold" the two planets. The Helghast colonized both of them, but after the first war (happened cause the ISA didn't like the taxes Helghast was taxing the ships passing by), ISA confiscated Vecta from the Helghast after the ISA won the war, which is the nicer of the two planets and lets the Helghast have the shitty Helghan planet. why does it say 5 minutes when its in 3 minutes???
"Sort of"
(sort of)
@Triaxal it does say killzone in 5 mins (sort of) which allows for the 1 min 12 seconds it was under :D
Great! Now I don't have to buy a PS3! :) Thanks IGN!
Wow this comment was before you're verified
Golden Days
This explanation is just god awful you made the isa instantly look like they were the good guys when In fact they started the war but they were caught off guard when the other people fought back instantly labeling the people protecting their homes the evil ones
UCN not ISA, ISA was established after helghast left to Helghan as defence organisation, every planet under UCN have ISA financed and controled by local government and is always meant to be weaker than UCN army
Killzone, the Halo Killer that didnt even Hurt Halo but Killed itself :D
please update it.
I really hope we get a new game. At this point, a reboot or otherwise.
"Vetka" . . .
actually the invasion of vekta was a counter invasion because the helghast origionally owned it but the ISA invaded them and took Vekta so the helghast had to escape to helghan so they
are the goodies
OMG Jet Packs Son!!!
love these man, keep making them.
The only good killzone was the first one in my opinion
True that. Luger and Hakha were my favourite characters, and they just happened to be the only ones who vanished off the face of Vekta (or Helghan) after the first game
Essentially space nazis and space ww2
fishkluch some what. the Helgan got fucked over before the war. so that is why they don't like the ISA.
kinda like how Germany got fucked over before WWII? I do like the killzone games on a side note.
fishkluch well yes. but the only difference is, is that the ISA kicked Helghan of vekta in the first place. and it was originally part of Helghan. it did not happen because of any war that took places before hand (like with WW 1 with the Germans). but in shear jealousy from ISA because of Helghast's better economy and higher living standers. that is why Helghan doesn't like the ISA. they got fucked over for no reason. and the only thing that they want is to get vekta back (and the elimination of the ISA). /_FR0STB1T3_/ I would have never thought of that. Good point
3:22 Visari: Madness....
Rico: Madness? THIS IS SPARTAAAAA!!!!!!!
killzone serious is my favourite series - because it has good sound effects, music and voice acting and an epic storyline
IGN narrators on all related videos is always ace. Jetpacks SON! xD

I dont know which Killzone 3 you played but it was an amazing story, and multi player felt new.
I'm just wondering, where does the PSP offering fall into all of this?
The biggest fuck up of this series is Rico.
I agree the Helghast are at a huge disadvantage because their helmets have GLOWING RED EYES that makes it easier to snipe them in the head.
i like when Rico curses alot :D
The jet pack thing in the end killed it...if it ever began
@virtuafighterman well this video DOES say "spoiler alert" so it fits
"Visari gives himself up, but Rico goes crazy again and kills him"
LOL
I don't remember Rico killing Visari. I was so on hyper-mode after beating the game on Elite that my mind was still stuck on the "stairs open" checkpoint after repeating it like 50 times XD

i love these in five minute vids
There were a few questionable decisions, such as Rico changing voice actors, and Jan's first name, voice, rank, and age all being changed for no apparent reason. And this is without considering 3 and SF.
But yeah, 3 was still the bomb back then.
Templar wasn't a grunt... I even think that in the the first game, he was already a captain.
"Luckily, the Helghan economy is based on moving explosive material around in barrels, which gives the humans an edge in combat."
MOTHER FUCKING YES. "HOGAN'S HEROES" REFERENCE FUCKING ROCKED.
Seriously, I feel sorry for some of you guys. Some of these 70's and 80's comedies are pure gold and amazing.
Hulk hogans heros
1:27 fantastic voice acting 😂

@Daniel03p You can also say.. "Now I will never experience this awesome story first hand, if only I didn't watch this movie and spent 8 hours of my life in full enjoyment of such an epic story".
@jamsterskater when ppl make vids about games in "5" or "10" mins, it means they do it less than 5 or 10 minutes.
the UCA. The UCA saw the Helghan Corp as a threat, and began building a fleet to blow through their defenses before taking any other action. They then imposed sanctions on them taking away there right to tax and build a fleet (A clear violation of the agreement they had with the Helghan Corp). Who remembers playing killzone 1 when your like 5 anfelt the graphics were beast
I did wonder how come the ISA didn't seem to have any trouble breathing on the harsh planet of Helghan. Why don't they need any protective headgear, like the Helghast wore on Vekta?
The end credit song in killzone is sick
I forgot who is good and bad I just know everyone eventually betrayed each other.
I love the music at the end!
Does anyone know whats it called, i can't find it :(
The title says 5 mins...but the video says 3:48
The jet packs look like huge spiders on your back
Sev has arachnophobia and denies wearing them throughout the whole game :P
I was hoping for a 5 minute video that actually tells us what Killzone is about seriously.
this isnt killzone in 5 minutes... this is killzone in 3:48 minutes...
"It makes them scary-looking, but easy to snipe!" *BANG*
Amen, brother!!
Killzone in 5 minutes. 3 minutes 47 seconds. Close enough.
0:57 he is mad because he cant sleep
Killzone in 5 minutes....in 3 minutes and 48 seconds.
u forgot kill zone liberation which took place after the 1st killzone
you've forgotten about killzone liberation
Lol "and somehow the important guys surive" lmao made my day
Can't believe IGN used to do reviews like this 🔥
Ah, the Beach Resort planet I did not know about; that would make more sense (and good one on the historical reference; I hope the story delves more into that ... the morality of fighting a way against an enemy you kind of help create). And no, I don't play COD. I'm trying to get into FPS so I was checking around for one and Killzone popped up. Thanks for answering my questions.
2:46 Rico goes nuts "Muuutthafuucckkkaaas!" lol
Him: "Omg jet packs son!" Me "like like like like!!!!!"
God of War, Killzone and Uncharted. There we go
"Somehow all the IMPORTANT people survive" lol this guy is like the KING of sarcasm!...next 2 Seth Macfarlane and Steve Carell ofcourse
2 things i like about this game
-the good guys aren't really the good guys
-it's futuristic warfare with people vs people, not fucking aliens
Guerilla Games, NEVER fire your artists. However, you guys seriously need to get that story working, and crunch out some bigger and better campaigns. Make the Single Player longer, more open, and BLEED replay value. More shooters need this these days.
@EDventions thank you so much. i just forgot all about the video after 3:48
yeah, didnt they send the ISA because it was so far away from earth that they didnt want to send the earths navies. and from my understanding the ISA is basically like a militia for planets? like its funded by its own system and is not a formal military like earths.
The red eyes can be seen from across the map great sniper bonus.
"But Rico goes crazy again... and murders him instead"
LOL
Actually you will see Sev in action but not for long....He's at the first stage of Killzone. But you can't reccodnise him if you didn't hear he said "Im Sevchanko" or something
I would be thoroughly impressed by your concise, well-informed synopsis of Killzone if it weren't for the fact they're actually VEKTANS.
That pisses the helghast of, so they decide to nuke their own capital.
Helghast soldier: Well GG guys...
Now THAT was a story
