- In this video I go through the simple process of replacing the gasket for the vacuum pump on my 2.5TDi VW transporter. This is relatively straight forward to complete and shouldnt take more than 15 minutes, however it is a little bit fiddly and like most things, a bit of patience helps.
Only a 13mm ring spanner and 13mm small socket on flexi elbow.
As I show in the video the aftermaket gasket I got wasn't big enough and I ended up getting an OEM gasket from my local VW van centre dealership.
v 075 145 117C this is the part number for the replacement gasket.
Its not just a how to, theres also a little tip for making it easier when it comes to installation.

When you pulled the carboard out I thought someone was reversing your van. :D

HI WHERE do I get a new vacuum pump hose?iv look everywhere I got one from autofocus but that was the wrong one.vw t4 2002 tdi multivan caravelle cheers
Oi Twiggs, well done mate. How hard is it to remove the pump 1-10? Shame the aftermarket one was too thin. Cheers
Only a few tools needed, but requires patience as it is a little bit fiddly with the nuts, I would say it’s a 1 if you got small spanner/socket, I done it a few years ago before I got new tools and back then it was probably more like a 5
@@TwiggsT4 Got three sets of sockets and well enough spanners, so tools shouldn't be a problem. Gotta order gasket first, then off to the pump. Looks a bit fiddly due to the pump location. Thanks for the reply. Cheers
Yeah it is fiddly hence needing some patience. I’m sure if you got a selection of tools then you’ll be fine, you got this 💪👌🤙
How clean is that engine bay 😂 makes mine look terrible
@@bestysbits2071 I don't want to brag, but mine is quite clean and tidy as well :P I've managed to replace the vacuum pump without complications too!
