That CPU limited benchmark is actually very interesting. Having the PS4 code run at 70fps or more is pretty great. A properly optimized port would run way better though. It can put asset streaming load onto the PS5’s compression/ decompression engine and Xbox’ “velocity architecture”. Current gen consoles also have dedicated hardware for audio so that’s more load taken off the CPU.

Greed. That's the reason they haven't done it. I wouldn't expect some patch out of nowhere. They will sell it again as a standalone game for full price to milk their customers. They did it with GTA 5, and they did it with RDR1 for PS4 and Switch.
Yep, regardless of how easily & fast a simple 60fps patch with "increased settings" could be implemented, of course they won't do any of that without a paid re-release in the form of a "remaster" for the sell to be justified. F them ;(
RDR1 isn't full price, though. Plus, the game didn't even exist for the PS5 and Switch, so it's not like GTA V where you could play the other version already (Switch doesn't have GTA V, obviously).
@@marcelosoares7148 Whatever price the recent RDR1 release was, it's still not justified IMO. It's the exact same game with the same assets, nothing changed except increased resolution and FPS which you would get if you got a new PC. If it was a proper remake/remaster, then fair enough. GTA 5 stretched that definition since it's still the same core game, with a few RT effects sprinkled on.

They're just not the kind to release a 60fps patch. Maybe they will release a remastered version otherwise it will most likely stay that way. And GTA 6 is going to be 30fps no doubt and no, they won't have a performance and fidelity mode.
I have both current-gen consoles and played RDR2 on Series X; there is one good thing about back-compatability mode -- it doesn't take up 140GB on expensive fast storage. If MS and Sony only required fast storage where it makes sense, or if Rockstar patched it via One X / PS 4 version with FPS boost, I'd replay it in 60fps.
Replaying it at maximum settings locked at 120 fps with DLDSR rendering at 2.25x native res and then downscaling to 4k. It creates an incredibly sharp image that shows off the astounding detail in the game. Best way to play period, but it essentially requires a 4090.
While increased frame rates would be great, the one feature I'd be happiest about with a proper PS5/XSX would be having much faster load times and superior data streaming while exploring the game's environments.
It just shows how far from reality those Developers are from real gamers. A RDR 2 60 fps game would sell good, don't even make an update. What else would you expect from the Rockstar? They do this sort of thing all the time. Just to get some example, RDR2 did run basically locked 60 fps on my old server CPU i3-10300. Only around 50-55fps dips below did happen during some heavier CPU scenarios in the city. This is not a CPU heavy game to run locked 60 fps.
The PS4 Pro version has one of the blurriest image I've ever seen. I almost didn't finish it there. Years later, after migrating to PC for good, I finally experienced RDR2 the proper way.

6:38 RDR2 on PC has had stuttering issues for as long as I can recall. I've played over 350hrs of RDR2 on PC. When I saved up a lot of money to spoil myself on a better and beefier PC, hoping it would eliminate stuttering altogether in this game, I was only left disappointed with the stuttering still being present. (I didn't upgrade my PC just for this game). I have a 4090, 13900K, 64GB of DDR5 at 5600, and a 2TB Samsung 980 Pro - hardware surely cannot be the issue here. I have tried deep diving the issue on the internet and tried out DF's optimized settings, using DLSS/FSR when those were added in, limiting the framerate, changing from fullscreen to borderless windowed, vsync on/off, fastsync on/off, gsync on/off, even went into the system.xml file to manually change async to "true," and also tried out DX12 and Vulkan. The traversal stuttering the PC version has is something that's only on PC, and Rockstar has never tried to resolve the issue. As I'm fully aware, Rockstar's number one priority with their games is focusing on console optimization and nothing with PC's.

Your gonna be waiting for a while then buddy, probably will be waiting your whole life because the chances of Rockstar never delivering a update for the frame rate to unlock or even a slight bump in visuals is possible as well. Like the other poster said, I would play it if I were you, despite it being 30FPS it still a amazing game. Although the Xbox version is the definitive version if you want the best visuals in performance since they run the game in native 4K while PS runs it 4k checkerboard.
So Rickroll star went woke. Why have they not upscaled RDR2? Because it has masculenity, no queer cutsceens, gender confusion or pronoun crap. Btw, this is from an insider at Rockstar who stated there is a huge hatred of the RDR series and its fans. The likelyhood of it ever be upscaled is probably never. If they do it will include changed content with woke junk in it.
As a PC gamer - the game supports FSR 2.2 - all they have to do is release the game with high/medium settings at FSR qualilty mode in 4k and it will do 60 FPS easy.. idk why they have not done it yet.
I have kind of a dumb theory as to Why R* has Not yet released a next gen RDR2 version. Rockstar is very obsessed with people being impressed with their next project, the perception of how far they have pushed everything, especially graphically, compared to their previous work. My theory is that they feel like if they release a ray-traced remaster of a game like RDR2 (which alreasy looks this stunning) before VI, it would decrease the "wow" feeling when people first play GTA VI.

Tough choice. If they do a patch let’s say 10 dollars. People will complain and bash the company. If they do it for free they lose a lot of money for no reason as all people who wanted the game already bought it. Not to mention losing development time that could be used to improve gta6.
It’s a no win situation. That’s why they just leave it alone.
This is what I hate about consoles... You don't get things like 60fps or 4K unless the devs tell you you can have it..Rockstar is like "O you want 60fps?. no problem..just wait until we release a remastered version and you can pay for it again"
This is my problem with consoles, if this limitation did not exist I would have already thrown away my PC years ago
That is also why consoles feel better to play on PC, that's why the FPS cap for example is way better on Console than PC. They should at least have a toggle for resolution and 60 fps at least.

F them ;(

The traversal stuttering the PC version has is something that's only on PC, and Rockstar has never tried to resolve the issue. They’re not putting a 60fps mode cause if they fuck up the 60fps on gta6 and lock it 30, it will be a bad look to the “consumers” to go from 60 to 30
They do that every generation. But here it doesn't make sense because we've had 4k on console since 2017.
The cpu's are stronger now so it shouldn't be a problem but Rockstar is yet to change anything.
You're right about GTA though. That might not even run at 30.
@@MrJflomario they’re weird, rockstar acts like Apple, providing a great product but being pretty faceless and only focused on maximising money
@@stephengiann1717 Good analogy. The less customer facing they are, the less they have to answer for their antics.
The economy in GTA online is so bad, and despite millions of complaints we've never seen any issue with that game addressed outside of exploits.
@@MrJflomariohow this comment got 5 likes is insane.... I can smell the Schizophrenia energy from a mile away 😭😭
@@RonniSchmidt-mi7pd Which one of us is schizo? 🤔
The system they built is only based on the ps5’s specifications not the series X. The series X gpu is very much the RX 6700 xt which is a 12gb card and I’m surprised they didn’t implement this
