    Thank you so much. I just had a gentleman at Home Depot cut me two. Winds up 50-60$! They also mixed up some paint and primer with Bayer black paint that came up $16 additional dollars.... after putting it together at the house it was a little bit off in the front and it makes the game slant up..... not your fault just the way I put it together. At the end of the day it actually works because the game slsnts up towards you as you are standing as if you are shooting off a deer stand so winds up being a better experience for me😂.

    I modified this design a little.
    At the 4 corners, I used a 2x4 upright on the inside, same height at the two "inner" boards (11.5 inches) with the long side against the front. I put 3 screws into each side of each corner (still pre-drilled and countersunk). This not only makes the connection stronger than a couple screws lengthwise into a 1/2 inch width board but instead into a more substantial 2x4, but also gives 4 corner anchor points for the top supports.
    I also only used 1 inner panel since i already had both corners. The top supports had 2 corners and the middle inner panel.
    On my first one, i screwed the inner panel the same way in the video but even with predrilling it felt weak, so on the other 2 I got out of the sheet of MDF I used a 2x2 the same way I used the 2x4 in the corners. Made for a more robust connection and additional support for the top supports.

    Great video, thank you for the measurements!! For those wondering, 1/2" MDF 4x8 is now about 50 bucks thanks to the pandemic and inflation. However, given the risers are at least that alone, and you can build more than 1 out of a 4x8 sheet, it's still the better option.

    I put mine on milk crates and they fit on there like a glove. It leaves 8 inches sticking out that makes a great foot stool playing sitting or a step for kids. If you are really tall like me you could even stack two more on top for a 22 inch lift. You could also duct tape them together and then dress them up to match your cab. I like the way it looks. My biggest complaint about the riser... it's still not tall enough. Have you thought about doubling the height of the rise? That would put the arcade1Up machine closer to the original height of these retro arcade games from the '80s.

    • @fkfdfireman
      @fkfdfireman  4 роки тому +1

      Absolutely- I copied the factory OEM specs so that it would match the rest of my machines, but yes if someone wanted to they could simply add to the factory specs and make them taller- that’s a preference thing but very easily done👍🏻😊

    • @fkfdfireman
      @fkfdfireman  4 роки тому +1

      I used a gloss black enamel and a 3 dollar roller kit and rolled it. The roller gave it that corrugated texture which matched the originals very well. I did not add the arcade logo because I made 2 risers that matched, i simply set them on each side of the other games and they blended in welk. I have a local auto trim store that will make the Logo stickers for a cheap price- I have just not added them at this point. Also there are several on line companies that make riser sticker kits. But solid black works well and literally no one has noticed the difference yet. I also thought about making a stencil and just spray painting the logo on on gray. I may do that in the near future.
