    Once again, you are the man! Another perfect example of understanding that the goal is a few really good fish[ some days one really good fish], and that some of us would trade a lot of average fish for one good one. ..up here in Ontario Canada, being successful in gin-clear water is difficult, the trout get easily spooked..you have to crawl up to a stream like that on your belly, and stay 20 feet back from the water's edge if you want to nail a big one. Footstep vibration can send them packing too. Question: Do those fish have any predators down there?

    Are these sea-runs ... just beautiful fish with some real shoulders! The video was spot on with gorgeous scenery .... it is said that "trout don't live in ugly places". I'd love to know what boot sole material you guys wear on those rivers. I used some of those "state of the art" rubber soles for the first time last year here in central Pennsylvania, and didn't even get both feet into the creek before I went down hard. Like walking on greased bowling balls! Ended up in the hospital emergency room the very next day, thinking I may have broken some bones in my left ankle because I couldn't put any weight on it at all. Turned out to be some real bad bruising ... had to stay off of it for almost two weeks. Went right back to my felt soles after that experience. Take care

      No they are resident fish as far as I know.
      Wading boots are generally some sort of rubber as felt is illegal to use here.
      You can add studs but I don’t bother - you just get used to it and I like to use a wading stick a lot too. That really helps things!

      @@TrippinOnTrout I was using a wading stick when I busted my backside. There is no getting used to some of these streams ... you have to wear the proper footwear to match the surface you are trying to navigate. Just like water and oil don't mix, these new techy boots are worthless in a number of circumstances. I guess you had to be there. I would not be able to wade at all, if my state banned felt soles and they know it. Right now I'm only on one watershed that I am using my felts on. If I plan to go to another I can always clean them in order to not transfer something to another watershed. What I am saying is that I used those techy(brand new) boots and went down HARD. I've been wading for over 60 years, so this is not my first rodeo. Not trying to argue with you, just trying to understand your stream bottom situation and how you are able to safely (relatively) keep the right end pointing toward the sky. Take care.

    You should add a mark on the net say around the 20inch or 24inch mark im curious how long these nice fish are. Keep the vids comming love them from the states.

      Those nets have length markings all along it, I’m just not that bothered about lengths or weights of fish. I’ll try and remember to measure some for you guys in the future. 🤙🤙

      Yes I do but only up to water that is around 8-10ft deep. Any more than that and I’ll sway over and build my own leader from scratch. Otherwise you just can’t fish deep enough

      what's so wrong with catch and eat?

    • @TrippinOnTrout
      @TrippinOnTrout  3 роки тому +2

      @@itsrecordingman From those rivers with a fragile ecosystem, they can’t handle people taking fish as it has too much of an impact on them.
      Other rivers such as my local ones that run into a huge lake, it’s not a problem as there are heaps of fish. Just have to be selective about what you are doing IF you take a fish that’s all.
      For me, it’s just a personal thing - I don’t want to keep fish.
