Still Climbing

Despite the few hours I can afford to fly in real life, each hour is one more step in the climb. Despite how slow it is, I am still climbing.
And when I cannot fly or instruct, I try to keep the other senses sharp. Climbing and rekindling the distant dream that fascinated me as young.
Holding history in your hand, treating the legacy with respect and skill.
Climbing above the clouds to a world no eagle has seen.
Ending the daydream with a purpose at hand, bringing her down safely again without power, practicing engine failure in both the virtual and real sky.
The last real flight on December 1st. 95 days of looking up and pondering how long it will take, saving the little cash I can spare. 95 days in the mist, on the ground and in my mind.
Then March 5th comes promising crosswinds and enough money saved, throwing it all in for a two hour escape. Half an hour preparing the aircraft on the ground and 1.5 hours in the air. Two hours of calm.
Taking her up to practice emergencies and see how my stick and rudder skills have faded.
Finding the muscle memories coming back and the basics still sits. Returning to the focused calm. Sideslipping down to fly another day.
Back on the ground the spirit uplifted.
The past 95 days forgotten.
The foundations of your training resurfaced.
The focused calm still holding on.
And now the saving starts again.
Finding purpose and making a difference to others.
Teaching them to fly or bringing them safely home.
Flying is all I know.
Resuming the climb.
One hour at a time.

Put the max on your steps, just keep climbing if this path is your way, keep strait in up if your legs can, keep it all, because there is nothig better tnan that. just keep on even virtual

@ keep going, the world has unimportance now, just glide at the thin azur line makes a breathless bird or a raven sniffing or a condor master of the air and stand, and one day, you will land, proud like never saying i did it, it was nothing, but you climbed the clouds and the are not existing, just some sorrow from earth and space has began.
