  • In my his video I’ll review the Staccato CS 2011. I think Staccato exaggerated just a little on my GS size.

    I really like Staccato pistols. My daily carry is a Staccato C. My Staccato P would be great if I still wore a uniform. I tried to carry the C2, but it just wasn't as easy to conceal as the C, so it sits in the gun safe. I had hopes for the CS, but the grip length and profile still doesn't lend itself to concealed carry, at least not in the 3:30 position. (It is probably okay for AIWB carry, but that's for others, not for me.) And the CS that I reviewed wasn't as accurate as my C or C2. Thanks for a good, honest review.

    Thank you for saying what I've been noticing with all of these staccato CS "reviews". Everyone talks about how this gun is great for CCW over the C2 but it's essentially the same size in the two dimensions that matter most for concealing: grip length and width. I understand the grip is "slimmer" but only in radius due to being less blocky and more contoured compared to the C2. It'll make a slight (and I do mean slight) difference since the back of the grip is slimmer, but in reality most people concealing this or the C2 won't really notice that difference. In fact, the longer slide of the C2 will make it easier to conceal for a lot of people, especially people who carry AIWB, since the longer slide will help keep the gun vertical against the body instead of tipping over like short guns tend to do. Where the CS grip is better, is ergonomics while shooting for a lot of people. It's similar to the argument of people not liking Glocks because the grip is so blocky. That said, as annoying as it is to spend upwards of $2,500 for a pistol and then paying to have work done, a lot of staccato C2 and P shooters get the grips stippled and reduced so it becomes a moot point. The P now has the new CS style grip, hopefully the C2 will soon.

    Maybe i’m
    dating myself saying this , but when I carried “ at work” , we first carried 6 shot S&W revolvers , when we went to Autos I carried a Sig 226, and for a spell a full size 1911. I guess I have just never worried about capacity , as much as the new breed of shooters, I always felt first shots on target , usually won a gun fight . I bought a Staccatto P, and didn’t feel comfortable with the grip , Im
    more of a standard 1911 grip to be comfortable guy.Recently , I went to the dark side and ordered my first 9mm 1911, a Night Hawk Councelor , I had always bought 1911’s in .45. I considered the CS, but went with the Night Hawk, I really enjoyed your video, I am now a subscriber . 15:57

    Mine came in 2 weeks ago and I love it. Fits my hand well and shoots quicker than I can (and prolly better lol)
    I found I shoot an inch low even with my Leupold DPP maxed out on its elevation, but I’m fairly certain it’s me.
    That and you hit the nail on the head that it’s definitely snappier than I expected, but still comes back on target quick. That recoil impulse causes my left/forward thumb to slip off the frame with my usual thumbs forward grip to the point I I think I’m going to get some of the Talon grip material and put a patch on the frame.
    Those are my only 2 cons though and they even feel like I’m nit-picking about it lol

    I appreciate the honest review and it mirrors my experience. I shot the CS way back in December next to my Wilson SFX nine and my nighthawk counselor. Several hundred rounds on both steel and paper. I agree with your comments. If you were trying to get a small 2011 carry, this gun is great. The Wilson is better in every way. It’s smaller, the grip is aluminum with no grip panels making it very thin. It’s beautifully rounded everywhere to make it incredibly comfortable to put on your hip. It’s also a lot more money and harder to find.
    I bought a CS and it’s currently out getting ported. Somehow it seems just wrong to port the Wilson or Nighthawk. I dropped the trigger as well but now that I know there’s no issue I’ll probably throw an atlas trigger in there. Then we’ll see on the snappiness.
    Subscribed. 😀

    @GR1videos Great review! Nice to see an honest in depth review... I was told by Staccato that the CS aluminum trigger is proprietary to the CS when I asked if the XC trigger could be swapped from polymer to aluminum. Not feeling great about the fact it seems they out right lied about it being proprietary.

    @highxj Рік тому +4

    Ha! I noticed this as well, and you're the first reviewer to either notice it or mention it. If you look at the grip from the rear, it's actually tapered a bit, getting narrower in the bottom 3/4 or so. I believe the only thing different about the frame and internals is the mag catch, which has the ledge inset more towards the middle to work with the narrower mags. While I haven't tried it, I think you could stick the CS grip on any other Staccato chassis.

    Every hand is different but I have small/medium hands and this grip is NOTICEABLY different than my C2. I think the grip is absolutely perfect as it is. Smaller would be too small (365 Macro). Not sure why anyone would want a really small grip. I feel like even small women can get their hands on this thing.

      I own them all with the exception of the C. It all depends on your body and what u are comfortable carrying. The c2 has less recoil and is more accurate than the Cs. But is bigger than a g19 vs the cs is around the 43x in size. I'm 5'8 185lbs and live in Miami so not much layers to hide firearms. So the cs is a better edc to hide. but if I found myself in a situation of a mass shooter with a rifle at 30-50yrds and I had my c2 I'm confident I can possibly win that fight. With the CS i wouldn't engage and hide for a batter position. I'm currently A ranked USPA and a former ranger. Also the c2 uses standard 2011 mags. So u can use the 20rd from the P/XC/XL and atlas 22rd mags. The cs has its own proprietary 16rd mag.

    Good honest review. I went with the Bul Armory SAS II Ultralight. Grip is a tad thicker. But the cost and availability was the determining factor for me. $1600 compared to $2900. Because I wanted the CS with the flat trigger. Add all the other fees, shipping, transfer fees, etc. Overall I like the Bul and it is smaller than the CS with the same performance.

    Hey, buddy. Came across an old video of you shooting a 34 with a comp. You got a new subscriber. Off topic, but let me ask you this. Do you think it would be worth it to take a glock 35 and put a kkm 9mm conversion barrel/comp in it? It's about a $300 investment. Accurate better than all the other smaller pistols I’ve tried. For me I wasn’t miss lead. I was stoked to have 3 mags since many guns come with 2 and Kimber comes with 1.
