Shout out to you though I think you’re the only person to make a video on this exact problem. Same thing happened to me with that cheap plastic bracket
Damn I'm about to buy one of those metal ones before mine breaks, but I'm scared it's going to break the whole rod off the master cylinder like it did his
2013 gt here brother... Christmas day going to see my wife and as I start the car the plastic piece snaps in half... going to go ahead and change out the whole master cylinder and clutch line while I'm down there this coming weekend!! Definitely appreciate the video and you making it look a lot easier than I will 🤣👍 thanks brother and merry Christmas
man that happened to me but in a chick fil a drive thru 😂 on my 2011 mustang gt , stupid small plastic broke and left me stranded for hours! but hopefully you got it fixed thomas!
came in clutch my boy! mine snapped on me in a chick fil a drive thru on my 2011 mustang 5.0😅 haha , i was frsking out because i couldn’t find out what happened, took me a while until i saw your video and we had the same problem. Thank you so much man! helped me save 500$ dealer price 👍🏽
That clutch plastic eyelet is what stranded me a couple days ago. I just bought that metal part off eBay and I was gonna replace the entire cylinder but i need my car for work lol. But I’ll definitely be using your vid if I ever need to replace it. 🤘
Thanks for the video bro ,Same problem with the plastic part ( master cylinder rod ) fortunately the master cylinder didn't brake so I just replaced for an aluminium part almost a year ago and still working.
Thanks for the video bro! It was very helpful.. It got me through the process. You were missing some things that I felt needed to be included but I was able to figure it out on my own.. Still, I really appreciated this video, I watched it several times
please let me know what you think I left out. the aim was to be as in depth as possible. Sorry that I missed a few things, but glad I was able to help nonetheless!!
Ahhhh my bad on missing the bleed. Doing these things I gotta remember I can’t assume everyone knows the same things I do! Thank you for the feedback 🙏🏽
Whatsup bro! Great video! Super helpful👍👍 Was wondering if you had any problems cruise control afterwards? I have the same car but the welded bar that holds clutch cable clip to the pedal broke. Temporarily fixed with industrial strength zipties ( I'm cheap😆) but now my cruise control isn't working.
You probably need to change the housing on the thermostat. Those plastic cheap things always leak. Find a metal on eBay. That’s why my Stang kept over heating.
I ran into issue...the two hoses one connects to break fluid and another right below it. The one that connects to the fluid has clip but the other doesn't so not sure how to unplug it & it's also difficult to reach. Did you have any issue with unplugging the hoses?
Im confused, I have a 2011 and I bought a pedal assembly from a 2009, I notice that the 2005-09 S197 don’t have a spring… 2011-2014 do, I wonder if I’m going to have issues with this
How’s it holding up after replacing it because I did the same thing with mine and it broke the rod after the plastic broke. Oh and how did you get the plastic eye off the new master cylinder
For anyone who does this and their brake pedal squeals like a balloon, apparently the O-ring on the brake booster can be damaged during install. My 3V squealed for 4 years before I sold it. Never knew the reason until recently.
Hey man im trying to avoid this issue. Did you attach your new metal bushing you bought to the new master cylinder you installed? Have you had any more issues with it snapping the rod?
I replaced the plastic "eye bushing" with an aluminum piece after the stock piece split in half. I kept getting a clicking sound whenever I pressed the clutch to the floor after installing the aluminum piece. The clicking was never there with the stock plastic piece. Today the car wouldn't start and I suspected that the battery was bad. I did a load test and it was marginal so I bought a new battery, but the car still won't start. I think the safety switch might be bad, but there appears to be two switches so I don't know which one might be the culprit.
The top safety switch is for the cruise control. My cruise control wasn't working for a while and it turns out I somehow bent a metal tab at the top of the clutch pedal and it wasn't hitting the switch so my cruise control was out until I bent it back with some pliers. But yeah I have had my fair share of pedal issues, the steel rod that sticks out of my clutch pedal that goes to the ring actually bent and came off my pedal lol. I took the pedal assembly off and reinforced it with steel L-brackets and all sorts of bolts n stuff and JB weld to seat the steel piece. It lasted two years but now my pedal started creaking lightly yesterday and after I inspected it today, sure enough that steel piece is slightly off center from the pedal and will eventually come loose again lol. So I'll just repeat all of this again heh...
help, I have a 2005 V6 mustang. Driving to work my clutch peddle hit the floor. I heard it snap. The shop wants to charge me over. $500 for master cylinder. I took the bus to work, I just found the broken eyelet in my shoe!. My question is, can this part be replaced by its self or do I need the whole cylinder?. Being a women im constantly be overcharged for auto repairs!. I try to do as much a i can myself. But just not today.
Bro just happened to me last weekend. But did you have problems getting the car into gear before it snapped? Like I had the clutch all the way to the floor and still couldn’t get it into first gear. If so lmk
Bro I had trouble with that the way I did It I got like a real skinny needle like the ones people use for sewing and stick it through and bent it than use pliers to grab both ends and I yanked and it came out enough to stick a flat head in it . But now I having trouble sticking that pin back in .. why it gotta be the smallest thing that’s make it harder
Dammit! I have one thing stopping me and its not here in the video its that god damn pin holding the clutch pipe to trans. I cant even tuck under to pull it out with a 0.5 torque. Definitely cant do it fro. The front cause its pinned toward the brakes. Have to do it upside down and still cant pull it. My neighbors hear the wrath.
Hey yall just a 2024 update on this. I actually had problems putting the car into gear before my plastic piece snapped. It’s currently at my mechanics shop. I’m going to have him replace the hinge piece rod piece first and then I’ll get back to the comments and see if that worked.
Could I just replace that peice that connects to the pedal that’s black if I still have the rod on the clutch master?? Or would I still needa replace the whole thing
How do you keep the eyelet from slipping off the clutch portion? I know there’s an Allen screw to keep it on the master cylinder, but mine keeps slipping off to the left off the pedal portion
@@MarioHeadJr Is there a way to just take off the clutch pedal? The metal shaft that connects to the master cylinder broke off. I need to weld it back on.
the rubber hose connected to the reservoir take some pliers and and move the clamp down and it will come off the metal hose has a clip on the side and you can remove it and pull the metal one off
@@skizzyman usually after removing the metal clamps with pliers, I'll open the pliers up just a tad bit more, and lightly place it on the hose itself and wiggle back and forth. I only do that to loosen it up. You gotta be careful though because you can break the reservoir since its made out of plastic! Good luck!
Shout out to you though I think you’re the only person to make a video on this exact problem. Same thing happened to me with that cheap plastic bracket
Cheap plastic strikes again

Thank you so much, this video was exactly what I needed since the same thing happened to mine today. Thanks for making this video, man.
Thank u for this video. Was a tremendous help. Saved me a bunch of time and frustration and probably a headache.
Glad it was helpful!
U did a good job w your video on the clutch part replacement. Keep up the great job

The eBay part is super clutch! (No pun intended)
Does anyone have a link to that metal part
Appreciate the video! Gonna be doing mine this week! Super detailed, ill let you know how it goes!
awesome man! glad this video could be of help to you!!
1:00 AM just finished installing the new master cylinder.. thanks for the video man!!
Boy that was a workout, never again GOD welling lol
So glad it helped you!
This vid helps. I just installed the gt500 master cylinder .. solved my lockout issues
I heard this was the move!
Saving lives 1 Mustang at a time , thanks bro !

Ahhhh my bad on missing the bleed. Doing these things I gotta remember I can’t assume everyone knows the same things I do! Thank you for the feedback 🙏🏽
And everything at the end was just inverse of the removal process I believe.
Mario Head, Jr. y’all did good
super helpful man really appreciate the video happened to my 06 recently and your video is clutch
06 mustang just happened to me this past weekend
Helped me out! Try burbing for over heating
You saved my life man! Badass Video.
Great job! But how did you bleed the clutch?
The video was helpful, thank you.
Thanks! This was very helpful!!
You can shift through all gears without clutch up and down but down is more difficult

thanks! I ended up swapping out nearly all the cooling components lol. even put new head gaskets on it
Did you have to bleed the system after? If you did, how?
How did you get to the pin on the high pressure hose? The AC is in the way on my 2005 V6 and I can't reach it?
Did you ever figure it out? I am stumped here, as well.
Move the ac dryer

When you bleed it how long did it took and if the car was completely on the ground or jack stand?
Does anyone know if the v6 and the GT use compatible pieces? (V6 is cheaper so I’m wondering if they’re the same thing or not)
Clutch master cylinder yes, its same
Another pieces idk
Hey man im trying to avoid this issue. Did you attach your new metal bushing you bought to the new master cylinder you installed? Have you had any more issues with it snapping the rod?

When u took replaced the plastic piece to a metal version of it, did u have to take out the whole assembly?
No that's what I need
Where did you order the master from? Don't wanna. waste money on a junk one
