Hey, Lead - ! You might have no idea how much this video helps me with my own lighting challenge every heating season. THANK YOU!!! I don't mean a separate Buddy system. When I bought this place to retire almost 20 years ago, it had the first model Lennox natural gas furnace ever made; quite the newfangled thing over a hundred years ago. Blamed thing was on the verge of exploding though. So bc $ was so tight, I went with propane which meant 3 different wall mounted ventless heaters which are state of the art for today. Super efficient and quite safe since they have the auto shutoff for low oxygen.
Anyway, since I had to nurse a very limited supply of propane all year, I've always cut off the pilot light as early in the spring as possible. So there's the only rub - those suckers are hard as the dickens to light. Each one would take me - you guessed it - about 10-15 minutes of agonizing stress until finally, bingo! it would light. *Stop laughing!* Well, maybe you're entitled to a few chuckles since I'd bet your bottom dollar you've saved me tons of future misery. Nothing I ever read or watched before gave me the slightest hint. Suddenly I no longer dread that annual chore, although I'll probably STILL turn the pilots off to save that spoonful of fuel when warm weather returns.

You hit the nail on the head! Living in the RV has definitely taught us to FIND PATIENCE 😂 We have learned the hard way that we just need to walk away from things then come back later. Every single day off grid is a learning experience but the knowledge we have gained is priceless🙏🏽 Eco just bought a heater similar to that so this video was right on time! Thanks for following up on this! ✌🏾

Y’all have done so much and try to share what folks should be watching out for but I see folk just don’t get how rough this game is. That off grid life ain’t NO JOKE! Even there done that😂

That’s a great point Lead. It also underscores the need to practice our preps while times are good. Folks may have low patience when they’re hungry or their kids are cold or whatever. Thanks for once again being a trailblazer in showing us what to do and what not to do. Some of us truly appreciate you and your time! May God continue to bless you and your family! 😊

Great video. I found it hard to see the little arrow mark on the knobs so I dabbed a contrast color paint in the arrow indentation. Now way easier to see where the knob is setting on. Thanks.

Great update Lead. The live was great too as it shows that everything doesn't always work as we plan and we need to practice our preps. It also shows how and why redundancies in our preps should be considered.

I couldn’t reply yesterday but I was gonna say that main knob has to be on a certain setting. Also have you tried just turning the knob to ACC and then lighting the burner? Without turning the main pilot on.

Hey leadfarmer, I'm interested in purchasing a Mr. Buddy heater or a little buddy heater. Not sure what is best to purchase. I don't have a huge space to heat. The reason why I ask is because I live in New England and they are talking about blackouts in all New England states this winter.

We bought the Little buddy for camping. It was awesome for a small space. I believe it was a 4 person tent. But anything beyond that, I would recommend the upgrade. It’s only 10.00 more. The little buddy is travel friendly. As it uses the small propane tanks. I love ours. But I would opt for the larger Version. If I wanted to heat my bedroom.
