I'm 24 lived in Tampa Bay area Florida all my life. You can definitely find places that are very quiet and away from all the tourists. Orlando and the popular beaches will be packed. With that said there are still little pieces of paradise you can have all to yourself :)

I love watching your channel!! I live in Florida, and if it is as bad as they are making it out to be, then I would have moved away years ago. They build buildings/houses with the environment and hurricanes in mind. The middle of the state is beautiful and remote with lots of farms and recreational areas. Take this video as somebody's beef with the politics or is jealous because their state is not as great as this one. Insurance is high, but it is being worked on. All of the major carriers are still here, and they are not looking to leave. This video is about 50% true!! Thanks again for producing great videos!!

I don't live in Florida, I live in Alabama, and as far as home insurance goes, it depends on what type of coverage you're paying for.
Last year, we had a severe storm with very damaging winds. Two of my cousins had trees to fall onto their houses. They live approximately 10 miles from each other, and the winds hit our city really hard.
One cousin had a fairly large part of a tree crash through the dining room ceiling, and limbs fell onto her car and her husband's truck. I don't know about their insurance coverage, but the house was repaired, and so were the vehicles that mostly had scratches and minor dents.
The other cousin and her husband had much worse damage done to their house. Two really tall trees fell onto nearly half of the house, destroying her two daughters' bedrooms, the main bathroom on that hall. It was crushed down to about halfway the height of the house. They were safe in the den.
Their insurance coverage was really good. It took nearly five weeks to rebuild that section, but it may have been quicker if rainy days hadn't slowed them down.
As repairs went on, the insurance covered their stay in a hotel with adjoining rooms, so the girls could have their own. New furniture and everything was covered by the insurance, too. I don't know how much they pay for that coverage, but I imagine it's not just a few shiny pennies.
It'll be time to pay my multiple insurances next week. I wish I could put that same amount into the bank every month. 🫤

Orlando is fast becoming a foodie Mecca. You can find all sorts of food here. Slovak restaurants aren’t really around yet though Russian restaurants are around. We do have British places although they take a more American approach by actually seasoning things. Just watch Mike Chen as he does food reviews as he was in Orlando this year trying new street food and restaurants around. He actually has a few Orlando videos some at Disney others around Orlando itself.

I lived in Florida for 31 years until I retired in 2023. I moved from Florida to retire to the Ozarks. Much simpler life. I love it here too! Florida beaches are just BEAUTIFUL, especially Panhandle Beaches. Florida is a vacation all it's own. There is so much there to see and do. Don't get me wrong, I love Florida. I worked in the utility industry for 31 years, clean after Hurricanes is a STRESSFULL JOB! The main thing that made me what to leave Florida was the Hurricanes, and Insurance on everything. I paid 3000 dollars in Taxes on my home in Ft. Myers area and 3000 dollars on my yearly insurance. The last year I was there. That was for a 1800 square ft. home built in 2019 with hurricane code Roof, Doors, and Windows. On 1 acre. I bought a new home in the Ozarks 1264 sqft on 1/4 acre 3 bedroom 2 full baths and 2 car garage. for 170K. Perfect for me to take care of. I paid 500 dollars for taxes for the year and 300 dollars for my truck. Taxes are weird for me here, but. The KICKER was my insurance! 1800 dollars on this house! My truck insurance went from 130 a month to 55 dollars a month.😁 I guess because Arkansas has so many Tornados. Well you guys be safe and well! If you guys want any info on Florida let me know, in your videos.

Florida is also infamous for the shear number of massive sinkholes that plague the state. Massive sinkholes have appeared directly under houses. In one well known incident a man was swallowed while sleeping in his bed never to be seen again after a massive sinkhole apoeard underneath the house he was living in with his brother. The mans brother rushed to his aid after hearing him screaming but it was too late for him to be able to save his brother. He could hear him pleading for help and then he was gone. Terrifying. How people still fall asleep in their beds in Florida after that. I can't imagine. And that was not an isolated incident. Many people have had to abandon their homes in Florida because massive sinkholes have appeared next to or directly underneath their homes. So it's very risky to buy property in Florida because you just never know where the next massive sinkhole is going to appear. And once it does appear you can't even sell your property after one appears anywhere near your house. . You just have to eat the financial loss and walk away.
The going theory is that much of the properties in Florida were once swamplands and greedy real estate investors bought and drained the water from the swampland, planted grass and sold the divided lots to unsuspecting home and property buyers.
Another theory is that Floridians have pumped their aquifers so low that it's left a honeycomb of empty caverns that were once filled with water and after the water is removed eventually the caverns collapse and become massive sinkholes. Not a great place to invest in real estate in my humble opinion.

That's your opinion, but not everyone's opinion. Florida is a great State to live in, they have a Governor who makes sure you maintain all you God given Freedoms. He doesn't fall into the Federal Government Beauracy like other States and enacts State Laws to protect his people from the BS. This film is on the opposite side, of those opinions and take it with a grain of salt. If you have an opportunity to live in Florida, if you can handle the heat and humidity you will LOVE it. Northern Florida is a lot more laid back, and not nearly as populated as Orlando and below. You get more of a taste of "old" Florida in the Northern part of the State. It's beautiful country, lot's of land spread out without neighbors on top of you. There are lakes and huge springs that are crystal clear you can take you family to to swim and hang out for the day. Also, Ocala, FL is known as "The Horse Capital of the World", there are beautiful 500 acre horse farms there. Raising every type of expensive horse, Stud Horses, to breeding, raising and training Horses for the Kentucky Derby. Many horses you see enter in the Derby, were either born, or trained in Ocala Florida!! Absolutely stunning to travel thru all the different Horse Farms. They keep them and the horses immaculate. Looks like a place out of a magazine.

I live in Hernando County. I live in the West and Central part of the state. We are out growing the state. This state is being destroyed by constant construction. We are destroying the eco system day by day with the building of homes, roads, and our ever expanding Interstates. Our state is no longer affordable to live in. Retired seniors who are on fixed incomes can not afford health insurance, car insurance, and sometimes even food. Our wages aren't even comparable to the cost of living here.
The theme parks have gotten so expensive that most living here can't afford to go them. Between the people who live here and the tourist, it is overloading our highways. As for our weather. I would suggest not coming here from June til probably the end of October. Our Summers can and have been known to drag into the beginning of November. We sometimes don't see a true winter til around January or February. The humidity and dew points get pretty high in the summer and can get even higher after our thirty minutes of rain.
AND!! You hafta wear sunscreen. Five or ten minutes in the sun, you will be burnt.
Even if it is overcast, wear sunscreen.
Wear a hat and cover your head. Sunburns are serious business. If you go to the beach, go out in the early morning and leave around ten or eleven and go back out in the early evening. That way, you are not out there at the suns highest point of the day. And that goes for being in the pool as well. The water can and will act as a magnifying glass, so be careful. Drink plenty of water.

Here in my part of Texas it is 103 with a heat index of 109 Which means it is 103 but feels lie it is 109 . For you that would be 39,4c but feels like 42.7c .. SO basically just an early Summer afternoon .. not gotten to the hot part of Summer yet . During the hot part we can hit 111(43.8c)-113(45c) easily by noon and only cool down to around 87(30.5) - 90(32.2) at night not counting the heat index. The heat index is based on the humidity .. the higher the humidity the higher the heat index . But snce your clomate s much cooler than ours is I'm sure your hot temps feel just as miserable to you as ours does to us .. since we are used to hotter temps people will say I wish we had your temps , but if they lived there and got used to your milder temps they too would be miserable when it gets warmer the same as y'all do . Just like to the Esimos our Winters are like warm Spring days to them ..

When the Thwaites Glacier breaks away from Antarctica, the rising ocean won't be the key problem. It is the size of Florida. It consists entirely of fresh water. When the ice melts, the salinity in the Southern Ocean will alter the salinity, which in due course, will doom all of Europe. As it melts, Thwaites could cause ocean levels to rise as much as 2 feet. But the glacier is also a natural dam to other ice in West Antarctica. If that ice is released into the oceans, levels could rise 10 feet, researchers estimate. Altering the salinity will shut down the world's heat exchange called the thermohaline circulation. It's a system of currents that move water around the world, from the northern oceans to the southern oceans and back again. The conveyor belt is driven by a combination of wind-driven currents on the surface and thermohaline currents in the deep ocean. Thermohaline currents are caused by the difference in temperature (thermo) and salinity (haline) of the water. ( Florida will not be the sole casualty.) Temperatures across Europe will plummet.

The fishing it literally doesn’t matter as long as you put a lure or bait the fish want it. In Florida you can play the what is on the line game and we also have the water challenge where you can fish salt, fresh, and brackish all in the same day. You honestly don’t know what will be on your line as you can fish catfish yet find a mahi on the line or you can fish for bass yet find snakehead on the line. Florida is literally ripe with all sorts of fish that found their way here. Just we have a rule that lionfish must automatically be killed as they are invasive and eat every other fish so by law they are kill on the spot.

I am originally from NY and I moved to South Florida in 2019. I never thought I would ever live here because the Summer heat is so brutal. But after 5 years, I will never move again. I love the freedom the state has and its focus on law and order here. The state doesn't brother people with over regulation and crazy requirements like NY and many other states. I can live as I want and as long as I do not bother other people, the state leaves me alone.
I love the state's crazy weather. It rains almost daily for 20 minutes during the Summer and I love the severe thunderstorms as well. We are the hurricane capital of the US and maybe the world. But I know how to handle hurricanes because I have lived through about 12 in my life and 2 here in Florida. Tornado warnings happen about twice a year where I live, but I know what to do and not do. For criminals, this state is horrible. We do not play with criminals here. Prison time is something real here. We also have the death penalty as well and we rank number 2 in the nation after Texas for executing savage criminals.
The only part of the state that I would never reside is near Miami due to the NY style prices and big city craziness.
I know that Jono likes Texas and I find Texas quite similar to Florida in many ways with its mindset and operation. Both states believe in limited government and personal responsibility.

I spent 3 months vacationing in Florida n almost everyday I would see an Alligator nearby. On the gulf course you would see them sunbathing in the sand traps. They move fast so can catch their prey fast. • @ScottyM1959

First off, don't freak out. This isn't happening in the next 100 years, so it's safe to come to Florida. Everywhere you go there are going to be negatives, starting with the weather. Here it's hurricanes and in Arizona and the more arid parts of the country it's sand storms and thunderstorms. In California it's fires, mud slides and earthquakes. So you see, there are conditions everywhere but people still live there no problem.
Here in Florida, there's no state income tax, so you just have federal income taxes. Oh don't look for mountains here, we're a prettier flat state with lots of hunting and fishing saltwater and freshwater to enjoy amongst lots of other things.

  •  4 дні тому

I don't know who made that video, but they don't know what the hell they're talking about. I live in central Florida, about 16 miles west of Disney. I frequently travel down to the keys and go diving for lobster. The reefs are doing just fine. The maker of that video said people move here because of low state taxes? Shows how much they know, there is NO state tax in Florida at all. As for climate change, I just laugh at that garbage. When I was in grammar school, scientists said we were going to have a 2nd ice age. Never happened. Then they said Acid rain was going to kill everyone by contaminating the water supplies. Never happened. Then it was the ozone layer was going to be destroyed because of aerosol cans. Never happened. Do you see a pattern anywhere??? Florida is a great state and a fantastic place to live.

    • @jdanon203
      @jdanon203 4 дні тому

There's more to state taxes than just income tax. I'm guessing when you go shopping you're paying sales tax. When you drive you pay tolls on some roads, another form of state taxes. When you buy gas you pay some portion in state gas tax. You pay taxes on your property. You pay ridiculous fees for basic stuff like a vehicle registration, again another form of state taxes. There's the massive hotel tax that the state requires hotels to charge. I could go on. There are shit tons of taxes in Florida even if they go by other names.
