Hey, enjoy the videos, was just thinking, maybe you could stamp your channel name in the video section of the car running on the copart website, where you show the vehicle running, and get a little more advertisement out for your channel! hope it helps.

The (High) book value on that explorer is $2,837 in very good condition. Whoever considers purchasing at that price should consider that copart will charge approx $750 in purchasing fees plus shipping. You will also have to have the awd transfer case serviced/rebuilt. Thats going to cost around $1000 at a reputable automotive shop. Im a ASE certified mechanic with 25 yrs experience. My advice is to Bid accordingly, to anyone seriously interested in this truck. Not trying to throw shade at you randy. Just want people to get a fair deal

Fair warning to any potential buyers. The viscous coupler is bad on this truck, and that requires a rebuild or replacement of the AWD transfer case.
There are easy swaps you can do for an actual 4x4 system out of different explorers.

It’s 26 years old ,yea you got it running but it needs a lot of maintenance to make it trust worthy . Yea that ani freeze, transmission fluid ,motor oil , brake fluid, probably at least pads , plugs ,injectors cleaned , new tires ,alignment.shocks , tie, rods, wheel, bearings, hoses, belts, shocks,CVT shafts and seals and boots on front end and a new battery. It all adds up to big money ,have you priced auto shop work lately ? $ 💵💸💵💸 plus shipping cost from there to your location another $1,000-1,500 and don’t forget auction fees for those not familiar with auctions, the good deal gets expensive !! I like your videos but at the end of the day you’re still a car dealer .lol You’ll be into it for well over $12,000 for a book valuation of $1,500 . It has sat for over 6 years things dry rot and finding some of the parts to fix them is going to be a nightmare. Gas mileage on that model all wheel drive with a V8 is 12-17 a gallon.

Wow, you got a great Explorer at a fantastic price!!! I would review the owners manual to check on the drive system. I'm pretty sure it's an all wheel drive system. Check the front CV shafts to see if they're fully seated, maybe that's what caused the shudder/wobble? I would fill the tank and get a bottle of techron high mileage fuel treatment. The Techron will clean the injectors and return a normal spray pattern. It will also clean the carbon off the intake valves.

Randy, I'm the guy that sent you the Crown Vic hubcaps. I've owned almost a dozen of these 2nd gen Explorers.
I now know you're selling it, but this is for all the know it alls.
    1. The trailer wiring plugs into the bottom of the tail light from the outside. No cutting wires.
    2. The gray plastic piece is for around the door handle on the inside (I think I saw the drivers door missing it?).
    3. The black plastic piece in the center console is not factory. Maybe part of the phone setup?
    4. The hole in the center bezel is for the lighter. The AWD 5.0 didn't have a switch. More than likely, the plastic edge broke out and the lighter doesn't stay in the bezel anymore.
    5. The big, fat key is a PATS key. PATS is the theft deterrent system Ford had back then. The smaller key (or normal key cut) will unlock the door though.
    6. XLT is mid-range. XL (or later XLS) was base, XLT is next, Eddie Bauer is next with Limited being the top of the line.
    7. You are seeing "4 wheel high" icon on the cluster. They only made one cluster for all Explorers. Only certain lights were not hooked up if your truck wasn't optioned for it. The manuals even had a block out panel in the cluster where the PRND21 is on automatics.
    8. The center bezel has two screws going upwards from where the climate control is. I've had to take my clusters out to change the back lighting bulbs.
    9. You can confirm the red label is the door code by looking at the electric box in the jack storage cubby. It would be located towards the front of where the trailer wiring box was (not convenient, but if you took the time, you could find out what the code was).
    10. These are great tow vehicles, but MWM needs a heavier hauler. I've towed Explorers with Explorers. You can do it, but it's not advisable. They are only supposed to tow 3,500 lbs or less.
I'm glad you're on the mend. I wish I could afford this one. A rare find indeed.
    Peace!

Trsffic lights are NOT suggestions. We just don't hit the brakes at yellow lights. Ask anyone that's been t-boned by a red light runner. I was almost killed by one but fortunately I saw the truck at the last second. He was going 60 in a stolen truck Central Ave at Sligh Ave Tampa

"Auto test drive resell" is what the channel should be called. Buying cars for a 5 minute test drive and a video for 20K views.

I see the explorer is sold already. Must have been snagged up by a dealer. I never even saw it come available on Co-Part. How much did it go for?

Wish you had not put a buy it now price on it. It sold just as I logged in. If you had let bidding as normal it would have gone for much more. Well in the end you sold it for way to little. I have been looking for one since I totaled my 2000 Explorer so I am keenly aware of pricing. Of the clean low mile V8 Explorers of this body style I have come across prices ranged from $10K to $22K for an Eddie Bauer from California. Yours I would guess would be 12K to 15K range. The buyer should have no trouble flipping it for a good profit.

I had a 2001 xlt which was the last year for this body style, it was a 4.0, cloth seats, and selectable 4x4. It tried to kill me tho. The spark plug launched out of the block and was inches from my face. I've never had a ford since.

    that everything works on it

I love this Explorer as I’ve had a couple in the past. I’d love to buy it but my wife just gave birth to our daughter a few months ago so money isn’t quite what it used to be. Someone is going to get a great vehicle that’s for sure. I wish I had never gotten rid of mine.
