From breaking the all-time crowd-funding record to the decision to be totally free forever to having our own app to being one of the only productions in the country to film in early Covid to now being the only TV series in the country to receive a SAG waiver...God does new things.
It's crazy that I don't care about Hollywood being on strike, but I'm so disappointed in The Chosen having to be stopped in portraying God's work. Grateful they can continue. God's impossible math!!

Wait they did? Were they paid actors or volunteers? If paid to be honest that kind of sounds a bit wasteful, people donate to the Chosen to keep it running. You don't need AI to do a crowd scene without 5000 extras, they've been doing it without AI for decades. You just film the same, smaller group of extras several times with a costume change each time and put it all together in post-production.
This is great news! God has had His hand in the making of The Chosen from the beginning, so we know that He will continue to be behind it, including all the logistics for production and compensation for these great actors who deserve it so much!

(For example, Rings of Power is affected, even though they're shooting outside the US, because it is a SAG-AFTRA production, even while many of the actors are actually in the UK's Equity union. If it were an Equity property, it could continue filming (though the writer's thing IS affecting non-US productions).) But there will most certainly be fewer shows coming out early next year, so it will make The Chosen more visible, for sure. ^_^

Is it when it 90% resembles him? 50%? And who owns that image? This stuff has already been happening for years, but AI makes it a lot more complicated

It is such an unusual human take on Jesus because it shows him in such a different light than “Jesus of Nazareth” or “Passion of the Christ”.
