How to create a 5x7 greeting card outline in Procreate!

MadebyMoonlite I’m so glad this helped you! I felt the same way when I figured it out. Oh, duh! 🤦🏻♀️ But wasn’t sure if it would actually work. I couldn’t find tips for this anywhere! Just make sure to avoid my blunder of mixing up the paper sizes 🙈.

Ooh I’ll try this for custom birthday cards for family! What format do you export the card as when you print and what printer paper do you prefer?
Brittani H i export it as a JPEG and I actually don’t have a printer paper that I prefer. I just printed it on regular printer paper to make sure the dimensions were all correct. I just wanted other people to know how to make a guide, since procreate doesn’t have one.

do you draw directly on it after you made the marks? or is the 5x7 you inserted going to be the photo/greeting on the card?
If I am understanding you correctly, it wouldn’t matter either way because you’ll be printing it with the guides. They will show you where to cut when you print. You’ll hide that center line though before you print. For the sake of ease, you’ll want to work in a separate layer so that it’s easier to edit.

The right side will be for your drawing. The left side will be for your name, or whatever you want on the back of the card.

I just used regular printer paper to show that it prints correctly. I would assume you could use photo paper. This tutorial is mostly about how to make the canvas.
Thank you this was so helpful I made my first card but I guess I should have waited for the ink to dry longer than 3 hrs.... Lesson learn...

No, I do not, but it's basically the same way as the 5X7. Just create a 4X6 inch canvas and import it into your paper size canvas.
Feel like I’m going crazy. I have the 11X8.5 then I insert my 10x7 and it keeps filling all the way to the sides?? Why???? It should automatically have the inch on the sides like yours did. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Interesting. THe size is not fit. 0.5 inch is bigger and I did twice follow your video but still got same result. I don't know what is the problems.. so upset. If you show how to print would be better.
