For those that collect them, I do hope that they do a second boxed set of 4-6 in this format. I don't see them doing a 1-6 hardcover set (too large, and too expensive) but rather a SECOND boxed set.
I'm only missing children of Dune for the Deluxe edition. But I paid 15 euro for Dune, 25 for Messiah .. the lowest price I can find children for is like 50.. which I kinda feel is far too much considered I paid less for dune and messiah combined.
Okay, let's talk. How many copies of the original Frank Herbert 6 books do you have? I get teased that I collect DUNE books like serial killers collect Catcher in the Rye.
Anyone have any information about the fourth book? I got these deluxe books a bit ago, and I'm RACING through the first one (First time read). I've hear that the fourth book can be quite important for these three, so I really want that book as well. I don't really want to buy a random god of emperor book if it's coming for deluxe soon
Just ordered Messiah and Children of these editions myself to go with the first one on my shelf. Unnecessary, when I got other copies of these books? Probably. Do I care? No! ;-)
I'm waiting for god emperor before i buy any of those editions. I've read every dune bookput there, but personally dune, dune messiah, children of dune and god emperor of dune are the best and really the only ones i re read. I'd probably enjoy heretics and chapterhouse more had Frank finished the 7th book and tied the story up, but without it, those 2 books fall extremely flat.
I think I read them all back in the day, but I started to lose interest. I'm wondering if modern fans believe that the quality of the storylines and the execution of the narrative was consistent throughout the book series, because I did not. Please give your opinion.
Those are nice. I purchased my first folio society book last year, Dune (not the limited edition) the same one you have and I absolutely love it. Going to start collecting the ASOIAF ones soon
Sir you are awesome. I have read fantasy but not as much as I have with sci fi. So I wasn't sure where to truly start. Thank you for posting that fantasy video you did. Btw I finally have become a published author myself.
I have the first book. Awesome work of designers and absolutely owful durability. No sewn binding. Despite the amazing design, materials of the book cover is even worse then on regular hardcover books. The quality of paper is normal, i'm sure it is acid free. Actually, the most beautiful thing in this book is the dust jacket. It have prints on both sides and it is very thik. Make sure yyou have some Brodart cover, if u want to keep it alive for many years. Actully, there is only one better edition of this book, from Folio Society. But they have only the first book of this cicle. So. If you want to have this beatiful book series, and used to have books made to last, be ready to rebind them. The book cover will die pretty fast, and the book will start to lose pages while reading in few years, i think. Donno how they managed to make a non-sewn binding for that price, i still cant believe it. And sry for bad english, i'm from Ukraine, still learning :)
I am still on the fence about those myself. I have the barnes and noble deluxe for the first dune, which is one of my favorite books ever. But I dont know if I liked 2 and 3 enough. Messiah probably. But children is when things get weird.
Tomorrow is my Birthday and my husband got them for me on Tuesday. I am so thrilled, I never read Dune. Stuck in Middle-Earth at the moment and loving it.
@@moisture4334 maybe. At this moment I can't see couse them are closed in a box. I moved from my old house to a new one but at soon I will able to say you. Edit: let's check on internet.
Don't talk to me about that second book! I loved Dune so much that as soon as I finished, I read it again. That NEVER happens! Then I read Dune Messiah and wanted to throw the freaking book across the room. The only reason I did not was because it was a library book and I didn't want to damage it.
I never actually read Dune Messiah. I went straight from Dune to Children of Dune. I don't know why, might be because I had to get them from the library when I was a teenager in the '90s. 😋
@@sharksbean people say messiah is the weakest book in the series, but I disagree. I thought it was excellent, and the ending floored me. You're going to love it.
@@mikesbookreviews yeah I hate when they do this because let’s say they don’t they will stick out like a sore thumb against any other editons. Publishers are cruel putting out stuff like this to prey upon people's addiction lmao

I need those deluxe editions of 2 & 3 in my life! 😍
U know whereto get these now that book depository has closed?

Wow!!! I really want this edition.
It's perfect
I absolutely love those. I bought the newest set of mass market paperbacks to read I've only read the first two so far. Fascinating books.
I have the same collection. Beautiful aesthetic for a wonderful series. Sits next to my LOTR illustrated deluxe series. Glorious ❤️👍🏻
My father has the deluxe edition of just the first one, but I am satisfied with having the whole trilogy.
We Need this Finaly, 😮 that Box is Gorgeously Design Can't wait for the rest of Dune Saga Deluxe Editions Thanks Mike for the Overview 📚
Been looking at these and will probably buy, can’t wait to see the rest when they drop
Please stopppp. My bank account can’t handle this rn. 😭😭😭
Uptil what page does the second movie roughly adapt?

I just picked up these too! They’re beautiful books
Also it’s better to read caiaphus Cain omnibus everyonce in a while
Mike do you think they will relase books 4-6 in deluxe i have the first three
Mike you are hooked on the spice 🙂
I already have all three deluxe editions. To get that boxed set or not - that is the problem.
Why do you show these things to me? Do you hate my wallet?
Warhammer 40k has a similar dune like planet read caiaphus Caín it’s for beginners
You addiction can be seen in your blue eyes. 😂😊
Now I'm going to have to buy that and have two copies of the first book.😂
My problem too hahahaha

So they are doing the other three atleast?
I wish there was a god emperor one
Damn that looks good, though.

Your enthusiasm is so addictive!! Love it when people get excited over books!!
BRO why is it 180 cad
Mine are arriving tomorrow!! I’m excited :)
What’s your favourite book from the series?
Was the "slip sleeve being useless" comment for God Emperor a reference to how Leto II is constantly talking about his missing penis? 😂
Dear god those are gorgeous I need it.
I believe they're also printed in Italy, funny enough. Idk why that mattered to me but oh well
I think they'll release a new box set with God Emperor, Heretics and Chapterhouse so we'll be good with the current slipcase. At least I hope so, lol
Wow.
Does anyone know if they will do the same for books 4-6? Please let me know! 🙏🏼
God only knows but I kind of hope so

The story truely begins with God Emperor of Dune.
So glad I’m not the only one who keeps buying new editions.
I read the original Dune series a couple month ago. My favorite books are Dune and God Empororer of Dune. Great series.
I got this exact set for Christmas this year! This video doesn't quite do this set justice.

I'm reading Dune, would love for you to cover the sequels at some point.
How many times have you watched the newer dune movie? I’m on my fourth rewatch. Will watch again after I finish the first book 🎉
Seen these at Barnes & Noble they running for about $70
I just read dune recently its the latest book I completed. Looking foward to read the rest of the series.
Is there art inside a slipcase?
Yes, There is art all around the covers, even engravings of the books themselves

i pre order it and it get lost NICE

I just wish they released all six books at once

I got ALL books of Dune saga. 7 books 😅
What do you mean by this? Frank Herbert only made 6 dune book, unless you got one of the books made by Brian Herbert
