WE HAVE DONE IT WE HAVE BROKEN 1000 VOTES!!! This is (I believe) that this is the only other tournament besides Third World Tournament (and KFAD obviously) to break the 1000 vote milestone! This is amazing! And it shows how good these two are. Ruler has a very distinct and unique vibe he brings, Tally Hall and other projects along with royalty, time and claymation (my favorite of his sources) is a very interesting combination of sources that just work. While Ace simply is busted, it’s crazy that Ace’s weakest source is arguably Turner Broadcasting, which is still one of the strongest sources among the competition, but this dude gets ALL of Alt-rock AND Britpop, absolutely busted. These two are really strong competitors and absolutely deserve to be the first match to break the 1000 threshold. I have been busy, so I haven’t been able to say much in these matches, but I wanted to say something for this one because these two are some of my favorites. Voted Ace, he’s just too good, but I want Ruler to go further and not lose immediately after dropping. Even if Ace loses I want either of these two to go far, they both are too good to 1-2.

It's CRAZY to see Ace manage to defeat two of Megamix's biggest titans back to back in his matches. That MIGHT confirms he's gonna sweep that left bracket, with the only contestant that might give him a good run is probably whoever won Hot Ones vs Painful Dreamers

I thought for sure RoE had this in the bag and that Ace would have to fight Neil, which would've meant that I had to see one of my top 2 kill the other, but I am so happy that Ace managed to pull through against another titan of an opponent! pre-results: While I do believe that roe getting a lot of views and a lot of new fans introduced into megamix i personally also feel like those fans also overlap with the ones who like ace and most of the time don't even vote and more or less just stumble on to a roe upload and leave afterwards. Also to be honest roe really only get an algorithm boost cause of the dare admitted track size of tally hall making it so the search of say labyrinth could make it so you would get a roe video after a minute of scrolling while searching something like plastic beach you will probably get a million videos before you get a ace video. Anyways really hoping for the ace win and even sweep.

I don't normally do these prediction things but this match is so important to me i felt like i needed to here. First, some backstory: I found this tournament through the Labyrinth video being recommended to me on UA-cam, meaning I've only been actively watching mashup week since about when r1m5 ended. Then, 1999 dropped that next like Tuesday or something and it blew me away. honestly that's still one of my favorite mashups ever. In the 2 years since, this project has introduced me to so much new music it's actually so incredible. Just to name a few, Gangreen Skans introduced me to Klaxons, which I still listen to today, and I had a brief IDKhow and synthwave phase after lr1m8 because of rcg. These aren't like all the examples but like you get what I mean. This tournament has been something I've looked forward to for a while and has had a huge impact on my music taste. The community is so fun and the mashup week team puts so much effort into every little detail and it creates something so special. these two characters in particular hold a special place in my heart. Now I have to choose one.
I've said before that if you asked me two years ago, I would have said RoE. I was a massive tally hall fan back then. However, since then, I've discovered so much more music and I can confidently say I'm team Ace now. He has such a good source list it's actually insane and alt rock is just such a good genre overall. I will understand if he loses tho. Good luck RoE voters, and thank you random strangers on the internet for listening to me ramble about my life.

But seriously, this fight was a nail biter. Both Ruler and Ace are my #1 and #3 respectively and with the amount of OOMPH put into each of them, this was not easy. I really love both of these, and it hurts to know that one'll go to loser's. That being said... Ace is more versatile, CN is very close to my heart, alt rock is a great source, and if the loser of this round is gonna go up against Neil, then I'd rather it be Ruler.
