2:32 Fun Fact: This shit is actually real. It wasn't even invented during the Cold War but much earlier, during the times of the Great War (alternatively, the "war to end all wars" War). Before you ask, yes, it's the French. Somebody thought it'd be a great idea or just downright hilarious to strap an artillery cannon to the front of a military moped. Surprisingly it *_ACTUALLY_* works... somewhat. You don't actually shoot it while driving (I know, disappointing) since doing so would send a recoiling blowback so intense you'll careen off the dirt road and fall into a comically deep ravine like a Looney tunes character. Instead, it's supposed use is basically just a more mobile artillery cannon which you have to fire while stationary. I just find it funny such an outdated and mostly forgotten piece of military history (accidentally) found it's way into a beautifully animated Cold War OC anime opening out of all things
The accuracy of the historical facts, their references, the direction, the 10/10 artwork, the perfect combination of frames and making the thingy fluid and the kick-ass vibes... Tell me are u guys going to make this thing real if u get a funding partner?

Due to it being in space, if the gun was just a giant revolver it wouldn't work cuz there's no oxygen to engine the powder. And the force of it shooting would launch the shuttle in the opposite direction, likely absolutely wrecking it in the process.
@@krum1703 powder contains both fuel and oxydizer, in fact all explosives are self contained chemical reactions, that's why weapons and charges can work in vacuum, underwater, etc... you'd be right about launching the vehicle in the opposite direction but I don't know about wrecking it, if the vehicle weighs tons and the projectile "just" kilograms, it'll just change its orbit depending on how much energy is behind exchanged here, unless it works like a carl gustav or a mass driver, in which case there's no change on the vehicle at launch
@@krum1703 Not quite right, gunpowder has an oxidizing agent in it that provides the oxygen so the gun can still fire. Now the recoil on the other hand, it would depend on the engines and the caliber of the gun itself.

They're both ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE at their jobs. I love them. Also, really good work on the firearms, the M14, the star decal on the Soviet's Makarov, the use of the Hush Puppy instead of a 1911 like I mighta expected, they're very solid. I also like the whole back-and-forth thing, and the slow countdown of the DEFCON system as the situation escalates. Not sure why the East German police were using PPShes and old Great War era Artillery Lugers but the animating of their action cycling was pretty great. Also, the Hammer-And-Sickle batsignal made me die laughing. 10/10, will probably watch again in the future.

This was REALLY WELL MADE! Dang, dude! If it didn't sound like it'd kick your butt six ways to Sunday I'd kill to watch it as a show! Feels like a fun premise, and it goes off on its own lil alt history which I think is cool. Loved the Mecha references 🥺 I'm gonna be honest: lost it and cackled at Eagle McEagle-Face
I mean the soviets wouldn't likely use mi8s for ground convoy escort but yeah an mi8 in most configurations tends to be carrying some form of cargo that could be extremely important based on supply doctrine of the time. So they would have been high priority targets for the mujahideen who would likely be using a mixture of early Soviet and American manpads which the mi8 isn't good at defending against.
Are you serious? Fire the helicopter on plain terrain is 100% accurate? This person would be killed instantlty, when pilots see the horserider with stinger. Helicopters have defense against the rockets. So I don't believe in it. It would be real, if partisan was on a mountain, behind the rock or something. Not on a WHITE horse, on a plain.
Ok the fact it accurately gets the nitrogen cooling cell for the stinger and that the cytroen C3 had hydromatic suspensions which can make it drivable even with only 3 wheels is god damn amazing Edit: just noticed that in the end she crashed in an Avrocar VZ-9AV flying saucer. Amazing
It’s cool when authors use the topic of politics or history for creative purposes, without giving preference to one or another ideology or view of events, but skillfully playing with images and symbols, leading to an interesting moral. The contrasts are placed so subtly that you see not a confrontation between two enemies, but a rivalry between two friends, almost cooperation in space exploration. It turned out to be a crazy game of associations - a continuation of the "Cold War" after the evacuation from the cooled Earth to the cold Moon in cold space. It's literally an alternative Star Wars prehistory. P.S. I translated it into Google and sent all complaints to their headquarters. Lol, I just finished a game yesterday with similar post-irony (Kujlevka)
This short is just too cool! I really hope this blows and get the same treetment as Hazbin Hotel, it would be very lovely to see a series like this. And the style is just the cherry on top, really really god job!!
using the old film countdown as defcon stages is such a cool detail, that and the east german cops using drum mag lugers (why does everyone forget those)
That Scooter armed with a Recoiless Gun/Cannon will never not remind me of France's attempt at the US M59 Scorpion, aka trying to give Paradropped Special Forces some form of Self Propelled AT firepower. That abomination is a MEME itself.... And here comes the Warsaw pact side making a "Legally" distinct take on that thing. What next? Someone find new declassified Dokumints about a BICYCLE armed with two RPG-7s? A la the Panzerfaust armed Bike of WW2?
it reminds me of the world tension counter in TNO which unlike in vanilla hoi4 where it counts from 0% to 100% world tension in TNO it counts from defcon 5 to 1
While I might not love your style as much as others I've seen, your compositions are absolutely amazing! The flow of the animations were very smooth, and each frame looked great! Looking forward to more stuff from you.
This the type of anime to have 5 seasons, one for each defcon. With each one getting more violent and louder than the last. With each season getting closer and closer to an action film rather than a spy movie
i love how the scene transitions make it go from DEFCON 5 to DEFCON 1 to just show how serious they are in this, a beautiful aspect not many even remember
Oh yeah? Allow me to tell you about the times the CIA wanted to drop large size american condoms renamed as medium size to demoralize the soviet population. THAT, is lit af
The entire animation but the ending shot felt so warm cozy the designs son point the mc eagle satellite is so on point with america and the small idea I hope these two characters will make it in another video like you eluded to in the description That ending shot of them looking at each other it felt so nice and calm
For those who don’t know: the “DDR Rocket Scooter” is a real vechile (not German tho) and is called the Vespa 150 TAP and was used and made by the French against guerrillas in Algeria, it was a recoiless rocket that could pierce 100mm armor from 7,000 yards away and had to be airdropped, it was very easy to assemble, it had to fully stop moving to be able to fire (so this animation isn’t fact checked for it but oh well) Still a really good animation tbh

Hilarious
The accuracy of the historical facts, their references, the direction, the 10/10 artwork, the perfect combination of frames and making the thingy fluid and the kick-ass vibes... Tell me are u guys going to make this thing real if u get a funding partner?

Due to it being in space, if the gun was just a giant revolver it wouldn't work cuz there's no oxygen to engine the powder. And the force of it shooting would launch the shuttle in the opposite direction, likely absolutely wrecking it in the process.
@@krum1703
Did you know gunpowder and cap don't need oxygen?
So lack of oxygen might reduce performance but still can ignite.

Hey, cut them some slack. These two are best of the best of their respective agencies. That's why they can't kill each other no matter what they try. Also, since they are the best field agents the USA and the USSR have to offer (or all they have), no one is brave enough to fire these two.

I'm gonna be honest: lost it and cackled at Eagle McEagle-Face
The Afghanistan part is 100% accurate, any anonymous Mujahideen member will fact check
As an Afghanistan Mujahideen this post has been fact checked by true Afghan patriot
This is clearly a Homage to Call of Duty Black Ops 2 rather than an real historical
Was on the Soviet side instead of mujahideen, but I can confirm this is 100% accurate
Ok the fact it accurately gets the nitrogen cooling cell for the stinger and that the cytroen C3 had hydromatic suspensions which can make it drivable even with only 3 wheels is god damn amazing
Edit: just noticed that in the end she crashed in an Avrocar VZ-9AV flying saucer. Amazing
No matter how many times I watch this masterpiece, I have to remind myself that if I push myself, I can don the exact same thing.

For those who don’t know: the “DDR Rocket Scooter” is a real vechile (not German tho) and is called the Vespa 150 TAP and was used and made by the French against guerrillas in Algeria, it was a recoiless rocket that could pierce 100mm armor from 7,000 yards away and had to be airdropped, it was very easy to assemble, it had to fully stop moving to be able to fire (so this animation isn’t fact checked for it but oh well)
