  • I'm sure many of you have also experienced this problem where your truck's tire pressure sensors no longer give an accurate reading of your tires' air pressures. This can happen over time but usually when you get new tires on your F150 (especially different size tires and wheels).
    In this video, I will show you how to easily and quickly enter Ford's factory tire pressure sensor reset/training mode and reset your truck's system. Be sure to do this near an air compressor and air pressure gauge because you will have to decrease the tires' air pressure and you will need to fill them back up before driving again. This video was based on a 2017 Ford F150 V6 3.5L Ecoboost 2WD.

    This technology is crazy. There’s so many things that we probably don’t know these trucks can actually do. Someone’s going to figure out one day that if you spit on the front emblem and go back around and smack the back on that the dang truck turns into a BMW or something

      They think they need to appeal to the stupid. No one should tell you when your shoe laces are untied, but mark my word, Nike is working on that shoe sensor so you don't hit your face on the pavement. The only sensor I need is the fuel gage. I don't appreciate "change your oil soon" gage since I don't change my oil every 20,000. It's 6,000 miles, thank you. Engineers think they need to do your thinking for you, then build in crap components that don't last.

    • @dongillette
      @dongillette 8 місяців тому

      LOL!!! You're so right--the owner's manual for my 1973 Chevy pickup told me how to adjust the timing. The manual for the 2019 Ford F-150 tells me not to drink the coolant!!

      @@dongillette Don, I got a 2019 F150 2,7 L truck, and hate the tart stop technology.. It was acting up and I took it to the dealer. They wanted to replace a module attached to the outside of the transmission, at an outrageous price since that component is as large as a cigarette pack, and only two bolts to secure it. I told them I'll fix it myself. So, I found out how to dismantel it, Unde the dash where the hood latch is, and to the right are two wires. I pulled one of them, and to my delight saved over three hundred dolllars, and now my truck drives just like a real man's truck...LOL. That's also why we have to have such a large starter that keeps gong off and on, and an expensive AGM battery at about 200 dollars or more. That's why I'm keeping my mother in law's 2005 Buick LeSabre w/ 91,000 miles, and a wonderful 2004 Cadillac Deville w/ 52,000. I can relate to those cars, since they talk my language.

    I believe this procedure is just for tire rotations so the position is accurate. I don’t think it adjusts the pressure reading. You would have to somehow let it know it was reading high or low.

    • @MagargeeFilms
      @MagargeeFilms  Рік тому

      I’m sure they is used for resetting the position on tire rotations too. But resetting the sensors always resets the system and makes sure the sensors are accurate. (Tested against a tire pressure gauge). But yes, if you have a bad sensor, the sensor will need to be replaced or repaired.

      You will have to remove the tire and break the bead to access the sensor. Not sure if the batteries can be replaced. They may be sealed shut. The sensors are cheap and you might as well just replace the entire sensor if you go through the effort to break the bead.

    I have a question as a new 2018 F-150 owner. My truck came with the 10ply tires that run at 55psi. I'm looking to change to a lower load range tire that'll run around 35psi. My friends brother did the same thing 5 years ago on his and had a Low pressure warning come on .Dealer said they couldn't do anything about it and he lived with the light for 5 years!!. Do you know if I will have the same problem?

    • @MagargeeFilms
      @MagargeeFilms  3 роки тому

      That’s an interesting question!
      I’m sure the F250 has different sensors for the higher pressure tires. That’s why they indicate low pressure with lighter tires. If the sensors can’t be re-calibrated, maybe you can get F150 sensors instead. But why would you want lighter tires on an F250?

    • @MacGyver2585
      @MacGyver2585 3 роки тому
