The hardest battery replacement for any vehicle owner! Just to bleed you out of money if you take it to the dealer. They have to charge to : remove , sensor, install sensor , mount tire , balace and rotate. You could check TP on cars with a simple $5 tool.

No need to take the tires off of the wheels or re balance them. Just need to break the outer bead and push the tire down to access the sensor.

The TPMS symbol did not light up on my ‘08 Titan until after I had new tires mounted. I think the technician damaged the battery(s) when he removed old and mounted new tires. The truck was about 4 years old. I just ignore the light. How long do the batteries last on average, anyway?

TPMS just seems like the worst thing ever for a typical car owner to have to deal with. Hardly anyone knows that each wheel has a "battery-operated" sensor in it! And replacing that battery...OMG. Now you have to pay the dealership to replace all the batteries and I'm sure that's not cheap. What ever happened pre-TPMS to where you simply walk around your car and look to see if they look a bit low and just put some air in them, then check the pressure? Common sense, I've done it for 50+ years, for cryin out loud.

I had a problem with the batteries a few years ago. My batteries kept running down I didn't know why. I'm retired so I don't drive the truck that often and I had a slow leak in a couple of the tires. Every time I tried to start the truck after 4 or 5 days it wouldn't start. All along I thought it was the battery it wasn't. It was TPMS creating an open circuit and drained the battery after about 5 days or so. I took my truck to a local tire shop and had them Dismount the tires clean the rims and install new valve stems problem solved I hate those damn TPMS and wanted to disable it. I can check my tires when I feel the need or they look low. Don't need dead batteries all the time because of a TPMS creating an open circuit in my electrical system.

Well...if the air pressure is okay then the problem is with the pressure indicator censor but really is not necessary the car can run perfectly with out the censors although if don't want the light to come too often on then check the tire & see what is the maximum capacity of air that can hold for example if is 40 psi then filled it up at 38 psi that way avoided the censor light to activate too often due to weather temperature cold or hot on top of that avoiding unnecessary wear of the tires because running more evenly !!! That's only personal opinion & it's not in the book have to find it by experience so in that way the front tires will last longer !!!

I assumed that by buying THEIR tires with the sensors, I would not have a problem. After he finished, I had the error message and the symbol on my dash display. I went to their service dept and was told it's a $25 charge for them to turn off the error, or I can pay $55 for them to change my tires and the error is taken care of. I'm pretty disappointed that after purchasing a new vehicle from them that they are going to nickle and dime me over every little thing. I found a video on UA-cam on how to get rid of the error in the settings. I don't have access to get far enough in to turn it off. I asked the service dept to give me more access and they refused. So, I have this error, pissing me off, every time I drive the vehicle. The vehicle itself is beautiful, and a pleasure to drive, but make no mistake, I will NEVER buy another Mitsubishi! It's good service that sells the next vehicle. The service dept staff are wonderful, it's not their fault that they have rules to follow and I'm sure they have to deal with many irate customers because of it. Maybe someone mentioned this? Do not screw a metal valve stem cap on your tires air valves. As it will oxidize and not want to unscrew to check tire pressure manually. Use plastic caps only. I had one do this. I put a pliers on one tried to unscrew it and half of the value stem broke off in the cap. 😮 Called electrolysis I guess.

I was at a location where I used a club on the steering wheel because of numerous thefts there. When I returned to the car in the unsecured lot and started to drive the tire light was on. I went to the tire dealer near home and used their free tire check. Nothing was wrong. Could someone have interfered with the wireless tire monitor trying to get me to go to a dealer in the bad part of town? Could there have been unintentional interference? F. Miller

After several times of crawling around on all fours checking tire pressure in freezing temperatures only to find one 2psi lower, or higher than the rest I learned my lesson and started ignoring the light. It's on all the time now. Who cares!? These could have been valuable if they only came on with a dramatic loss of pressure...eight or ten psi...but having them come on for a couple psi, which basically happens every time it gets cold, is ridiculous!

When idiots removed full spare tire, those tpms started to get important because if your tire gets F-ed, you are stranded (cant continue travel). If you have regular valves, and full spare tire, you would be able to travel to first service, but that dont generate money, so industry keeps F-ing customers over.
