Merry Christmas Tim & Family, I've been driving for 31 years and it seems there aren't very many true drivers left from my days they have retired or moved on, it isn't easy to be a O/O these days running my own authority and with everyone cutting the rates down to nothing, but hopefully 2023 will look better the 2022... I think it's a great idea that you're helping out owner opps out by buying there trucks and letting them work for you and continue to drive there trucks. I wish I could have done that back in the summer of 2020 when I sold my truck and became a local company driver. The part about being an owner opp that I miss the most is the truck I had, I had a 2000 Classic XL flat top sleeper with a 12.7 Detroit with 7 inch stacks and drop visor. The new orange 379 is a nice truck, but I agree it would look alot with shorter fuel tanks and take headache rack off and new drop visor, and deck plate. I think it'd look better to if you take sleep fairings off or trim them down.

Merry Christmas Tim and Gentry family. yeah working out a Christmas bonus for the new guys would be hard, especially a brand new driver just days before christmas. maybe think of things to improve their life everyday, like a tv in their cab or a fridge if they don't have one or something that they will really benefit from, plus a small bonus relating to days worked, and no infringments, and safe miles driven, and fuel ecconomy. As a brand new worker here in the UK even having holidays is a bonus in the first couple of years depending on when you started working.

Looks like a damn nice truck. I couldn't run something that long for what I do but those long trucks sure do look good going down the road. I'll have to measure my truck again. I can't remember what the wheelbase is but it's long enough that I've had several drivers at the paper plants come on the radio and comment on how long the damn thing is for a company truck. And we're all 105,500 legal. I also wish I was running a truck without all the freaking emissions. 266k on a 2020 T800 with a C15 and I'm broke down again because of freaking DEF/emissions problems. Best of luck with the new truck and I can't wait to see what you guys do with it. Really nice rig even if it needs a little TLC. And also thank you for doing what you're doing for the owner operators and hiring guys on. The industry needs people and companies to keep the small companies alive. If I had to get into an 80k rig with an automatic governed to 62 and a be slave to dispatch I'd find another job. God bless and keep truckin'.

That is a really nice Pete Tim. Merry Christmas Gentry Family from mine to yours. From what I learned from a Canadian Pete salesman, when it's that cold out during a cold start. That you should crank it a few times, wait, crank it a few times, wait, cranking it like this will allow heat to build in the cylinders making it start easier. Plus it keeps it from the starter getting too hot.
I am new to channel but love this truck at moment. Been out of trucking for over 15yrs after breaking my upper back but broke my lower 30+ years ago. So never thought a second time. I am now looking to get back to it but have to get CDL again. Miss going cross country driving months at a time.
Like your idea with the tanks, fenders, and rack. Also think it needs a different visor but that’s just my opinion Overall love the ride!
The biggest thing that has to go is the tanks and fenders the tanks look stupid and the truck ain’t nearly low enough for those front fenders to look good and can’t really be as low as it needs to be and also do work. The visor can be ignored but it’s also up there on the list. But that can all wait with current situations being way more important
Tim, don't change that truck other than putting 200 gallon tanks on it but DO NOT change the looks!! No school like the ol school!! Don't take the box off the back either, your gonna mess it up putting the DTU on it!! Dang sounds like your gonna tear that truck apart, what a damn shame!! Merry Christmas y'all 🎅 🎄!!

Gorgeous truck get rid of the tanks. Let it get back to looking like a stretch. I would definitely put a orange pearl paint job. Or a root beer color would be really classy. I would go with a green apu. System. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. Take care from Cape Breton, Canada

i wish i could still drive standard but its hard to fo with one leg. to me theres nothing nicer then having a clean polished truck. pulling freight down the highway repping a awesome company such as Gentery & Sons Trucking!! love the content Tim and crew put out!! it gives me hope thatnone day ill be able to walk on myniwn again keep up the hard work guys!! 2023 is gonna be the YEAR to remember

This is what I love about my APU NO MORE REAL COLD STARTS I FIRE UP THE APU ABOUT A HOUR BEFORE I START THE TRUCK AND IT WARMS EVERYTHING UP,when I fire the big motor up its almost instantly.

Sorry about your shop. Great video here two weeks ago that reminded me of many years ago as an 88M driving freightliners in Germany. I ran out of fuel with the gauge showing a quarter of a tank on the autobahn. Fortunately, I was with a small convoy with several good battle buddies that helped me get it to a good fuel-up spot, but it was a hairy story which included recovery bolts and no chains or tow straps. AAAAAHHHH!!! No sweat. You can make it through anything with a good group of battle buddies and friends. It looks as though you have plenty. Prayers 🙏🙏🙏

keep the rack. put the big 200's on, let him keep the space for equipment for the trailer he's got. and i'd get a green apu painted to match. it will keep it's streched look and still be a work truck. if it's gonna have a skateboard behind it. i'd want the storage space for equipment. i'd love to see it in person at some point. and you can have any visor on, so long as where its connected to the cab, it cannot be below 8 inches. but you can have it longer after 8 inches if it's angled out more

In north dakota...I keep 1 or 2 spare sets of filters under the bunk and a small empty jug of power service strapped down and refilled with #1 fuel to fill them in a cold roadside emergency. And usually run 50/50 blend of #1 & #2 fuel with antigel. I use power service all year round...I've noticed it keeps the tanks clean and if used in just the winter...it will clean your tanks fast.. and right into the fuel filters and plug them instead of gel them.

Green apu with the Kubota engine...easier to maintain being parts are mostly readily available, and damn nice purchase there, she a good looking ride

I hear what you're saying about trucking in your blood. 40 years in the seat for me , December 11 2020 passed out operating a crane ( nothing on the hook just sitting and waiting) turned out to be Lymphoma Cancer , Company kept me on their insurance until I beat the Cancer March 1 2022 HR called to inform me my position at the company had been eliminated . CDL A with all the endorsements, NCCCO Crane operator/Rigger with all the endorsements , Licensed Mechanic, Certified Welder , Journeyman Machinist , and they toss me to the 4 winds .
65 years old it was time to go from there. But I do sorely miss the adventure of life with trucks been as far as I could go in a truck ,Goose Bay , Labrador, Canada to Key West, Florida to Barrow, Alaska to Tegusa Galpa , Honduras in a truck and operated cranes from 1.5 to 1200 ton . Now its toy time Motorcycle's, Snowmobiles, Boats , but I still would like to be able to pass on my knowledge gained from the years in the industry . What you are doing incorporating independent operators into a form of Co OP is Phenomenal thinking outside of the box way to expand and gain trucks and experienced drivers at the same time minimizing risk of rookie mistakes .

Yep Tim take the rack off take those tanks off and open it up back there so you get the stretched look. Take the sleeper side flares or whatever off and definitely put regular fenders on the front. Yes we don’t like the visor lol but once she’s done and painted it’s going to be one bad bad truck. 🔥🔥

"WRAP IT" then run it I think having the tanks will save you time and money allowing you to fill up in cheaper places not like out here in cally, also the retro look is really popular.

Paint it a candy apple green with a ghost fade look to it with a pearlescent mixed in the paint, I agree with putting 200 gallon tanks on both sides that's it you want it to look like rooster with the 200 gallon tanks and take off the back fenders and put full length rear fenders on it if you want to keep it with them.

Black and orange, get rid of the chrome on frame and top, flat polished aluminum plate top of rails.. light it up like a christmas tree, i like the fenders all way round.. Tint all windows, nice cherry wood floors..

200 gal tanks, leave the rack, bowtie visor, change the front fenders to factory style deep fenders.

It does kinda grow on you and keeping those tanks polished will set it off.

Truck driving is in my blood iv got the upmost respect for truck drivers my grandpa and my dad were truck drivers all their lives i use to go swap trailers with them wen i was growing up i couldnt get enough of it iv been wanting to get my CdL's for some time now i need to make the leap

Tim you need to buy a radiator cover for the front of the truck... you passing too much air thru and thats why you aren't getting any heat.. I have the same issue during winter... good luck with the future upgrades....
