Please everybody else who has a UA-cam channel, please pay attention to how Tim didn't hesitate to help his neighbors out who don't know how to drive in the snow yet. This is how we do it in Tennessee, and hopefully there are still people in other states that will do it as well. Thanks for giving me hope for the younger generation Tim, it's beautiful seeing you passing it down. Happy new year everybody.
Me and my kids go out every storm and pull people out with the winch. And see how long I can drive in 2wd before I need it. I have been that way since I was a kid though. Northern cal red neck
Hey Tim could you do a fleet truck tour its kind of hard to keep up with them all and would love to see what is still around and what is gone think it would be a great video
Always trips me out watching jr drive hahaha he’s such a grown man it’s grown men who can’t even do half what he does shows all in how your raised your a great role model most definitely
408 pm here in Christchurch New Zealand. Hey guys I love watching your you tube channel,Brax is doing awesome, keep it up young man, keep them coming,God Bless.
Hi! I would love to get back into it again, but I drove log truck for 52 years, one year of chip truck and now I have stage 4 liver cancer, to weak to even throw wrappers, I did train a lot of drivers in my time and did it right, most of them turned out to be good drivers, I love what you do, brings back many memories, my first truck was a sterling, have you ever heard 0f those? and every breed of truck after that, my last new truck was a 2006 W900 isx cummings and it lost two turbos in the first 3 years, I am so sorry for your loss, wish I could help but my cancer treatments are costing one million dollars, lucky I don't have to pay all of it, I retired for good in 2018, and when I say I love the smell of Deisel in the morning, I mean it, I live in Oregon and get see the trucks go by all day long, I truly hope you can get through this, It's heart breaking, anyway hang in there fellow driver,,,
Good stuff as always. I've always had a thing for trucks, had an uncle that drove most of his life. It was always a treat when we went to visit and his cab over Kenworth was in the driveway. He'd always give me and my younger brother a walk through, explaining what did what and how things worked. Great time to be a kid in the mid 1970's. Paint that truck a dark gray metallic with some black and white highlights. Looking forward to seeing it finished no matter what color you decide. Stay safe out there.
Give it a fresh Shiny New Blue Paint job the Color it is and for get about the Paint on the Truck it'll be fine with add ons you all are going to put on it this is my VOTE
Normally I don't care for Internationals EXCEPT for the old Transtars, BUT I have to admit the white cow is a damn fine looking machine! I'm glad to see your fleet growing. Merry Christmas and I wish you, your family, and all of your employees a happy, safe, and amazing New Year! Stay safe my friend.
Great content as ever..never a slack moment around the shop..great to see your making good additions to the fleet and growing the business..you seem to have a pretty sound plan and business model..just be careful not to grow to fast but wishing you continued success for 2023😇👍🔧🇺🇸
10:00 reminds me of my mom with her camaro when she still drove it she could make it home because the farmers kept the road cleared but never could make the turn into the driveway so she’d just slide it in and the neighbor that drove a wrecker would hook up and put her back in the driveway on his way home lol
Always nice working in the snow 😆you guys rock ….so cool to see the fleet getting bigger and better ….cant wait to see new shop and no dirt or mud and stones hopefully
I keep looking at that Orange and white Peterbilt that you just got. It was love at first sight the hole time that I was driving that was my dream truck that truck is so Beautiful. I can't tell you how I feel about Pete. Wow. Thanks so much.
If your going to go all out I got an idea for ya!! You and your son come up with "The Gentry Paint Scheme." When people see it coming they do one of many things. 1) take there hat off and say Damn look at that Gentry truck. 2) make that paint scheme fog up people's glasses. Take there sunglasses off and say Damn look at that. 3) Last but most important. A paint scheme done with love and family involved.
i love it ,cracked windshields, driving 60 mph with small kids in the front seats [no seat belts] BUT: YOUR VIDEOS ARE AWESOME YOUR ALWAYS POSITIVE ;}}}
AS YOU SHOULD EXSPECT FROM THE COMMENTS ...YOU HAVE A DUSTING THERE TENNESSE ....frozen say what ééélets talk canada cold ..when i truck to your area i take my jacket off to tarp or untarp..you guys got it made.....happy new year ...GET THE FFFFFFF...TO WORK......
not sure who was in it but i saw the FLD 120 truck pulling some boats up here outside of platte city MO. its always awesome to see the trucks all the way over here in the midwest
I think you should come up with a paint scheme so that everyone that sees one of your trucks going down the road they know it's a Gentry & Sons truck. I like red, white and blue like the American flag. The Gentry & Sons American Dream Team. Great video, I love the content.
Really enjoy your channel. It reminds me of my much younger days driving a cab over frieghtliner with a 250 cummins and a 5 & 4 twin stick (I think - Maybe it was a 4 and 4) - a freaking nightmare to keep on the road. We were always fixing something. Also a R model mack with a 300 plus married to a 15 speed with double reduction and double dif lock. Off course a single window bunk for a guy who is 6'4" Double diff's work great, just do not expect to steer. That truck would only go 52 MPH but it would pull a mountain at 45 MPH I did have the pleasure of driving a 62 White around the city of Halifax delivering steel when I was in university back in the mid 80's. Manual Steering, Tag Axle, 220 cummins(I think). As crazy as it sounds it was like driving a rally car every day and I loved it. I drove the Mack on the ice roads in nothern Canada. Back then we just called it the bush - where the pavement ended and driving got serious. I had no idea it was considered a dangerous job until the TV show came out. Just a kid having fun. I had to laugh at the little bit of snow that caused the mustang to slide off the road. Today here in Canada it was a warm 6 F with almost 1/4 " ice on the windshield. It took me 45 minutes to warm up the pick up just to go for a drive. The truck has not been out of 4 wheel drive for almost a month now. I guess its all about what you are used to and how you plan for your travel conditions. I'm not sure I could drive a new truck today. I learned to drive by the sound of the trurbo, tourque range in gears and the temperuture of the exhaust. Not sure any of the younger drivers would even know what a pyrometer is.
Driver you couldn't drive a new truck these days. You would keep trying to use the clutch and end up smashing you left leg into the firewall. Lol. Nowadays buying a manual trans car lessons the chance of it getting stolen cause nobody can drive them lol. Take care and be safe out there and happy new year.
@@gregadomeit4020 When I quit driving trucks for pay I swore I would never have a standard transmission in a car/SUV/Pick up - Never have. However, when I retired my brother and I got together and set up a shop to repair equipment. Our first purchase was a M2 that, for spome reason, we cannot put up for sale. We have serious discussions on who will drive it when some work comes out way. I swear, that is the best kept piece of equipment I have ever seen. Smashing the left leg into the firewall reminds me of smashing my right leg into the steering wheel adjustment lever of the R model Mack when in the bush. I swear that will be the reason for a Knee Replacement in a few years. Anyway Greg, be well and safe out there. Art
@@artbrown6683 thanks for the reply Art. I drove a 30 ton R- model Mack heavy wrecker back in the day I know what you mean about steering wheel lever lol. It was a beauty of a wrecker just a bit rough on the bones. Made good money back then but I had to do everything myself. Now I see these towing channels on here and they send at least 1 or two extra guys to help to operator on wrecks or recoveries or whatever. Pulling axle shafts in 100° F or - 15F below 0° blizzard , dropping bumpers and all that stuff. They didn't have the under reach like they do now I just had a big round tow bar. Somedays i would sleep in my pick up for an hour before i drove to the house cause I got wore out doing that shit myself. You take care brother and be safe out there. Greg
Marina Blue 1966 Corvette color. Thanks, I heard your dad mention the new windshield is ordered. "Good job". Making it better. Great you tube channel, I watch it often.

Another good one bud and lucky lucky lucky lol. Love the bed on the new Ford looks good and more useful then the stock bed. Take care till the next one
Company I worked for had a toggle switch on all the gear shifts of the trucks for the on/off of the jake, just ran a wire from the dash and back so only needed one toggle switch.
Tim, what about a wrap? Would that be cheaper? Love the channel. You remind me how my Daddy was with me at Braxtons age. We had a 379 Pete, 3406E, 290WB, tanker yanker! Miss runnin with him. There’s been times I go to Flyin J just to see the truck traffic at age 52. Love ya guys and safe travels. Tell your brother thanks for his service!
Dark black diamond to light paint to true burnt orange scheme. Burned orange with ting of black, wild ride. My pete was that color with custom black rims and short 4 in pipes that was also blacked out . Give it (the Classic XL) a dark blue paint job as it appears to be now, perhaps silver on the fenders….a good cleanup and polish on the aluminum, put it on the road. Definitely watch the pressure on that foot feed….revenuers usually aren’t as considerate. Glad you have the Binder cabover sorted out….
People of Tennessee are generally good people. my mother was born and her family came from Lawrenceburg, Tenn. before coming to Winter Garden, Fl.no snow for me , thank god for central Florida.
That traction control can be confusing if you never used it before. If you just hit the button once it'll disengage, but as soon as you spin it'll kick back on. If you hold the button for a few seconds it'll say advance trac off or something like that and it'll totally disengage your traction control. Just figured I'd give you a tip if you didn't know.
I tried to race a pete that wasn't pulling a trailer after coming out of the mc,henry tunnel . It pulled away like i was standing still . Amazing power .
If you double tap the traction control button it should kick the advancetrac into “sport mode” idk if they still done that on the new models but that’s how they’ve done it in 17-19
Hey Tim you should pick a company color andnas you paint your trucks start paimting them the same color.
