  • The night of filming was surreal. I couldn’t believe from a casual conversation at an ADHD support group in Leeds- the progress to videoing would happen. It’s an ADHD thing to sabotage or abandon projects!
I was full of a cold and dosed up on flu remedies. I had to leave some recordings so my coughing wouldn’t become background sound effects! It was a great evening and a privilege to hear other experiences- these kind of conversations rarely come up in day to day encounters.
Whilst taking part in the project I remembered a TED talk by Brené Brown about entering the arena, and coming out of the shadows. It feels scary, and vulnerable to share your story publicly but we hope it might help others to know they are not alone, and give insight to those with loved ones diagnosed with ADHD.

    WHO WE ARE
    Alex Wolstencroft
    Francis Waters
    Sally Waters
    Kerim Jaspersen
    Adrian Lamb
The Adult ADHD channel was formed when the five of us met at the Leeds Adult ADHD support group in September 2018. Four of us have ADHD (Alex, Francis, Kerim and Adrian) and Sally is married to Francis, so she became an expert out of necessity.
We believe there is less support and information available for adult ADHD compared with the diagnosis and management of ADHD in children. No two people with ADHD are the same. However, we share familiar frustrations, missed opportunities, and struggles.
We want to show a variety of perspectives about what it's like to have ADHD as an adult. We also want to support adults who suspect they may have ADHD or have a confirmed ADHD diagnosis, whether recent or from 20 years ago.

    WHAT IS ADHD?
#ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It's not a great name - ideally it would be called Executive Function Disorder.
Executive functions are “a set of processes that all have to do with managing oneself and one's resources in order to achieve a goal.” (Source: www.ldonline.or...)
    Executive functions include:
    Inhibition of impulses
Shifting your thinking flexibly from one situation to another
    Controlling emotions
    Initiating a task
    Planning
    Self-monitoring

Is there any chance to find out where this person got his private diagnosis from?
