Just started to learn how to code three days in and goal is to become a full stack web developer or backend either or. Stuck with using my phone and iPad don’t have a laptop right now too expensive lol gotta save up for it. Doing good learning little by little using free courses and apps to learn. As well as taking Harvard courses for free on their website taking computer science. Just got my bachelors two weeks ago in criminal justice and building up my skills if any advice im all ears.

People need to understand that requirements for junior positions aren't for full competency in the list of skills they request. They want you to at least be familiar but not proficient enough to where they can leave you on your own from day 1 and let you get on with it. From personal experience, most people ask is for you to COMMUNICATE. It's a lacking skill a lot of developers start with that never address it. It's important as a developer to reach out for help...especially as a junior developer because it is to be expected at that level, and good companies offer resources to help you get acquainted with the stack the company uses, and if they don't just ask.

I think that highly depends on the company, most companies arent going to want to pay you a big chunk of salary to have to baby you and hold your hand, they want you to be familar with the stack they're using and be able to not dive in and hit the ground running but atleast be able to know whats going on and not be completely useless to the team.

I bought a course at Udemy in 2017 and after 2 weeks, I kept fluctuating and unknowingly it's 2020 like what the fudge happened all those years? I could've learn so much be way ahead of where I am right now but rather than beating up yourself and living in the past, I have started to change everything about myself now and It's time for me to disappear for a while to focus on my code.

@@devinwhite6092 Hey Devin, thank you for your message.
I can assure 200% that Udemy is not a scam. I thought the same when I was searching for an online course to learn and to be honest, paid course on Udemy is cheaper compared to other websites.
There are lot of free materials where you can learn how to code.
Websites like Codeacademy, Freecodecamp, etc. But as a total beginner with no pre-requisite, I'd highly recommend you to get a paid course on Udemy.
2 of the best Instructors (for me) on Udemy is Colt Steele and Angele Yu.
2 of them are famous on Udemy esp in the category of Web Development so I'd say you can buy either of their course and start learning.

Hello, your video is really touching to me. I am currently going through the same things you were going through. I have been thinking about getting into Web Development for a while now. I want to learn coding but I want to do it as a hustle. Thanks for sharing your story. You not the only one going through it.

man, I just finished my bootcamp of 6 month as a full stack web dev, and I'm searching for jobs and it's scary because I'm feeling that I don't know much out almost nothing, like I can make things done but always need to research information either how to finish or how to start a certain function or project itself, and they always require way more programs that I never saw... your story is amazing and it does gives me inspiration, keeping my hope and trying to learn and get some place that I could at least start with professionals where I could actually learn how to be good enough and a good professional as well. I think the only thing we need is one shot to be able to grow. Your videos are really good and loads of help, and your person is just outstanding and very humble love it! and I'm sorry for my bad English.

You are a lot more resilient than me. I'm in my late 30s now, and it's kind of scary that I'll be in my 40s in a few years' time, with no savings, no house, a student load debt of $25,000. I work as a call centre agent for the last 3 years earning minimum wage of $1,600 a fortnight. This is not my ideal job, but it's the only job I could get into because I have arthritic joints disease which is passed on from my father side of the family. Back in my 20s, I attempted 2 years of chemical engineering course, but I failed miserably and dropped out, then I transferred to a computer science couse, did well the first year, but then my arthritis set in, and performed poorly in 2nd year. I tried Laboratory Chemistry, but also failed 2nd year. No point in looking back to my mistakes Ive made now, since the past cannot be changed. Now I'm thinking whether or not I should invest in education to study IT or Accounting, because I really want to get out of the rut. The call centre job is giving me anxiety and listening to customers complaints can really messed up my mental well-being in the long run.

Great video, many people need to see this and understand that picking yourself up after every failure is the best success. I've been learning frontend for a year and a half(on and off) then finally got the motivation to stay consistent, but idk what to apply for (obv entry level) but would an internship be more ideal? (Dropout as well)

You made this video 2yrs ago but it's still the most sincere story I've heard. Other "How I" vids people post about their "struggle" fall flat as I can tell it's a bit made up to try to make it "relatable" for views. Regardless of what job you earned - it's a wonderful journey of perseverance and willingness to take risks without ego!
