I remember after seeing the preview for Don't Tell Mom, that the line "Dishes are done, man" was always a running joke between my younger sister and I.
Buckaroo and the Hong Kong Cavaliers, too! Banzai gets points for adding musician Billy Vera as Pinky Carruthers as one of the Institutes Hong Kong Cavaliers band member agents. I'm 56 and I have seen Buckaroo Across the 8th Dimension about 10 times. (Just 2 years ago I purchased the book (as told by Reno) written by Eric Mac Rauch). John Lithgow is hysterical doing that Mussolini 'speech' impression, in front of his, mostly, indifferent small group of tired Lectroid followers; and he is just as funny watching, again, because it gets easier to understand that freakin' accent!😂 I'm gonna mention a movie that was (to me) a brilliant idea for a remake of a movie that is considered the worst anti drug propaganda movie ever made (the original was produced by a religious group). The makers obviously did not know much about marijuana in 1936 and the movie is Reefer Madness. It was remade as a musical starring Stephen Weber (Wings tv) and a wonderfully, over the top and innocent (for a while) Kristen Bell. Neve Campell has a small part dancing, very well, in the Malt Shoppe and her brother is the other main, tempted star of the communist(?)😂, Jazz music created (more evil), drug that is destroying the youth of today. Jesus pops up in a musical hallucination number singing like a Lounge Lizard. Priceless. Again, the movie is Reefer Madness: The Musical. Has anyone seen it?
I have only seen the original Reefer Madness (which is pretty funny in itself) but I haven't seen the musical. I will track that down as it sounds right up my alley!
@23:47 - Buckaroo Banzai... WORST MOVIE EVER. There's no way I would consider it a "cult" movie. And I'm not being sarcastic. I couldn't get thru the first 15 minutes of that garbage!!!

An all time great line!
Repo Man is the ultimate cult film...
others:
Primer
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
