Noo man i love the concept and artstyle you went for in dewdrop, it inspired me to make my own game too in a bit of the same artstyle. Long story short i really hope the game makes it 😂 im ofc gonna support it gl gis :)
I was on the fence about backing this and originally decided not to, but this video has pushed me over to the other side, so now I'm in. I do think the game at least deserves a shot at being completed. Best of luck to you!
Amazing video as always! Great pacing and perfect story telling! I've been interested in dewdrop since before you had triple digit subs I will back the project as soon as possible to show my support and so I can play the game! Keep going man i dont care how long it takes!
I appreciate that. Though is seems like most people don't feel that same way about it. haha If the Kickstarter fails, I have a many other exciting project I want to make.
I'm pretty surprised your project is not doing well on kickstarter, i personally loved it as soon as i saw the first video. What im wondering is: are there enough special mechanics that make the game stand out? In a lot of videos, it's mostly just very basic platforming so far, but I could be wrong. gl!
most ppl say stuff without the experience to back it up. games take time to make, having a job to make money, is still time... its hard to make a game when you dont have time to work on it and money to feed your family. I'm glad your asking for help on this, know its a hard thing to do. sometimes you need others to invest their time to make something amazing. ignore the typical trolls.
you have a successful youtube channel with almost 100k subs. This vidéo came out less than 2h ago and already has more than 5k views. You don't need a successful kickstarter to assure you that there is a lot of people interested by your game (myself first). I work on big projects too so I really do understand that it is hard to finish this project, but really, don't focus on your kickstarter and release the game as fast as possible. This may sound selfish but really, the whole point of this video is "I don't know if it will be successful enough", bro, you already know it will be. Maybe not as much as you would like but it the first big project you're doing on you re own, it won't be the same as "Hollow Knight" or other big metroidvania. To conclude, I really hope that I can remove dewdrop dinasty from my wishlist to put it in my library. Big love again and go on we believe in you and your project
I'm so glad the kickstarter succeeded. It has to be really hard, genuinely considering dropping a project you've worked on for multiple years. I have a current project I've been working on only since this past february, and I would never dream of dropping that, let alone a 2 to 3 year project. Keep up the good work, Firith
Hi The winner of the recent firith team autumn jam here. I just wanted to wish you all the best with the project. After this video and seeing the kickstarter I'm pretty confident that it will reach its goal, I also pledged 25$ just now. Keep it up man.

Great job man, the demos incredible. Keep it up, 🎉 this is one of the coolest games I’ve seen and played😊 I’m definitely buying when it releases, because I know it will, just do your best😌
I’m saving up everything I can for college right now so I don’t think I can support the kickstarter but I definitely want to see it work out. I think your game looks amazing, so I would totally buy it when it’s done :) best of luck to you
Interesting video Goodgis. I had a great time playing the demo for dewdrop dynasty, and I can see it has a lot of potential. I was actually looking at the Kickstarter a few days earlier and I can't imagine how disheartening it must be to see it not performing to well. I just wanted to say good luck on your Kickstarter and I hope it gets funded!
I appreciate it. I'm excited either way. If it fails, I already have some super exciting projects I would love to tackle. (And that would have more broad appeal.)
Dewdrop isn't the kind of game I usually play, but it looks like a lot of fun. I'll give it some thought and donate if I truly think I'll play. Like you requested, I won't donate just because I like your content and want you to succeed, I'll think of the game first. Also, people are stupid if they truly think that a commercially successful game can easily be made for free with a solo dev, sure it HAS happened before but those are the inspirational exceptions, not the rule. Fingers crossed whatever happens with Dewdrop makes you happy man.
cave story was made practically for free, although the entire game had art, music and programming, along with the gamedev tools made by one guy. it took him a while though and he's kinda nuts for doing all that
Man, I really hope this project gets funded. If it doesn't then I'll be sad to see it go, but sometimes life just hits like a train at full speed. Anyways, best of luck! I'll try to get the word out some more in hope that they support it too.
Your channel is one of the most consistently high quality channels in the indie space. I hope you best for you and your project. Your work is so inspiring. I wish I could donate but I am currently saving for university so I can gamedev full time.
I wish I could provide more monetary support (though I might still donate to the Kickstarter whenever I have access to more money), but i will say I absolutely adored the demo, your work is stellar and I am incredibly excited for Dewdrop. I really hope you can get it finished, because it has great potential as a game.
Sadly I can’t donate (I’m 13 and I don’t have my own money) but I will definitely subscribe to give you a little bit of support and to keep up with the project. I’m so happy the algorithm blessed me with this video this is a very interesting game, I’ll make sure to tell all my friends about it when it comes out
I've always wanted to make a game like this, I actually want to be a game developer when I grow up. So I understand the pain you are going through. This game can not die. It has so much potential and looks like an amazing game with some fantastic inspiration. I'll try pledge $15 - $25 so I can help : D
I hope that you can meet your kickstarter goal! I would donate because the game looks cool and I want to play it but rn I don’t have any money so I’ll have to wait a little before I can
Hi Goodgis, I love watching your videos and they have brought so much inspiration to me and have made me really want to try to make a game. The engine that i want to try to use is Godot but its really hard to try and find tutorials on it that are less then two videos and arnt super comlicated. I just want to ask for you to please make a godot tutorial or overview. that would be so amazing. Best of luck with Dew drop dynasy and i cant wait to play it!
it sounds like its a really stressful release, which I'm sure every game dev feels right before the due date. But if its any solace, you're an inspiration. Creative endeavors are one of the most fulfilling things out there, and only more impressive when you realize you're just one dude with a lot of passion for video games.
New subscriber here. I apologize in advance for the length of this comment. I’ve taken interest in your development on this game. I’ve been thinking of getting into game development myself. This too was a dream of mine growing up. I was a big gamer and artist as a child, and still am to this day. I too am married and work full time, as well as have 2 children. So balancing time is difficult. I’d like to ask, how does one start making a game? What do you take into consideration? Idk where to start. I get these ideas and start drawing up characters and animating movements in Adobe Animate, all while writing out ideas. But thats as far as I get. Any thoughts or recommendations? Watching your videos has definitely inspired me. So please keep at it! You aren’t wasting your time when you’re doing something you are passionate about. You are bringing your ideas and creations to life to share with others, and that’s pretty awesome.
The best way to start developing games is by making games. Haha I know it sounds simple but start by trying to recreate a classic game like pong or snake. It will help teach you game logic and code without all of the stress of trying to create something original. It important when you first start to just make games. :D Hopefully that helps and I wish you the best of luck.
If I wasn't broke I would back you in a heart beat. Best of luck hope you finish this incredible game! one more thing, please don't this game die. If it doesn't reach the goal maybe just work on it less, It is such an amazing idea! I would hate to see it go :(
Your videos have helped me learn so much about game dev! When I saw the kickstarter for Dewdrop came out I immediately put 80 dollars towards it. People who don't make games always assume it's easy so try not to let those comments discourage you! Whatever happens, just know that you've built a collection of loyal supporters and I'll be happy to fund future projects! Thank you!
Don’t let people get you down man! Your games are great, and worth every cent of support!… I mean I’m poor so I can’t help much, but I hope moral support can help even a little! 😅
Uq yeah! Dude, I started a Kickstarter for a project a while back to see if my project could get funding, and most of the people just left discouraging comments. It felt horrible. I wish you the best, Goodgis! I would love to see some more large game devlogs. Or even just short game devlogs; whatever the future holds!
You need a sprite artist? I would do it for free, this project is simply amazing and I’m sure a lot of people in this community would help you making this game
Unfortunately just catching this now and in the middle of a big move :( Hope it goes well! If it was a longer campaign I'd definitely drop $100 next paycheck to get that physical signed stuff
Goodgis, I think if you do a relaunch, you might be able to save it. The main problem was that there weren’t any new eyes on the project, mainly due to kickstarter completely missing the Project We Love tag. A relaunch could quite literally get the game funded. I hope that even if the game is not successful you try again.
I think UA-cam buried your Kickstarter video. This is my first time hearing about it, and that may be true for other subscribers? Either way, backed the project. I want to play it and you deserve to be able to finish it.
This video is just so real and truly relatable. What you've said about burnout and the potential cost of success with indie games is so true. I can definitely see how getting the demo ready and the KS at the same time could burn you out. I still really hope to see DD's Kickstarter succeed but if you decide to shelf the game then we'll still be here to support your next project man! I've come to really love your smaller titles like Blizzard Blowout 64 and I can't wait to see what's in store for you 😊
I feel you man. I am a full time game dev that's trying to get my hobby game up and going while having a second job AND two small children. It's an hour here, hour there... kudos on the clever kickstart timing and I hope you're able to keep it worth being your while!
Dude I am currenty developing a space exploration game and I can relate with you It takes so much time to code the math, physics and other stuff that it require, but I hope it will be worth it
Dewdrop dynasty is such a well made game i have watched a few playthroughs of the demo and i loved it and i wish i could support your work with the kickstarter but i cant but hopefully when the full version comes out i will buy it and i have a lot of fun!
For me the hype of a game can die out of it takes too long for you to access it as a player, since the trailer came out. But its not always the same it seems to depend. My example would be Hytale that I was super super hyped about. when it got announched, but now its been years since it was first shown, so almost all hype and expectations is gone for me. I probably will play it but its risky to announce a game too early but sametime if it actually turns out amazing it will be a success at the end anyway is my guess. Seems to be a risk / reward situation for a game dev because you also want people to know about your game and if you want investors is my guess also? But you also might get that extra stress if actually getting it out quicker to keep the hype alive. Just some thought I had on this subject. Currently studying at University in Game Design & Scripting, so I'm still learning. Keep it up mate and your videos are always great 😊 and good luck everyone with your game projects!
I never back any Kickstarter project before but after watching this video make me change i like your games and your video is inspiring me to try game dev as a hobby. Heck i don't even subscribe to you But.. i guess i back your project i have no reason to subscribe. Good luck man i hope Dewdrop Dynasty got fund
Have you considered going with an indie game publisher? Some will actually fund development and help with a lot of things so you can just focus on making the game. Of course there's some downsides but maybe you could work out a fair deal. You'd probably have a good chance of it since you already have a crowd of supporters wanting to play the game. Might be better than just shelving the project. Hope it doesn't come to that though, good luck!
as a Solo Dev I'm really focused on what it takes to get my games finished. I've only finished 3 games at this point, but I feel good about what I've produced so far.
I'm sorry about all this, man. I hope you can release this game. Heck, I don't even care about Kickstarter that much, but no joke I made an account just to support this game.

Best of luck with the Kickstarter, the game looks very nice!
Thanks!
In a lot of videos, it's mostly just very basic platforming so far, but I could be wrong.
gl!
That's what I'm wondering? If we get funded I'm definitely going to add more ability and a bigger gameplay hook so it appeals to a wider audience.
most ppl say stuff without the experience to back it up.
games take time to make, having a job to make money, is still time...
its hard to make a game when you dont have time to work on it and money to feed your family.
I'm glad your asking for help on this, know its a hard thing to do.
sometimes you need others to invest their time to make something amazing.
ignore the typical trolls.
Yeah, you're right
you have a successful youtube channel with almost 100k subs.
Thanks for the encourage!
Please finish dewdrop! I am soo hyped for the game even though I've been waiting for it for a while... Keep up those amazing Programming skills! 🖖🤓
That's the plan!
Thanks so much! :D
I really hope you can finish dewdrop, it looks awesome and I can't wait to play it
I hope so too! Thanks! :D
I wish you the best of luck. The game looks nice, and polished. I can't donate, but still wish you the best
Thanks so much!
Hi
The winner of the recent firith team autumn jam here. I just wanted to wish you all the best with the project. After this video and seeing the kickstarter I'm pretty confident that it will reach its goal, I also pledged 25$ just now.
Keep it up man.
Thank you so much!
Atlus would have probably been a better chacter to show then Sisyphus, stuck pushing a rock up a never ending hill
Yeah, you're right. Thanks for the suggestion!
XD
music in the clips you showed reminds me of a fusion between Kirby and Bug Fables music I really liked that lol I'll check this game out looks great and I want to see it do well
:D
Great job man, the demos incredible. Keep it up, 🎉 this is one of the coolest games I’ve seen and played😊
I’m definitely buying when it releases, because I know it will, just do your best😌
Thanks so much!
I’m saving up everything I can for college right now so I don’t think I can support the kickstarter but I definitely want to see it work out. I think your game looks amazing, so I would totally buy it when it’s done :) best of luck to you
Totally understandable! Thanks so much.
Hey man i may be a little late but congrats on reaching your goal!! When i get the monday I'll try to get it!
Thanks so much! :D
man thats the best indie devlog series music i have ever heard.
:D Thanks!
As others have mentioned, your videos are very inspirational. All the best to you and here's to Dewdrop's success!
Thank you so much!
Thanks so much!
cave story was made practically for free, although the entire game had art, music and programming, along with the gamedev tools made by one guy. it took him a while though and he's kinda nuts for doing all that
Man, I really hope this project gets funded. If it doesn't then I'll be sad to see it go, but sometimes life just hits like a train at full speed.
Anyways, best of luck! I'll try to get the word out some more in hope that they support it too.
Thanks so much! I'm excited what the future bring either way.
Keep on working! The demo you posted was wonderful!!
Thank you so much!
Your channel is one of the most consistently high quality channels in the indie space. I hope you best for you and your project. Your work is so inspiring. I wish I could donate but I am currently saving for university so I can gamedev full time.
Hey, school always comes first! So no worries at all.
I wish I could provide more monetary support (though I might still donate to the Kickstarter whenever I have access to more money), but i will say I absolutely adored the demo, your work is stellar and I am incredibly excited for Dewdrop. I really hope you can get it finished, because it has great potential as a game.
Much appreciated! And no worries!
Sadly I can’t donate (I’m 13 and I don’t have my own money) but I will definitely subscribe to give you a little bit of support and to keep up with the project. I’m so happy the algorithm blessed me with this video this is a very interesting game, I’ll make sure to tell all my friends about it when it comes out
No worries! We did it!
You've got this my man. I'll be backing your project, it looks really fun and deserves to be completed and published
Thank you so much!
I've always wanted to make a game like this, I actually want to be a game developer when I grow up.
So I understand the pain you are going through. This game can not die. It has so much potential and looks like an amazing game with some fantastic inspiration.
I'll try pledge $15 - $25 so I can help : D
Aww, thanks so much!
Anytime, Man! You really deserve this project to go sky high, All the best!
I hope that you can meet your kickstarter goal! I would donate because the game looks cool and I want to play it but rn I don’t have any money so I’ll have to wait a little before I can
Hey, no worries at all!
Congrats on getting the game funded dude!
Thanks so much!
Thank you so much! :D
it sounds like its a really stressful release, which I'm sure every game dev feels right before the due date. But if its any solace, you're an inspiration. Creative endeavors are one of the most fulfilling things out there, and only more impressive when you realize you're just one dude with a lot of passion for video games.
Thanks so much!
I would hate to see it go :(
Thanks so much! I'll see what I can do.
Thank you!
I seriously appreciate it!
Just dropping by to say I played the demo an loved it!
Super happy to hear it! :D
I want to see this game finished so bad 😢, dewdrop looks so good
Me too!
Don’t let people get you down man! Your games are great, and worth every cent of support!… I mean I’m poor so I can’t help much, but I hope moral support can help even a little! 😅
Haha, I appreciate it! :D
Dude, Dewdrop Dynasty looks great! I know that game dev is hard but I bet you can push though it!
Thanks so much!
Uq yeah! Dude, I started a Kickstarter for a project a while back to see if my project could get funding, and most of the people just left discouraging comments. It felt horrible.
I wish you the best, Goodgis! I would love to see some more large game devlogs. Or even just short game devlogs; whatever the future holds!
I shall continue advocating for dewdrop playing and support
Thanks so much!
You need a sprite artist? I would do it for free, this project is simply amazing and I’m sure a lot of people in this community would help you making this game
I appreciate it!
Unfortunately just catching this now and in the middle of a big move :(
Hope it goes well! If it was a longer campaign I'd definitely drop $100 next paycheck to get that physical signed stuff
Hey no worries. If we don't hit our goal, we're going to try again in the spring. :D
That's a great point :D
I think UA-cam buried your Kickstarter video. This is my first time hearing about it, and that may be true for other subscribers? Either way, backed the project. I want to play it and you deserve to be able to finish it.
Thank you so much!
I've come to really love your smaller titles like Blizzard Blowout 64 and I can't wait to see what's in store for you 😊
Hey, thanks so much!
I’m looking forward for this game. To not see it finished would be a tragedy. Also that soundtrack sounds FIRE!!
I completely agree!
whatever happens, thank you for sharing your journey, it sure has inspired me seeing you💙
Thanks so much!
I feel you man. I am a full time game dev that's trying to get my hobby game up and going while having a second job AND two small children. It's an hour here, hour there... kudos on the clever kickstart timing and I hope you're able to keep it worth being your while!
Good luck man!
I really hope enough people support this game, it's looking REALLY good!
Thanks so much!
We made it !!!!!!We made it !!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets Goooooooooooooooooooo
!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really hoping the kickstarter goes well! Dewdrop sound such an amazing game, it’d be a bit if a shame if it wasn’t public.
Thanks so much!
Dude
I am currenty developing a space exploration game and I can relate with you
It takes so much time to code the math, physics and other stuff that it require, but I hope it will be worth it
Me too! :D
best of luck man, the game has a lot of potential
Thanks so much!
YOU CLUTCHED IT! HE REACHED THE GOAL!
We did it!
@@Goodgis I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!
Backed the game already and I hope it funds for sure! Best of luck!
Much appreciated!
Dewdrop dynasty is such a well made game i have watched a few playthroughs of the demo and i loved it and i wish i could support your work with the kickstarter but i cant but hopefully when the full version comes out i will buy it and i have a lot of fun!
Thanks, Joseph. I'm not sure if you watched the video till the end but if the Kickstarter flops then Dewdrop probably won't be coming out. ;(
I absolutely love dewdrop! I've played the demo three times now. I'm so excited! 😁
Fingers crossed about the Kickstarter.
Backed. Best of luck with the Kickstarter!
Much appreciated!
Thanks for sharing!
Backed! I think it would be extremely sad to see something you've worked so hard on die on the vine. Best of luck with the campaign!
Thanks so much!
Can't belive some people actually thought you were gready! game deva expensive
I know right?
I happy that this project has reached its goal and will soon be made into a fun polished game
I never back any Kickstarter project before but after watching this video make me change i like your games and your video is inspiring me to try game dev as a hobby.
Heck i don't even subscribe to you
But.. i guess i back your project i have no reason to subscribe.
Good luck man i hope Dewdrop Dynasty got fund
Thanks so much!
I see that your goal is at 18k, i really hope you can get the goal! I cant donate, but i would if i could :( this game looks really good!
Fingers crossed!
i dont have money to support but i really hope you get fully funded
No worries!
I really really hope you can accomplish your dream man!
Thanks so much!
I hope more people get recommendes this!!!
Me too!
That's true!
I really hope this succeeds!
Thanks so much!
as a Solo Dev I'm really focused on what it takes to get my games finished. I've only finished 3 games at this point, but I feel good about what I've produced so far.
That's awesome!
I highly hope you reach your goal, have you ever considered partnering up with an indie game publisher, like videogamedunkey's 'BIGMODE'?
We did it! :D
I'm sorry about all this, man. I hope you can release this game.
Heck, I don't even care about Kickstarter that much, but no joke I made an account just to support this game.
Thank so you much!
@@Goodgis
Just got an email today saying that ya'll reached your Kickstarter goal. Congrats man!
No matter what I'm going to try it out, take your time man
I appreciate that!
Just backed it!
Good Luck 😀
Thanks!
Thanks so much! :D
